the "wrestling is fake" stuff is referring to the heel/face and feud stuff, not the actual matches (which are scripted and choreographed but the blows all land). professional wrestling is somewhere between brawling and theater

There's a ton of other promotions you could check out, though. I highly recommend Lucha Underground. It's fucking insane and a fresh take on Lucha / Wrestling.
