I totally get cutting them some slack but the hate against ubisoft is very justified.
Things change.
EA used to be a horrible big bad that killed studios. They changed, more or less.
Valve used to be a more than competent first person shooter developed. They changed.
Things change.
Ubisoft used to be a horrible piece of shit company that was the leading case of "Bullshots", sequel-itis, and poor quality control, but that doesn't seem to be the Ubisoft of today. For Honor wasn't sold with any bullshots, Watch Dogs 2 was reviewed to be a pretty decent and interesting game that would actually benefit from another sequel that further removed combat and increased the "hacking" elements. Rainbow Six Siege has seen remarkable support from Ubisoft with constant and efficient patches, reworks, and updates as well as using microtransactions in a 100% non invasive way that will never be required in anyway to keep on a level playing field. Anno 2205 was a relatively thoughtful take on the franchise and has had a pretty good range of decent DLC(From what I've heard).
Really, they've changed. I'm not going to hold it against them. I'll remember they fucked up, but they've been getting so much better.
The Ubisofts recent launch of Steep was also a fun game to play. One thing Ubisoft like to do is open world games full of objectives and that fit Steep perfectly. They just released a new free area of the map as well.
