That is one thing about Jace is that he does have some measure of self-awareness. At times he does understand that some of the shit he does and says is stupid or doesn't make sense.

Jace is also a bit of a more sympathetic figure. A good part of why he is who he is is because of his messed up childhood, is. While Tyce, as far as we know, is just like this from breathing jenkem and smoking baseball cards.
