I remember laughing at the Gman like a mad cunt when I was playing Gmod online when it was possible for the first time.

Everyone was just grey freemen and you had to set your name via console, yes?
Who made Kenny the Cop?
Mjnolnir.
I remember in one of the older versions (v6 I believe), there was a construct-like map that had a button pad to spawn geometrical shapes. I had the balloon shotgun to make a giant rectangle float with thrusters to control it. I remember it made my day. Now, it's just fucking hoverballs and go.
I also remember I was so excited for gmod10, and the night before it released, I made watermelon catapults in gmod9 and sabotaged somebody's fort.
Whoa, you got multiplayer working? That's awesome, because I love trying to do something in gmod v7a sometimes, it has such a nostalgia feel to it (Not that current gmod is any worse) but oh boy what could it feel like to play gm_funzone_final on 7.
Or perhaps you are more familiar with "Come fly with me" by dark viper? Those were the fun times.
I'd say that by the look and feel, v7a was the 18th century when everyone are gentlemen drinking tea in a costly manor. Current version, is the space age. I have no idea why we seem to like that stoneage of v7a, but apparently that's the cradle of life in Gmod. Those who were around back then can't help but to respect those times.
Okay I'm a poor philosopher but can I go without boxes?
Gmod comics are dead now.
You are you newcomers with your wire shit and 10000+ lua scripts for anything.
before gmod 10 we had to actually use our imaginations to create things. We didn't have a specific model for everything.
If we wanted a tank, we built one god damnit. It wasn't pretty, it was a junk yard special, but it got the point across.
You probably don't even know what the fuck ent_picker is or means. Leave the old timers to the real garrys mod.
I still make my vehicles out of dumpsters and junk metal. Things like PHX models are convenient, but they never end up looking as cool as slapping a bunch of junkyard shit together.
Nostalgia'd
i remember getting this and freaking out when someone made an NPC
Gmod comics are dead now.
True there were so many good ones but now Everyone FUCKING Kid is making a Video on youtube instead of spending time on ragdoll posing and crack jokes.
Who can forget that damn annoying watermark on the top right corner of your screen.
Whoever posted a screenshot pose with that watermark will be flamed.
Good times. Good times.
I remember V8 3a, first version i joined on, fun as hell. V9 was ok i guess but it just wasn't the same. Too many VMF usage etc. No one builds anything by hand properly anymore.
Yeah, I used to pose ragdolls and shit, for some odd reason I stopped a bit after I switched to gmod 10.. go figure
oh god.
Anyone remember ECS for gmod 9.04b?
My god , that would still be so useful.
Like stacker but 20 trillion times better.

you need more of them
Everyone was just grey freemen and you had to set your name via console, yes?
That too, and when they were texturized Gmen in T-position but instead of turning their weapons and heads up and down when you looked around, their whole body turned. Can't really explain it, if someone else knows what I'm talking about, they can try explaining it better.
my fondest memory is UCRPM in gmod 9. but the best rp i ever had was vanilla rp (no script) on the last version of 8.
If Gmod 7 reminded you of your childhood, then you're still a child.
Roleplaying was so much more fun, gm10 roleplay is shit, the way it's scripted is so that people can't fuck around even if they try, but in GM9 everything was simpler, PEOPLE were shopkeepers, you didn't need to jump hoops for money and the community was better in my opinion, I remember when people thought that pricing Gmod would imporve the quality of the community :(

Congratulations you are on a forum of children
The only problem with Gmod 10 that I have is all the mass amounts of files I have to download to get into a server, only to get there and find out that I'm seeing a bunch of people building with error signs. So I have to go back and review that I got all the right mods and put them in all the right places and make sure I connected them to their SVN and updated them, etc. But once I get in a server with all the right models I can have a blast. Considering, that is, that my game doesn't decide to crash.
[editline]05:45PM[/editline]
I'm pretty sure that's existed at some point.
Thats what it was like in the previous versions... People dont forget there were mods...
