And the WWE filed a copyright claim over his using John Cena's music in Livestream 9, I believe. So he's not a stranger to being suspended from YT.

There are a variety of reasons why Jace cannot afford to buy and then own a gun that have been covered earlier in this thread. In addition, the bow he was shooting in videos was not his own, and even then its draw weight is likely not great enough to badly injure somebody with much ease. Jace is both a terrible shot, and his form is utterly atrocious. It would involve a great deal of luck if he were to maim or seriously injure somebody with that.

As a writer, the funniest bit is how he thinks that by continuing the story, he's evolving it. Evolving the story would be revisions, new drafts, reworkings, or modifications. In his case, I'd even consider proofreading to be an evolution to his written work, but as it is the story remains static. In an utterly hilarious way however, he is writing in a way that is copying the greats like Kafka and Joyce. He, like both those examples, is writing to himself as an audience. Kafka never wanted any of his work published, it was all for himself. The problem with Jace is, the other rule of writing is that you write to the most intelligent person in your audience; Jace is the only person in his audience, and he just isn't very intelligent.

You know, as an intellectual exercise I just want to see what I could create out of Tiberious Rising. Try to leave the core of the characters and the skeleton of the plot. I wonder what it'd look like, what I could do with it.

It's frustrating to see such an obviously mentally damaged person too far gone to listen to anything you say and surrounded by literally the least helpful people possible. An absent dad, a fundamentalist mom, a priest, and a useless therapist, and to think just maybe you could be the one to fix him, but realizing that a ton of other starry-eyed people looking to fix his shit failed and you'll fail just as hard.
The universe has conspired to fuck Jace, I swear.

FlyAwayNow, I have finished a rough draft of my transmogrification of chapter one of Tiberius Rising. I bring you:
Tiberius Falling
Chapter One
Ramirez squinted against the light that shone through his sight, magnifying distant lives broken by the movements of invisible giants called ideology. It’s what led the arms of the United States to reach so far from home to touch this distant desert with fingers not so different from his own. Fingers trained to reach out and choke out the lives of men. Fingers that had forgotten caresses and made his wife flinch like the rifle he held now. He saw his targets now the way he saw his family that morning in the video conference. The heat he knew to be real then and now was a shimmering mirage to his eyes. They stared unblinking through his scope to the compound whose white walls were colder than the goodbyes he gave his wife and daughter. But beyond those cold exteriors he could see something he knew was precious and worth protecting.
“I see six figures in the tower. Five are standing in a line. They aren’t moving. One keeps pacing back and fourth. He was holding a rifle earlier, but he must have set it down or slung it over his shoulder. I can’t tell.”
“It could be a guard, but more likely it’s Khadir. Remember the briefing? Since he broke out of Bowden, he’s been keen on contact with his prisoners. Likes to apply what he learned in Guantanamo on them. We taught him all the interrogation he needed to know there.”
Striker’s voice was a growl. His vocal chords never fully healed from the shrapnel he took. They thought he wouldn’t make it at first, and then they thought he’d never speak again. It was a miracle when he did and his first words gave him the breath of life. It changed him, but he was already changed by what had happened. He had no hope before he spoke. Stryker must have felt powerless. He wanted to die, and his drinking nearly accomplished that mission. That was one thing that never changed. He always completed his missions. Before it was by the book, but now Ramirez wasn’t so sure.
“The boys will be storming the compound soon, but this is a golden opportunity.”
“Sir?”
“We can take Khadir out now, Ramirez. Take the shot.”
“John, order say to wait until the-“
“If we don’t act now, Khadir could get away! If they hear the shot, they’ll begin the assault now. Take the shot!”
“Sir, we could get the hostages killed.”
“Take the fucking shot!”
Ramirez was no longer looking down the sight of his rifle. He wasn’t really sure who he was looking at any more. Wasn’t this the man he drank beer with in basic? Wasn’t this the man who led his unit through Kabul, preserving countless American and Afghani lives? Wasn’t this the man who introduced him to Isabella? Who stood next to him as best man at their wedding? Who was this man?
But before he could answer this question, Stryker had planted a boot in his gut and pushed him away from his weapon. Stryker took it up while Ramirez struggled to breath. If it weren’t for his plate carrier, the blow might have broken ribs. Time seemed to slow down with each ragged breath. Ramirez could distinctly hear the hot wind quietly pass through the broken building, the creak of Stryker’s glove as his finger began to squeeze the trigger. The weapon roared and then Ramirez heard the sounds of all hell being unleashed.
The silent radio exploded in Ramirez’s ear. Confused commanders called for sitreps and were demanding, “Who ordered weapons free?” The frenzied chatter of Kalashnikovs argued with the cracks and pops of NATO chambered weapons. Above it all, a terrible ripping sound that Ramirez identified as the high rate fire of a GAU-21. Men under fire were yelling for orders and requesting support. Stryker dropped the rifle that was the fatal starter pistol for the assault. He eyes watched it like a deadly snake as he pushed himself away from it.
As soon as the chaos had begun, it died. Squads were reporting casualties and checking bodies. Khadr had been a priority. They were supposed to capture him alive if possible. Command queried if he was among the dead when a tired voice answered a simple, “No Sir.” This was bad. This was very bad. Another voice reported, “We have four hostages intact. Over.” Four hostages? Ramirez had counted five. Then he heard his radio say something that made his blood run cold as he looked at Stryker, “They’re saying the first thing that happened was the last one’s head exploded, before the assault began. Over.”
“The hostages? Over.”
“Affirmative.”

Hahaha, I just thought it'd be a fun little exercise. Take a pile of dogshit and try to doctor it up to make it look good. I'm thinking I'll keep going further on into later chapters which'll be really interesting. Eventually the changes I've made will add up to the point that the story will divert too far from Tiberius Rising and it'll have become something essentially original. I wonder at what point it'll reach that state.
