But you can still apply power chords to 95 % of all songs ever made. Nothing wrong with playing just that when starting out. It's like playing bass and just playing the root notes in fourths. Might not be fully accurate, but what the hell! :smile:

It's also good to do because it's really easy to build on.
First start playing just through the chord progression, and move on until you're fully mimicking the whole rhythm. Solos too if you really feel like challenging yourself.
