I think Konami would've wanted gambling to stay outlawed because Pachinko machines are designed to be gambling loopholes (kind of like claw games) that become redundant once gambling is actually legal.
Parlors could always support the existing Pachi system and phase in a more direct one at the same time.
I have been pissed at Konami since Ground Zeroes launched. I feel bad for not seeing this shit coming, because Konami has obviously been setting up this whole goddamn scenario. Between the (honestly good) first "episode", the unfinished YET AMAZING MGSV, and then a pachinko machine and a fucking zombie spinoff? They've been planning a coup for a long time, I feel optimistic for Kojima and I wish him the best and will support his future endeavors, because I know whom it was that put their soul into making the games I love and praise. Even if he's an awkward stick-in-the-mud, I know he can do better and recreate his success!
I like how former Konami employees are called "ex-kons". It's so clever because it deliberately paints a negative image on the potential hire because of how it resembles ex-convict. How scummy.
Bunch of assholes
