Fuck Florida, man. All these great camping sites but if there's more than like two people they won't fucking let you fuck fuck shit fuck florida fuck.
This is why I posted what I did at the top of the page but no one is fucking voting on it. Magnolia Springs has all 3 of those at the top. We're going to go there. It's halfway between Florida and South Carolina in Georgia near the east coast.
I'm really up for any of them. Never left the state of Florida soooo I know fuck all about the world outside of here.
Okay so I called up Magnolia Springs State Park, which is where we're going. These are our two options. For $300 per night, we can rent a Dormitory with either a 16 person cottage with a kitchen or use of the dining and kitchen facilities attached to the Dorm. Dormitories: -Fits up to 50 people in bunk beds -Either Kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils and pots and shit. Bring your own food. -Get use of either attached dining hall and kitchen OR 16 person cottage with smaller kitchen and porch/dining room OR: 16 Person Cottage for $135 per night. Sleeps 16 people in bunk beds with a kitchen and dining room/porch. We can add an extra 6 person cottage for another $100 a night to make it $235. -Fits 16 people in bunks in main cottage and up to 6 people in the smaller cottage -Self contained kitchen with pots pans and cooking utensils Both of these options include hot showers, activity areas, swimming, etc. Linens are not provide so bring your own sheets/blankets/pillows and the deposit is one night's stay, then we pay the rest when we get there. I asked about the Pioneer camping but that didn't sound like something we want. There is NO hot water there. Only pit toilets and cold water showers which may or may not be turned off in May. We need at least 20 people DEFINITELY coming to rent the Dormitory. Otherwise we'll be renting the 16 person cottage and if need be the additional 6 person cottage. This is happening. Fill out the google document I posted in the OP and PM me whether or not you are DEFINITELY coming. Cost of renting this shit will be split up evenly. Cost: Dormitory - $1,500 split between 20+ people Both Cottages - $1,175 split between 16-20 people One cottage - $675 split between up to 16 people [editline]8th February 2012[/editline] That being said I have modified the Google Document form to better reflect what's going on now. If you've already filled it out please go to it and update/refill the form.
At worst, you're talking about $75 per person which is 20 people in the dormitory. For 20 people in two cottages, it would be $58.75 each. Also, both cottages could hold up to 22 people cumulatively (which would come out $53.41 each). And so things worked out with your friend, or might that still be an issue when it gets closer to time? [editline]8th February 2012[/editline] Also, knowing where it'll be, when it will be, and how much it will be really helps. As things are looking for me right now, I should be attending. [editline]8th February 2012[/editline] And to get Daijitsu down from Chicago would be just around $250 for the flight, which would go to Augusta (it was roughly $500 to go to Savannah), with a stop-over in Atlanta.
When I read the title I was hoping it would be in Florida, hoping I could come. ...Georgia? Really? Sorry, can't attend. Wish I could though.

But this is supposed to be about the entire South East, and when it comes down to it, Georgia is pretty well and centered in the South East.
So does no one want to go camping anymore? Seemed like everyone was gung ho until I selected a location then it just died.
[QUOTE=Ven Kaeo;34665829]So does no one want to go camping anymore? Seemed like everyone was gung ho until I selected a location then it just died.[/QUOTE]General Discussion does that. Anyway, it seems to more be an issue of "Well, we got the location sorted, what else is there to discuss right now?"
Uh. Giving me a definite answer so I can make a reservation and collect money?
I should be coming, but its still three and a half months off so I can't garuntee anything. Things can change quite a lot in three months.
I'm going, tell me when you need money, haha
I mean, checking around, I can't think of any issues that should come up, and nothing in the foreseeable future that would stop me, but I never can tell. Put me down as coming though and I'll let you know if something comes up.
Okay yeah no. I'm sorry guys but I'm not going to be able to do this. Talked to my friend and there's no way he'll be healed up from the accident by the time this goes on. He broke his femur, his hip, both upper and lower jawbones, and quite a few ribs. They JUST took him out of the ICU after 3-4 weeks. I was really looking forward to this, too. Perhaps I can start something up around August or September of this year. I should have time then. And since I know where to host it I can get right down to the nitty gritty.
Will there be a Camp FP for the rest of the South? I want to attend, but anywhere but my own state (TX) isn't going to be possible.
Why not go to black river state park? Keep it simple, with tents and what not. Make it over a weekend (friday-monday) and just chill around the camp fire and shit? [url]http://www.floridastateparks.org/blackwaterriver/default.cfm[/url]
