I'd like to see in the next decade a resurgence of Jazz or Blues. Not enough good Jazz these days. [editline]08:03PM[/editline]
Hopefully the return of GOOD metal, like 70s-80s metal. I like the songs from that era.
And this. Deo, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath: they all weep over this new shit.

The return of '80s speed metal. [editline]11:43PM[/editline]
A bunch of high school bands that think they're the best god damned thing ever.
The Beatles started out that way. But, well, they're the Goddamn Beatles.

Rock on.
Stop jerking each other off and listen to some new metal, you'll see what you're missing out on.

Hopefully the 10's will have more tasteful electronic music, it get's a lot of bad reputation because of the over use of auto-tuning and presets.
The last thing thrash needs is to be bastardized by becoming mainstream. We would get shit like "thrashcore"
Well at least death metal is safe........... shit! :frown: Black metal is my only hope!
Hopes: More J-Rock More Good Screamo / Post-Hardcore And that Tokio Hotel dies.
My guess there are going to be more bands like Owl City. Which isn't a good thing at all. All right, MGMT and Phoenix aren't that bad. Better than Owl City.
It's better than poprock. lol
Animal Collective
I predict the rise of vampire weekend. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e0u11rgd9Q[/hd] awesome
Potentially Muslim Punk Rock? News Article I Read on Muslim Punk Rock. KOMO News Be kinda cool, in my opinion. I remember just a year or so ago me and Kamikaze were making fun of Christian rock/metal, wondering why there's no Muslim or Buddha rock/metal. Maybe in the 10's it'll become a reality. :unsmith:
Mastodon. That is all.
Soundgarden reunion.
Animal Collective
I would love that. :3
Anything that isn't rap.
dubstep it's only getting bigger
definitely! it's all i've been listening to recently hopefully got a concert on the 29th, ape at the apollo.
-snip-
I'm sad to say that it'll be known for generic, uninspired pop music. Bring back psychedelic rock!
Extreme metal as we know it will die, and from the ashes of its smoldering corpse shall arise core. An unmeasurable amount of core: grindcore, metalcore, deathcore. Nothing but core.
:suicide:
Bring back psychedelic rock!
Bring back Symphonic Rock too, long songs are the best.
I think OP forgot that the decade just passed doesn't only mean 2007-2009. It is all the music starting from 2000 till 2009. There was a fair amount of decent music at the start of the decade, it just degraded at at exponential rate towards 2008.
Stuff like this seems to be massively popular: Good stuff though.
techno and teenage sex
The dawn of Neo-noir steampunk synth-pop slow jams.
When people realize they been listening to shit and go indie.
the decade is not over.
