amaretto is lovely! it's an almond liquor. the most famous brand is Disaronno, and it's italian

have it with coke as a sweet, slightly almondy coke
have it with orange juice, as an Amaretto Sour(s?)
have it with apple juice, and it tastes like marzipan!

looks like you did to me. or at least, you were trying to imply it.
holy shit
that color and bottle looks amazing
it is really lovely to drink
i think once people have had something other than beer to drink, they start to understand how people can enjoy alcoholic drinks just for the sake of drinking it
Beer is far too weak and boring
By a general rule have rum and coke. Great taste and it's great for loosening up. Don't forget to add lemon (Lemon juice preferably).
Drinking things straight up without even ice or without it being a shot will make you look like a drunkard and that ain't good either.
if you like rum, and tend to be partial to sweet things, try Morgan's Spiced rum. i'm not too keen on the dark rums myself, but Morgan's Spiced is light and vanilla-y, and also tastes great with coke or lemonade!

don't get it mixed up with Captain Morgan's though... that's a much darker rum. you might like it, but i don't.
I edited the op. I just want to apologize to those who thought I was serious with the statement of "how to be cool". It was a joke on the drinking stereotype. Booze will not make you cool. This thread was intended as a beginners guide to parties, staying safe, and not throwing up everything. Once again. Sorry for the confusion, regardless i feel like it's a fairly helpful guide to those who have never drank or partied before

Here in Venezuela we have awesome national rums, like Santa Teresa, Pampero, Naiguata, Ocumare and Cacique so I don't really buy those foreign ones (Except for Malibu, that one's awesome), although Coke and rum (Cuba libre as we call it here) should be drank only with light coloured or white rums, as to not make it overly sweet.
I'd actually recommend for non drinkers to just get vodka and orange juice with some grenadine, it's a cheap, very sweet drink that won't get you hammered.
Thanks to this thread I'm now the swaggiest kid at school.
also known as a screwdriver :v:
i would say that's a well recommended drink, if you're not used to drinking!
Bigass mixology thread on the way.
can you add my very own creation (i think)...
limoncello & cream soda
tastes like lemon sponge cake!

it's incredibly sweet though
I would suggest some whiskey.
Lovely stuff in proportion.
autumn, gold tier alcoholic
To me, it sounded like a guide to be an asshole
Very nice guide OP. Seems pretty spot on with some of the experiences I've had.
Alcohol all tastes way too strong/nasty for me.
autumn, gold tier alcoholic
yes, because enjoying alcohol automatically makes me an alcoholic!

It's a pretty obvious guide, you'd have to be seriously socially crippled to not know half of that stuff.

Even when it's a low concentration?

Even then I just don't like the taste of it.

Sorry if this seems dickish, but I really don't see how people can say that all alcohol tastes bad when there are so many different types with their own flavours. It's like saying all soda tastes terrible
My friend said that all alcohol tasted bad until he tried Amaretto
For me it's something that passes over with time. If I go days without alcohol I'll start to crave the strong sting to it. Although when drinking it I usually end up having to force myself to drink more from the taste.
I'm pretty sure beer taste is an opinion.
Yeah but I get upset when people call piss water "beer"

That sounds absolutely awful.
uh, okay
well i assume lots of people (that aren't you) do like it, as it is quite popular. oh well!
That sounds absolutely awful.
Don't knock it til' you've tried it.

Agreed. Even different brands taste different, e.g Strongbow tastes like vomit, Bulmers tastes like success. Although I tire of beer and cider, Absynthe is my next mission. Also not really super manly but Malibu tastes immense mixed with anything, particularly ice coffee or cream soda, so much so it's really easy to forget how high volume it is.
yes, because enjoying alcohol automatically makes me an alcoholic!
hey i'm not judging, proud diamond tier alcoholic here
Don't knock it til' you've tried it.
Don't mind almonds, but liquid almonds with alcohol sounds bad.
hehe, I was that kid who was too curious for my own good. I started on vodka to learn what alcohol tasted like. Filled a cup with about 1/4 vodka, 3/4 orange juice. Tasted damn good. Side effect? Now everything weaker than vodka I can drink like water, ish.
Alcohol can make you feel good, but getting wasted is a horrible idea. I usually stop at the "tipsy" stage. (2 large-ish shots for me)
For all the other Asians out there with Alcohol Flush Syndrome, that's when your face starts to turn red. Not when you're glowing red like a dragon.

How can you be so sure of that if you've never even tired it, though?
Oh, cool, 1000th post.
