Buy, Sell, Trade Thread V.1 ~In Loving Memory of Upnushi~

Okay so I tried to just twist it off with my hands and it's not budging. Used pliers but all that's doing is leaving a nice scratch groove in the outer barrel. Tried heating it with a hair drier and got it pretty hot, but still not working.
This is the direction I'm supposed to be twisting correct? (Random image)

I feel like I'm going to break something. Nothing is budging even with heat. I can see the line where it looks like it unscrews from right above the handguard holder-in-placer, so it shouldn't be that little hex screw I had pictures of earlier.
-snoop-
The part you're taking pictures of is the handguard spacer, which keeps the barrel centered in the handguard. Its normally attached right to the barrel extension, so you shouldn't need to remove that to remove the barrel. If that's the only thing that appears to be holding your barrel in, give it a nice firm CCW twist.
There's a chance it'll be glued in place, so you may need to apply a lot of force or use pliers. If neither of those works, boil up some water and attempt to submerge that general area in it for a little bit, the heat will greatly weaken the glue.
Turns out all i needed to do was to take off the handguard spacer with a 1.5 allen wrench and then it twisted right off by hand. Good to go!
VANDY, would you sell just the old golf caddy, they are pretty much impossible to find
[editline]18th February 2013[/editline]
and the arm on it is adjustable right?
:^) I can take pictures tomorrow, once you "deploy it" its unadjustable really... the pictures will help explain A LOT.
thanks, but would you sell only the cart thing?
Probably, but its fucking huge and shipping would rape me and you, just as a warning. I would sell the cart for the same with the mortar or without, since the mortar is just a tube with a cap attached to the post.

Well. Now I know what I was doing wrong then. I only have allen wrenches in one size too small and one size too big.
Know any stores that will just sell single allen wrenches?

just buy a nice set dude, if you play airsoft, allen keys are your best friend
just buy a nice set dude, if you play airsoft, allen keys are your best friend
I have a perfectly fine set of allen keys, it's just so happens to be missing that single key. Buying a whole new set I would just be gaining a single key and having a useless pair of the rest.
I'll ask around and see if any of my friends/neighbors have a set.
Alternatively, you can use a smaller allen key at an angle, or the right size flat head screwdriver. It won't be super easy, but this thing shouldn't have much force on it anyways.
when I needed an allen key to fit something really small, like the button for the mag release, I just took my 1.5 and sanded it a bit with a sanding sponge until I could jam it in there.

Wow, thanks. I did this and actually got it off. Bent my smaller hex key a little bit but that's okay. The handguard-holder attachment is off and I can clearly see where the extender screws onto the inner barrel. Can't get it off by hand, so I'm almost 100% sure it's superglued. How long should I hold a hair dryer to it to weaken the glue?
Can you submerge it in boiling water for a bit? That'd help a lot more. Otherwise, just keep trying it every so often.
I don't know how I feel about submerging it in boiling water since the area where it screws on is about an inch away from the fuse and wires.
This is where it should be unscrewing from, right?

Sorry if I'm clogging up this thread.
boiling it would be your best bet, just separate the upper from the lower and remove the barrel.
boiling it would be your best bet, just separate the upper from the lower and remove the barrel.
Uhh.
Removing the barrel is what I'm trying to achieve by boiling it.

i just twisted it right off. If you have like a lighter or something that might work.

Have yours been unscrewed before? Or does JG just like supergluing everything?
Or do I just have the grip strength of a twelve year old girl?
I'll try holding the hair dryer right up to it for a while longer. This is my first time doing any of this sort of stuff so I don't want to irreversibly fire/water damage something by accident.

twist it clockwise, it was a boneyard gun, but only thing wrong was that it didnt have a mag
twist it clockwise
Hold on. notrabies was just telling me to twist it CCW and now you're telling me you got it off twisting CW.
Have I just been twisting it wrong this entire time? WHO IS ACTUALLY RIGHT

have you tried turning it off and on again?

Fuck, I'd been mixing up my own advice here. Twist it right and clockwise. I wasn't thinking clearly, sorry.
[editline]18th February 2013[/editline]
CCW threads mean CCW to put it on durr...
So just to get it right, is this correct? Using my own picture this time.

After almost 2 whole pages dedicated to just unscrewing this outer barrel. I think I'm going to go lie down for a bit now.
Well when you get back, there's good news for you: You don't need even need a new inner barrel to convert your G36 to a C or K. Just get a handguard and the proper barrel bit and you're done.
JG being cheap decided to give you a C-length inner barrel for your full size G36.
jg puts c barrels in all their g36s
Put the full length handguard back on, sure makes firing it sound a lot more intimidating. Should just field it like this for the lols.

But in all seriousness, thanks to everyone who helped (esp notrabies and ultimate). Probably going to take this conversion project to Airsoft Chat so you guys can get on with your trading and whatnot.
