So I'm going frame by frame with [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYPC-YMdJFI]this video[/url] (it's the Prius crash assassination attempt) to figure out what was going on at the time Jace started recording, and little details.
First off, this is all speculation based on what I see. First, the Prius itself.
Throughout the video the Prius is resting on it's driver's side, with the underside facing the highway. The snow around it is bunched up in lumps immediately around the car itself and Jace's footsteps don't seem to make much of an impact, suggesting that there was a decent layer of ice over everything.
Seconds into the video, Jace kicks something that doesn't seem like it's part of the ice, while rambling that the car couldn't perform. It looks like a box, may have fallen out of the car's driver side window since there does seem to be other things sitting at where the car rests, though most seem to be damaged parts of the external bodywork.
At 0:16, there are two things that can be seen. There's a paper on the left with a blue logo (seen again at 0:43), and to the right of it seems to be discolored snow. Jace did mention that he was bleeding, so that could be the result of blood on the snow.
Two vehicles pulled to the side of the road are briefly visible at 0:27, one with what appears to be active safety lights. The video is too blurry to make out if it is a towing truck, but there is another vehicle right behind it. They may have been witnesses to the crash itself. Of note is that he only ever attacks the car on the side not facing the highway, and only attacks it highway side once. If I were more focused on covering the entire scene than watching the survivor's movements, I probably wouldn't pick up on his aggression as anything other than a great deal of stress that comes with a vehicle crash.
Furthermore, with what we know of Jace's behavior... The "street racing" he mentioned was likely him only speeding up and weaving through traffic. The song choice, though, people try to poin that out as some sort of damning proof, but everybody's been in the mood for something at least once and wanted to put music on that suited it. After all, he was 'hunting Wu down', and I [I]guess[/I] the music was appropriate to him. Hell of a track to break common sense speed limits, though.
I doubt that he actually stole anything, and if he did, Gail may not press charges for it. Why? Somehow I imagine that Jace has borrowed the family car a few times and may be welcome to do so if he needs it. Gail might remind him that he doesn't have a license, but I imagine that Jace simply just brushes it off, takes the keys and runs off anyway. She doesn't take his online escapades very seriously [I]at all[/I] to begin with, and will probably just [I]young man[/I] at him for crashing the Prius rather than press any sort of charges. And that's if Gail doesn't assume that the accident was unavoidable given how bad the roads were.
As well, I imagine that the police department won't do a damn thing to get him help or his situation anyway until they have the full details of everything. But they may just end up with "mentally unstable man off of his medication crashed a Prius" and that's that. The state of his license might not even be considered.
jace is the gift that keeps on giving. Just when I think it can't get anymore insane, he manages to top sending Eli to Israel.
