Well, good for Eli at least. Also, I think this is a case where even Jace is in on the joke when it comes to Wu, he does show the occasional moment of self-awareness, and he seemed to be legitimately just toying with her in those Twitter posts. I think even he realized how ridiculous it was to take his threat seriously, but saw it as an opportunity to take the piss out of her and her ilk.
