Perhaps some post-processing filters could be modded in?
I wouldn't be surprised and it should be easy, something like the Injector or SweetFX could easily add shit.
why can you not change the texture resolution? it looks literally the same other than missing most light sources (and the ones that are there have a lower shadow map)
there's a setting for it separate from the rest of the graphical settings for some reason
Ubisoft made everything sound as if the city was your playground and you could do whatever you wanted. They even said you could be villainous or heroic with the decisions you make. Shit like this REALLY strays away from that..
It also looked like the first Ubisoft game that didn't strike you with lightning if you killed 3 civilians in a row, Ubisoft open world games would always warn you about harming bystanders, but apparently gutting guards in Assassin's Creed and gunning down your allies in Far Cry 3 is okay?? [editline]25th May 2014[/editline]
It leaked
Insta-jelly. Desperately wanna play.
I played it and it's very mediocore to be fair. All the deep interactions and shit shown at E3 is not a thing in final release. You can't even punch or fight pedestrians. Only baton hostiles. And when you commit a crime the mini-game to avoid detection or escaping cops is very mundane. It discourages you from committing crime which sounds good on paper but makes things a lot less fun in the process. One strange thing I noticed is how game does weight. When you get in a car your car will weight a lot more and push others apart as if you were a fast tank. Once I died near a car and my ragdoll pushed the car to the side lol. Aiden let himself go for sure. Oh and on PC keyboard and mouse controls are not very good. There's mouse acceleration you can't turn off.
you can fix the mouse accel in the configs http://www.reddit.com/r/watch_dogs/comments/26c0v3/mouse_accelaration_fix/
So I can play with the graphics of either Sleeping Dogs on high or Saints Row 2 on low depending on my PC.
Saints Row 2 on low is more demanding than this game is on Ultra. Fact.
living in chicago, i was pretty excited for this game since no game pays any attention to chicago for whatever reason, but apparently its not turning out so well pretty disappointing
it looks like gta iv on low settings
Fuck I regret pre-ordering this. Why cant companies sell the games they show in trailers anymore? Instead they give us luke warm dull shit compared to what the game was advertised as.
Fuck I regret pre-ordering this. Why cant companies sell the games they show in trailers anymore? Instead they give us luke warm dull shit compared to what the game was advertised as.
never trust trailers
never trust trailers
What can we trust anymore? There aren't demos anymore, and reviewers are a mixed bag.
What can we trust anymore? There aren't demos anymore, and reviewers are a mixed bag.
Trust who you trust? There are good reviewers out there, just find a handful who share your taste in games and follow them. I'm a grab bag of a couple people out of Giant Bomb and just doing research on the game myself. It's not a hard concept.
it looks like gta iv on low settings
no it doesnt

y'all are nuts, this games looks easily as gorgeous if not slightly better than grand theft auto 5 [t]http://i.imgur.com/cUEVOou.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/4ZakEB6.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/WY6tD70.png[/t] [editline]25th May 2014[/editline] also, holy hell dat water [t]http://i.imgur.com/lvJz912.png[/t] screenshots really dont do this game justice. you have to see it in motion to get the full effect
Fuck I regret pre-ordering this. Why cant companies sell the games they show in trailers anymore? Instead they give us luke warm dull shit compared to what the game was advertised as.
This is why I don't preorder shit any more, after getting burned by Rome 2 quite frankly I've had enough of trailers looking way better than the finished product.
Pre-ordering in the age of no demos and no review embargos right before release is just reckless.
y'all are nuts, this games looks easily as gorgeous if not slightly better than grand theft auto 5
Slightly better than GTA V isn't saying much. GTA V can be really ugly. Watch_Dogs looks pretty in that last screenshot though.
It could look 100 times better than GTAV but the problem is there's nothing to do outside missions.
I got around to trying it and while it's an... "okay" game, I played a bit of the campaign and it just didn't attach to me. None of the characters felt very compelling or interesting. So skipping on the campaign I decided to just have fun. The game doesn't let you. I can run over civilians with a fast car, but the game punishes you severely for it. You can't start fights. The whole "hacking" thing is fun for all of 5 minutes, but after looking at randomly generated names, salaries, jobs and anecdotes, hacking their bank accounts with the click of a button, and stealing the money from an ATM it just gets a bit same-y. Same with hacking anything else. You can make things explode, but that loses its humor quickly. You can listen to phone conversations but it's not very interesting. Missions (both campaign and side ones) have a MISSION ZONE, which I think is bullshit and I thought we were over that shit since long ago. If you leave the mission zone you fail and have to redo it. NPC interaction feels puppeteered, nowhere near as good or fluid as it looked in the E3 demo. Graphically, it's pretty dull. I could max it out completely and it still ran like a dream no matte what, which is impressive, but I wouldn't call this "next-gen". Also the lipsyncing looks really weird from time to time. Overall, "meh". Didn't live up to the hype.
It could look 100 times better than GTAV but the problem is there's nothing to do outside missions.
Well of course not, the game isn't out yet so there's no multiplayer.
Well of course not, the game isn't out yet so there's no multiplayer.
GTA 5 Multiplayer died out pretty quickly, to be honest.
GTA 5 Multiplayer died out pretty quickly, to be honest.
It's not the same though? It's more akin to Dark Souls from what I've seen with the whole invasions thing, am I wrong?
It's not the same though? Basically wreck havoc for a few hours and then log out. Give people cars and ragdoll physics and that's what it will boil down to eventually.

Overall, "meh". Didn't live up to the hype.
This was my worry since the E3 thing ages ago when they revealed it, the whole annoying NPCs by hacking their bank acount whatever gimmick would just get boring really quickly compared to GTA where you can skydive out of a military jet and start gunning down civies with a minigun, there just isn't much to do outside of missions This is why Sleeping Dogs also got pretty old after the story was done, everybody just wants to cause mass mayhem like GTA, Saints Row or Just Cause I'm pretty sure the E3 mega hype was just his big flappy jacket in the next gen rain because the gameplay didn't look interesting at all
True, but I've got a feelings it's gonna end up in a fashion similar to what GTA 5 Multiplayer is right now. Basically wreck havoc for a few hours and then log out. I suppose we'll see.
I been following this game lightly, but from what I'm reading here, this just adds more fuel to fire on why you shouldn't buy into hype, but tbf I don't anyway, I can't even remember what the last game was I preordered.
Another game with massive potential, completely ruined. I'm so glad that Im 25 now, and have more things to do than just play videogames. If all this horrible quality videogame crap would've happened when I was 15 I'd be dead now. I mean... they had the time to create, distribute and ship 10 different preorder packages, which need a frikkin table to explain what they do and do not have, yet an option to turn off mouse acceleration was too much to ask? Also, I feel like showing off features in marketing material that aren't present in the final release should be accountable to massive fines. If I preordered this, which I haven't, I'd be pretty pissed right about now.
Isn't this the leak? Wasn't the graphics locked to "console mode" or something like that. Or was that just Ubisoft trying to save its ass.
