I'll admit, that battery with tinfoil one seems pretty useful.
It would be more useful if it was "AA to AAA" but that's physically impossible, who the hell has more AAA batteries than AA batteries? They usually cost more and fewer things use AAA
If I never thought of them then they probably weren't very big problems now were they?
#6: I've propped my device onto my glasses so that they're at the (supposed) perfect viewing angle but now I can't watch it because I don't have my glasses on. Brilliant. And for #1, how is using newspaper better than having one or two plastic bags to line your bin? Also, does anyone have that picture where someone tried #3 and had their toast launched onto the floor?
Life hack: Shoot little bullets in your head so you can be invulnerable to big bullets
It would be more useful if it was "AA to AAA" but that's physically impossible, who the hell has more AAA batteries than AA batteries? They usually cost more and fewer things use AAA
Not to mention the fact that AA batteries put out more current than AAAs, so by rigging the device with the wrong batteries, you risk the device receiving under-current (that could result in data loss or damage) and you risk overloading the batteries, which might cause them to leak. So good going on that one, fellas.
If you genuinely believe in life hacks and use the term "Life hack" I have news you you [sp]Hint: you are a total dip shit[/sp] it's crap click bait and that's it, it's just stupid 'tips' that aren't actually 'hacks'
Isn't that put a toaster sideways lifehack kind of dangerous?
I don't understand all the flak these things get, at best they're going to be likely improvisations people try out to get jobs done. These are the sorts of things that will eventually go under great scrutiny to see if they actually do the job or not - most of the time they're going to be worse than using something you're supposed to use in a certain situation. Reminds me of the fun I had watching a bridge being made out of duct tape on Mythbusters and you just don't expect it to work at all.
I don't understand all the flak these things get, at best they're going to be likely improvisations people try out to get jobs done. Reminds me of the fun I had watching a bridge being made out of duct tape on Mythbusters and you just don't expect it to work at all.
That's exactly it though. The vast majority of these are completely pointless, a worse and less convenient way of going about it or, as previously mentioned, flat out dangerous. A "lifehack" is supposed to be something where it's like "holy shit that's convenient and awesome and i'm going to use it in my daily life now" but it's typically "Oh man, i just made mustard gas because of that lifehack to make crystals grow and now i'm dead."
What? So the whole time I'm supposed to be angry when watching someone use an apple peeler to shave their moustache or use explosives to remove the tree from their garden? If these things work as an improvisation then that's all well and good, you can't expect every improvisation to go as well as the right way to go about something. Are people seriously demanding that these lifehacks actually improve their life? lol
Obviously if the rice is not in contact with the water then it is not going to work, so just chucking your wet phone into a bowl of rice is probably not very useful. However if you take it apart and put the parts in rice then it will definitely absorb moisture. I'm not sure about starch damaging connectors and everything but I'm sure it can be wiped off or at least is better than having a wet brick.
Oh forgot to mention that if you are desperate then yes dismantle the phone and put it in a sealed container, but use a silica gel pack - one out of a shoebox for example. Those are designed to absorb moisture and will do a much better job than rice with no starch residue. Also after it's dry lightly brush any deposits off the board with a toothbrush before rebuilding - you don't want any impurities causing a short. But remember, temporary. If you see green deposits then forget it and just take the phone to somewhere repairing liquid damaged phones, the liquid's already through the solder and the copper tracks are rusting.
Yes, actually, most people are because that's what lifehacks are supposed to be. Shaving your moustache with an apple peeler and half the shit these people come up with are just common sense or plain idiocy.
Isn't that put a toaster sideways lifehack kind of dangerous?
It also literally introduces a new method for a non-existent problem. If you want a grilled cheese sandwich cook it on a fucking pan. I honestly think that lifehack began as a joke knowing people would forget toaster eject bread.
Hahaha oh christ, Facepunch calm down. You guys seriously care too much that the sheer idea of lifehacks even exist. It's just bad, god forbid someone uses some weird term.
This has become obligatory.
Oh this guy again, I love his "fuck you and go fuck yourself" attitude.
Maddox has been around a long time, i'm glad he's still doing stuff.
every time I watch his videos, Maddox feels like if Abed from Community stopped giving a fuck about everyone else and decided to tell everyone how stupid they are in video form
Not to mention the actual razor/knife is going to be considerably sharper and easier to use. That's like saying "instead of a box of matches or a flint and tinder, i'm going to bring a flamethrower."
pencil sharpeners are sharp as hell dude. Like really sharp. I remember being bored to tits one day, busted my sharpener and started dragging the razor on my desk/textbooks. The damage was heavy
Life hacks from my understanding are supposed to be new ways of doing tasks that make them quicker or easier than the original method, Its now used to describe a process of doing something an alternative way not necessarily quicker or easier. [editline]30th July 2014[/editline]
pencil sharpeners are sharp as hell dude. Like really sharp. I remember being bored to tits one day, busted my sharpener and started dragging the razor on my desk/textbooks. The damage was heavy
The main point he is making is that if you have an opportunity to pack a survival kit a pencil sharpener is terrible in comparison to a knife which you could just as easily bring.
I know i'm not the only person subscribed to crazyrussianhacker to see what stupid shit he's so proud to announce to the world
Do you still remember the very dangerous dry ice AC he made?
Did people seriously not know the Gas gauge one?
no but like I checked and my gauge doesn't even have a side indicator but like how hard is it even to remember it's not like the tank randomly switches sides
"20 Life Hacks To Solve Problems You Never Thought About" If i never thought about them, maybe because they were not problems in the first place?
Hah, my dad tried that Toaser 'Life Hack' a year ago because he saw it on TV. All he managed to do was somehow blow a fuse and knock out the power for most of the house.
