I don't really care about this. It's literally ratings, get over it.
The fact that this was your takeaway from my post is example enough that you don't actually understand my point or the problem presented. I never said I care about rating changes. I said it was essentially shitpost bait which succeeded in shitting up the thread further.
Real talk I only have no opinion on the whole issue because I don't look at the TF2 section at all so there's not a whole lot of insight I can offer on that front. Hezzy's proposed compromise sounded pretty good though.
when did birthday messages start to get signed off by Hezzy?
RIP TF2's MUS. you did great and you will not be forgotten, nor missed.
First they came for MUS, and I said nothing as I did not care about TF2 updates

Why do we even have a dedicated TF2 forum anymore? Only 9 threads have had posts in them in the last 24 hours
Then they came for the TF2 subforum, and I said nothing as I did not care about TF2
when did birthday messages start to get signed off by Hezzy?
definitely as far back as my birthday
I'd tell people to chill a tad but there's always an uproar whenever ANYTHING changes on Facepunch. I've been on here longer then some kids playing rust have been alive, and if there's one thing about facepunch I can say its "whatever". Shit changes, and in all reality its not a big deal because facepunch isn't my life. Like many normal human beings I've got a job and obligations I need to tend to, and one of the last concerns I have is what happens to whatever sub forum, title, rating, etc. Everythings going to change come newpunch anyway, so there's no sense crying over spilt milk Whatever communities are made here will still exist, maybe in a different part of the forum or somewhere else entirely, but they'll still go on. As they say all good things come to an end, and there's no sense keeping something on life support that's mostly dead.
when did birthday messages start to get signed off by Hezzy?
not sure. it's my birthday today but for the past couple years now I have not gotten the banner :frown:
This subforum isn't near as active as it used to be. Just out of curiosity, would anyone be terribly bothered if we made this subforum also include CSGO, DOTA 2 and Half-Life under the umbrella of 'Valve Games Discussion', and we used new thread icons to set the threads apart visually on the main layout?? / ??? not saying anythings actually happening, just curious
Wouldn't be bothered by it. However the current subforum situation is primarily to blame due to this year's insane update drought. Once the big update launches (probably soon) it will likely explode in activity.

of last year but there was smaller updates on the 21 of october and december
please god no

please god no
what is wrong with grouping valve games together? it's not like you need to participate in every thread for every game b'y. You might even find threads for games you never knew you enjoyed and may even meet some other people. MUS is one thread in one subforum on one forum. You'll live m'son
I haven't thought that the TF2 subforum has been active enough to warrant existing for a long time. All other non-Facepunch games can handle just having a thread, I don't see why TF2 has to be a special case. The only reason it needs more than one thread is because of the Emporium, really (though again, I don't think any other games have something like that). The "best" compromise is probably to have a subforum for Valve games in general, like postal suggested, but even then I think it'll probably only have a few more active threads than the TF2 subforum currently does.
This subforum isn't near as active as it used to be. The ultimate question is what makes TF2 so special that it deserves its own subforum in the first place? It's no bigger or more complex than other team games like Overwatch, which have no trouble functioning within their own individual thread. I don't see that the other 4 named games could possibly merit their own subforums either, so why go from 1 unneeded subforum to 5 when you could just have a Valve game subforum (or even more logically just put them all in GGD where they really belong)
dota 2 just seems really out of place in that group due to it not being a first person shooter like the others, but if there's so much space in the tf2 section itself that's filled with "dead threads", why not just add a dota, half life, counter strike, and ricochet general instead of merging them with tf2's general and only making it more crowded?
but there's no focus on the genre but the fact that they're all made by valve or are associated with valve one way or another
Proposal: We should hold a tournament in a video game between blue members every month or so, 1st place winner gets gold membership. As for what video game, I do not know for sure, but one possible option is Overwatch. People form teams, everybody in 1st place team gets gold membership. Maybe also something like Smash Bros. Maybe somebody else has a better idea than me though. [editline]23rd July 2017[/editline] I guess not then :frown:

This might be useful for after newpunch setup, where game section will have members boosted by such tournaments.
But then, newpunch eat the system. how many people will actually go to newpunch tbh
The idea of adding other Valve games to the tf2 sub seems reasonable, I was worried that the plan was to take the three most popular tf2 threads and just dump them into ggd, which would mean stuff like the weapon balance thread, individual community contest threads, mod threads, and the tf2 screenshot thread would just be thrown under the bus. I don't see any problem with pulling the other Valve game threads into a valve general sub though. Would help unclutter ggd as well.
how many people will actually go to newpunch tbh
I remember checking last week and barely anyone goes there save for rust users. There are even spambots that have posts that are 1-2 days old that haven't been deleted.
when newpunch is implemented i will cease to exist
But there might not even be such a thing as gold membership then? ...Maybe I care too much. :s: The only real reason why I want it is larger avatar.
Community forums can (if I remember correct) create such roles. And newpunch have larger avatar already?
how many people will actually go to newpunch tbh
I do for the car thread.
I remember checking last week and barely anyone goes there save for rust users. There are even spambots that have posts that are 1-2 days old that haven't been deleted.
nah i mean when everything is finalized and this site is dead and newpunch is the only option
nah i mean when everything is finalized and this site is dead and newpunch is the only option
Newpunch is facepunch, no reason not to use. Oops, I mean community will be the same.
