art is up to the interpretation of the viewer; people may consider different things to be art, just as how they may like different pieces of art more than others

anything could be art, whether that 'art' goes for millions or is successful in the public eye depends on how many people deem it to be successful: a piece of art which appeals to a lot of people for some reason is likely to be successful

now whether these people are genuinely inspired and enjoy said art, or are just following others is the interesting part. no, I'm not trying to imply any 'mainstream hipster sheeple' shit - if a large portion of a group like something, chances are more will think the same (by choice or otherwise). someone important might genuinely enjoy something, followers of that person might do the same and so on
