Last time I skated was inside a Wal Mart around the toy section and one of the skateboards were unlocked so I used it. It was fun, I'm not a skateboarder but it looks awesome.
You need wider trucks. Prolly my OCD.
The trucks are .12" wider than the board.

Hey, It was cheap, and bloody good value from my view point.

who cares about what skaters are associated with your choice of board, it's the wood that matters. not the social connection
Check out my sassy ass board

I really need a new deck, I just wanted something to get back in to skating and I've about trashed this one already (old pic)
skateboards aren't meant to go down steep non-park hills with rocks
well you shouldn't use something dumb you did as a kid as a reason to say you don't like skateboarding
yeaaah yeAHHH wow so happy, i finally got blunts (pop out to fakie not that rock fakie bullshit) down. i still wobble and shoot my board out sometimes as im coming down but ill get used to it, at least im used to popping and avoiding getting hooked on coping
Skateboarding is gay. Longboarding master race.
But seriously. Who would want to contribute to the stereotype and hangout at skate-parks doing stupid tricks all day and shit. I'd rather race downhill on a longboard. Twice as fun.

past kids never did stupid things.
now kids are genuine assholes who think they have all the "swag(that's the word right?"
Haven't had the motivation for flatground recently, however I have fallen in love with late-night cruises miles way from home, beer in one hand and earphones in, popping ollies up and over anything. Biggest feeling of freedom ever. Also been messing around a lot more stuff on ramps, half-pipes and minis. Learned blunt stalls by accident the other day, everything is starting to click again
Currently setup:
-Zero "Blood Purple" 8.25 which I won as a bet, usually I skate the local A Third Foot boards
-Venture White trucks, bought half price as B-Stock from work
-Spitfire F1 wheels
-Bones Reds (swear by them)
-Grizzly Grip

I prefer longboarding but both sports are standing on a piece of wood with wheels on the bottom, no need to be so condescending.
Set-Up:
Stereo 8.25
Independent Stage 10 139's
Bones 53's
Bones Reds
Jessup Grip
Finishing off my first full part in a shop video, can't wait until I can let my heels have a rest for a while.

Longboarding is fun, but all you gotta do is stand on a board. I prefer to skate because it gives you satisfaction because you know you're getting better and can do things you never did before. I'll never forget my first kickflip.

Btw where do you canadian skaters go in the winter :( I only know one indoor skatepark in my city and it happens to be in the biggest mall on the continent, not so fun when theres 5000 kids there all day every day. I use parking garages sometimes but it's still cold as fuck and wet most of the time
It rained today and I did my first fs 360 powerslide on a longboard. It was actually the first time I did a slide on my longboard in forever, and it was so satisfying since I did something I'd never done.
i don't think i could do much longboarding here most roads are made of dirt

Just swapped out my deck today affter having a 7.4 since I was 12, my feet got kind of big so things got dificult really fast for me at about 14 and I stopped. Picked up skating again like a few weeks ago and couldnt do shit, I switch out to this (8.5/4?) and honestly its made such differance.
Anyone interested in the setup:

Trucks-Destructo (got these in a buargain bin (finding the pair made them cheaper...for some reason) at a jam near London I was just told today there worth like £55, I got them for £15 :L I'll be looking them up soon but can anyone tell me if theres any truth in what i was told?)
Wheels-Flip (I love these things, no idea why there con-caved or what there use is)

How hard is the dirt? If it holds well you could give it a go man :P
no wheels are gonna roll on gravel
there are some really nice lanes around with good paths but they're steep as fuck. too scary especially when cars drive around them (albeit very rarely)

Didn't realize you meant gravel.
Went down to the local skatepark in a loooooong ass time today. Man, I have gotten seriously out of shape, I was heaving after trying fakie backside heelflips for ten times. (Even though it was 16C with a cool breeze rollin) I remember when I used to play S.K.A.T.E for hours long years back, gotta get my stamina up. Weird thing is I still can't get kickflips 80% on lock after years of skating, even though I've got really advanced stuff like inward heels and switch flips pretty much on lock, tried to mess with my footing a bit but no results so far.

Talking about first times with tricks, I'll never remember when I did my first heelflip, just was talking with some friends who were sitting on a bench, fucking around with my board n stuff and then I got the idea to try to do a heelflip, somehow I got the footing just right and I landed it smack jab on the bolts with a nice catch. My friends who were also skating newbies freaked the fuck out haha, I was the hero of the day.

Are you from London?
Are you from London?
Nope, I live in cumbria until I go to uni.
My gear:
7.5 anti-hero deck
55m spitfire classics w/ split bearings
Independant trucks
Pretty heavy but carries well in vert, plus it holds up to longboards in means of travel. The wheels are like 15 years old, pulled them off my brothers old banana board. They haven't worn down a bit either and ride amazingly. I need new trucks though lol.
I also have a Powell-Peralta Mcgill banana complete. Re-issue, but sick nonethess.
How do you like your classics? I hear their supposed to be really good wheels.
How do you like your classics? I hear their supposed to be really good wheels.
I've heard great stuff about them aswell, with the exception that they flatspot too easily.
Started about 2 weeks ago, standing ollies are nearly down, just need to work on the height of the back wheels. Practice practice and more practice really.
-8" Plan B P2 Deck
-Thunder 147 Team Trucks, low
-Bones 52mm wheels
-Bones reds bearings
-Mob grip
Some random guy who used to be semi-pro came down and found my group of friends and I the other day, he took my board while I wasn't paying attention and did some cool stuff. It's christened now I guess. He said thanks and said it's a nice setup, was a good day overall.
