this will musically be the worst decade ever, even worse than the 90's
Tool, Meshuggah and Opeth are already starting a new era of metal, something that's beyond the current progressive style of metal.
hahahahahaha
Don't care, their early stuff was death metal and now their musical styles and directions are being experimented with
Fuck you if you rated me box
Yes I know that but Opeth don't go under the category of new death metal they are an older band that is still putting out great music, but they aren't a new band.
I'd rather have Thrashcore than the shit Disney produces...
Honestly I barely see the difference between the Disney stuff like Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and all of the deathcore/metalcore stuff. They are both commercialized heaps of shit and they appeal to teens with no taste.
hahahahahaha
Honestly, I haven't heard anything similar to Meshuggah's obZen/I or Tool's 10,000 Days/Lateralus. So many different layers that beautifully combine to a single song that has always something new when you listen to it.
I'm not only talking about metal, I'm talking of making songs that make you always find something new in them. Very good use of polymeters allows the song to have a feeling like it's constantly changing, when the instruments are just playing the same over and over again. Stravinsky used those in the 1910's and they are only now getting widely to the non-classical and -jazz music.
In fact, I'm so lost in this new musical world that I have found basic songs sound just boring.

Then go back to the early nineties and look at Sludge/Stoner Metal bands from that day. Tool is such a wannabeee.

Let me put it this way, if you had absolutely no choice but to choose between the two, you wouldn't be picking Disney now would you?

Would I rather have the 10's be Disney or more -core stuff? I would rather it be Disney because I can ignore the Jonas fags and Miley bitch Montana. -core stuff is too annoying to ignore.
I would rather have everybody listen to disney then everybody listen to deathcore/metalcore because atleast Disney stuff mind there own business. All the deathcore/metalcore crowd think they are hardcore and are always seeking acceptance. It's non stop: "hehe listen to this fucking brutal band called born of osiris hehe listen to this heavy as fuck death metal attack attack"

This happens in alot of other genres as well, it's frankly unavoidable, but you do have a valid point.

I realize it happens in all genres but I only notice it in the metal genre because people recognize I listen to metal pretty easily(I listen to stuff other than metal as well though) and they try and pull all that crap on me.
That's just my opinion though. Who knows what the 10's bring? Personally I hope that the general public leans more towards Electronic Dance Music.

I agree. But mostly because the Disney stars don't affect many people at the high school plus level (there are a few).
As it so happens though, as we exit the age of Disney stars, enter mediocre -core. It's annoying as all sin.
We'll have a popular mainstream genre, and a popular counter-mainstream genre, like it has been for the past few decades.
I'd like to see how both evolve, for better or worse.
It will be known for fucking Black Eyed Fags. Nothing more. Oh, and that stupid bitch that can't spell tick or tock right/

You're pissed off about the spelling?
Led Zeppelin
Megadeth
Lynryd Skynyrd
Def Leppard
Mercyful Fate
I'm sure we could find many more great bands who've used misspelled words.

You spelled the already misspelled Led Zeppelin wrong.
I base this post upon Science :science:
In the Renneasance(Sp?) the music evovled to be more complicated. People invented new harmonics and experimented with polyphonics. Then the Baroque era came, and the music became a lot simpler and straightforward. The whole orchestra would play pretty much the same melody - The music became more "mainstream" and ear-easy.
The same thing happened in the 1960's. Musicians abandonded the complex structures and dissonat chords of Jazz and started out from scratch with punk and new wave-blues. And that evolution has continued 'till today. Music is as streamlined and ear-easy as ever.
My theory is that the music will continue in these cycles forever. And thus, I believe we will see an evolution towards more complicated music, probably through the metal scene that is larger than ever. I hope for dissonant chords, complex song structures, polyphonic melodies and unorthodox rhythms in the future.

Hahaha, whoops!
I think it's been a great House decade :(
I have found a little hope with the fate of humanity in between the buried and me. that there music dosen't get old and they usually combine different gernes
IE: Jazz, Blues, and a hint of polka.
I hear nothing but good things about BTBAM, but I don't much care for them.
The vocals just aren't my style, and they're irritating as all sin. Much like Meshuggah.
