deppends if I actually like the book or not,a nd how many pages.
I've been reading Under the Dome as well, page 340 or so, been reading it since Christmas. Taking it slow, but I just read about 90 pages in an hour and a half. [sp]The missile(s) just failed at the Dome. That's been the buildup for the last chapter or two so I'm really wondering what'll happen next.[/sp]
I usually finish a 400 page book in 2 days reading for maybe 3 hours a day.
I've been reading The Shining since Christmas and I'm about half way through.
about 40 feet
If the book is good enough and I don't have any distractions I can read about 1000 pages in a day. I actually get slightly depressed after reading because of this.
I read the first LOTR book (Not the hobbit, fellowship) in a month or two reading a few pages every day
Even though I'm required to read books, I do not do it as much as I would like.
I can read a 400 page book in around 6 hours. Maybe even less, I should time myself.
I read the first LOTR book (Not the hobbit, fellowship) in a month or two reading a few pages every day
I read and finished the Hobbit but I couldn't read LOTR, it was absolutely fucking boring.
I've never tried reading a book in a day because I start to feel like a zombie after about 3 hours. Also, fuck the people that say reading is stupid and they don't like books.
It depends how interested I am...I read Angels & Demons in 5 days a few years ago. I can read Redwall in a week, maybe 2 if I am busy with other things. I haven't been reading lately, to my dismay. :(
When im in the mood and its a good book I can read a 1500 page book in 10 hours.
It doesn't take me that long to read a book, I get to interested in the book it goes by so fast. I'm reading a bunch of books by Stephen King right now, Finished The Stand & It in 4 days.
Reading is bad
I'm about the same speed as Ilya. 150 pages an hour, give or take.
Reading is bad
What are you doing on a text-based forum?
I used to crank out one of those "Series of Unfortunate Events" books per day when my family was moving. Two hour drive up, spare time waiting for things to be unpacked, two hour drive back. [editline]11:24PM[/editline]
I read and finished the Hobbit but I couldn't read LOTR, it was absolutely fucking boring.
They're good books, Tolkein just writes in the most boring possible fashion about interesting things. He's like the Ben Stein of the literary world.
100-150 Pages per hour. Depends how good the book is.
In absolute boredom, I can sit through your common, shitty New York Times Bestseller bullshit of about 600 pages in about four hours. But I always read books twice anyway, to go back over little witty details you later learned were related but didn't seem to be at the time.
I'd say... General page number of my books are around 300 ish. Takes about an hour or so for that. Harry Potter books, if read non stop take a day. That includes the 3500 (?) page Goblet of Fire.
well i never read any books only in school when i have to at home never
Fastest I've ever read a book was probably last time I went on holiday. I read Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas (202 pages) in a plane journey that probably took just over two hours. Other than that I tend to read books over a longer period of time - as in, big breaks between picking the book back up, rather than in one go.
I read the final Harry Potter book, half of it over night. started about 1 am. Tried to sleep for 2 hrs and ended it at like 6am. I like to read good books. Other wise theres no point. The road code however is soooooooo boring to read, but I have to if I want my Drivers lisence.
It took me a year to read the first three james bond books, in 2010... The next three are on the menu
Not long at all, I have a stupid habit of not pacing myself if I like the book :( 1k words in about a day I'd say.
It took me a year to read the first three james bond books, in 2010... The next three are on the menu
You better pick up the speed there buddy, I mean you only live twice el oh el oh el. ...:suicide:
I have read books that are about 300 in a single day. What about you guys? I'm currently reading Under the Dome. And about 450 pages in. Been reading it for about 3 weeks.
:raise:
:raise:
maybe its very verrrrry small print.
I don't read books very often. Usually i only read books that i need to read for school (5-10 a year) + every now and then i decide to read a book of my own choice. In the end it makes for around 10 books a year, that's why i'm not a very fast reader. I can read about 1 page per minute, or more if the book has large fonts/small pages. I can actually read a lot faster, but if i do, i tend to forget the words almost as soon as i read them. :words: [editline]01:16PM[/editline]
If it's a bad book, or if I'm not interested, I can 1000 pages or more in 2 to 4 hours. If it's a good book and I'm interested, I usually finish the book within an hour. I'm a really fast reader.
:wtc: that's like 7 seconds per page. Or 3 and a half if you're actually interested in the book. How the hell is that even possible?
Roughly 100 pages per hour.
