It's already far more depressing than it was before so I'm ready for just about any other emotion. I never asked to be confronted with this reality. I mean we're just so desensitized at this point. At the same time Gail is somehow able to take care of herself. She owns a house, it appears she's capable of putting food on the table, and while she may be working against getting jace the treatment he needs, she managed to keep him alive this long.

For all we know she could be on welfare herself. Given how old fashioned she is, I wouldn't be surprised if she's never once had a job in the first place and was a housewife while she was still married. It's possible Jace's father was relatively well off and took care of the mortgage before he left. I wouldn't doubt he pays child support either, especially considering Tyce's dad is wealthy and the two families seem to live in the same area.

Alternatively, the cult she's a part of has gone full Jonestown and supports each other financially.
