As someone who likes this kind of music I have to wonder how true this generalization is. I mean, I don't think you're wrong, but if I were the one making this kind of music I sure as hell wouldn't want for it to be that simple.
I feel like you could make any artist sound bad if you simplify it down like that. It's silly.
I mean it's pretty clear to me that Filthy Frank understands music theory. The generalization is sort of off-base since those things are just part of the style of music.
His music isn't bad, but I don't see myself listening to it more than once

There's nothing wrong with simple music formula's and I'm not saying that it is badly made, I just think he's repeating himself. If that's what he wants to do, fine by me but I'll be less inclined to follow his music in the future.
This style of music personally doesn't do it for me. I do love his work though; Songs like She's So Nice and Dog Festival Directions are his better songs
Doing the things he wants to do? How dares he! Seriously, the reactions to this are terrible and will probably put pressure on Frank. Yeah, that will surely bring back the good old stuff.
you can call it stupid all you want, but people are extremely vocal when celebrities (primarily actors and musicians) make drastic changes to their content. that's why death metal bands don't go out and make country albums under the same name, even if they want to.
lack of fan service is like committing suicide in the industry, whether you want to acknowledge that fact or not. Filthy Frank isn't just some guy on YouTube making videos anymore, he's an established celebrity.

you can sit and pout about that fact if you want, but this is what happens when a YouTuber starts doing ironman numbers. he's not the kid making rant videos in his college dorm room in Japan anymore.

He should just start a new youtube channel in a gorilla mask while using Microsoft Sam.
