I find it a bit odd that they did a Homestar Runner bit in general. Not saying that it isn't in poor taste as it is, just that Homestar is an odd choice as it's not as old as most RC targets tend to be. It's also not something everyone is talking about, like the targets of RC skits that aren't 80's or 90's shows.
All this accomplished is making me want to rewatch old Homestar Runner clips and enjoy myself, so thanks I guess Robot Chicken.

I know it's a shitty segment and all but I think the people crying plagiarism are jumping the gun a little. It's not like Homestar Runner's art assets are hard to replicate in most cases.
Why do you guys all think this is disrespectful? Unfunny, yes, but I can't really think of anything that would be more flattering than someone making a parody of your stuff and implying it's part of the cultural zeitgeist.
And I thought Robot Chicken was already canceled a long time ago.

Because it's shallow parody. It doesn't even have anything to do with what it's apparently parodying, the entire joke is "Hey, what if all the characters in that thing people like got shot?". You could replace Homestar Runner with anything and it wouldn't change the sketch.
This is as bad as all the shitty follow the leader parody movies that the Scary Movie franchise spawned, where their idea of a joke was for a penguin to appear, someone to say it has Happy Feet, and then they fight.

I think if I spent about two decades working on a deliberately family friendly franchise with just me and my brother working on it, I probably wouldn't take kindly to a much more famous tv show taking my property without permission and boiling it down to what is essentially early 00's newground gorefest trash.
That and it's just a fucking atrocious skit anyway
What's funny though is that like 10 years ago or so Adult Swim approached The Brothers Chaps to do a Homestar Runner show. They declined as they felt they would lose out on their creative freedom and be forced to do what the network wanted, though Adult Swim is kind of lax.
Granted I don't believe the studio behind Robot Chicken is affiliated with Adult Swim outside of them airing Robot Chicken.
