Gambling isn't terrible as long as you're responsible and set a spending limit for yourself! Most people who lose money already have addictive personalities to begin with and don't know how to manage their money.
As long as you're smart about it, you can definitely turn a profit.

Guaranteed way to turn a profit from gambling
Step 1: Open a casino
Sitting on 25k in the bank and my total monthly expenses are around $350 (only child living at home). I make 42k a year pre tax, and I'm planning on moving out this summer/fall...to somewhere unknown, it depends where my gf gets a job.
I'm not really sure how I should make this cash work for me, I'm not sold on tying it up when my immediate future is cloudy, so I've just been hoarding it.
I could also sell my impractical vehicle and net another 8k. I have two cars. What to doooo
I would dump the second vehicle. Cars are big liabilities, and there are few instances where having a second vehicle is Financially beneficial. Exceptions may exist, however, if the second ride is generating income that exceeds it's costs, such as if it is required for work or you are able to rent it out (private car rental services exist, look into them!). It's not worth the extra risk, in my opinion, to keep the second vehicle if you only have it for fun or ego. Keep the less expensive utilitarian vehicle, dump the less useful and/or more expensive one. Your budget will thank you once you move out.
As for your healthy savings account, that's great news! I Wish I could offer some specific advice on what to do with it, but that's a big dang question! You could use it as a down payment for a house, invest it, set it aside for extended living expenses, start a business, or any number of things. At the end of the day, the only good advice I can give you is to take some time to seriously consider where you want to take your life and how best that money could be used to steer you there. Once you have a good general idea of what you want, go see a financial planner. Many offer free services to individuals! He or she can help you lay out a more specific framework for how to accomplish your goals.

I think it's probably best to operate under the assumption that any money you take into a Casino with the intent to gamble is already lost. You wade into some dangerous waters when you start thinking of gambling in terms of investments.
I just registered to vote, but I'm lost, as most of my family doesn't participate in politics. I need to figure out exactly what I need to do from here on out.

Where do you live? Your area may already be closed for primaries, and the deadline for November voting varies.
But other than that, you wait until it's voting day, go to your precinct, and vote. Should take all of 15 minutes.

West Virginia. We're still open until the 19th. Our primaries are May the 10th.

Primary Election Deadline: April 19, 2016
General Election Deadline: October 18, 2016
So register for the party you're going to vote for in the primary, since WV is a closed primary. Go to the polls on May 10, fill in the bubble, go home. Repeat in November.
It's really effortless to do if the lines aren't long. You show an ID, you get a ballot, fill it in, throw it in a machine, and go home.

What part of the phrase the house always wins do you not get lol
Unless you're counting cards you're probably better off playing the stock market then you are a casino
It's not a reliable source of income and I wasn't alluding to it being one.
Just because you can sometimes make more than you came in with doesn't mean it's guaranteed.
You'd have to be stupid to believe that.
-snip, wrong thread-
After moving out of home last week.. I find that I have even more money sitting in my bank than I had before.
I am still scratching my head as to why.

Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised at how little the move has cost so far as well. Like, the expenses are definitely starting to add up, and we haven't done our biggest projects yet, but with all the minor stuff almost done we're ahead of track. Hopefully we still will be after replacing the tub and water heater and refinishing the floors. We're doing as much of it as we can ourselves, but we are going to have to get a contractor in for the water heater at least, and probably the tub as well.
I'm currently a full-time student working about 16h/wk at a convenience store paying $9.50/h. Soon, I'm going to be on-break and have the ability to go up to full time hours, however I would like to get a higher paying job elsewhere. Problem is, I don't really have any qualifications at all and my education is not in something I would believe to give me any qualifications for any job. Is there any way for me to get a certification or experience in something so I could qualify for a higher paying job? Barring that, have you guys had any experience in making money on the side that might help me out a bit?
Hi I'm graduating from university with a worthless humanities degree and work experience consisting of nothing other than Burger King and Walmart. How do I make the first few years of being a real adult not drive me to insanity and depression?

Why did you get the degree if you knew it was worthless?
You may look into a temp agency. They find employers who need temporary positions filled, part or full time, and connect them with employees. It can be a good way yo build up some professional experience, and can in some cases lead to more permanent employment is impressed. Most of the work is entry level stuff. For example, an administrative assistant answering phones, doing data entry, etc.
Pay is going to depend on your area and the jobs you qualify for.

I didn't know what I wanted to do other than I knew I didn't want to go into a trade so I had to get a degree if I didn't want to be stuck working minimum wage forever. And since I'm shit at math and science, this was my only option. I'm pretty sure I fucked up, but I'm hoping that I have a chance to turn it around.

What marketable skills do you have? You probably picked something up during your degree, like writing.
Service Endorsement Alert:
If you do any online shopping from mainstream sites, like Amazon, Newegg, etc then I would highly recommend checking out "Paribus."
Many websites offer guarantees to match their price points if the price of an item you have recently purchased drops, meaning that if a $50 item drops to $40 X weeks after you bought it, you are entitled to a $10 refund. Paribus is a service that keeps track of your purchases and automatically files refund claims when it detects these opportunities. The best part is, the service is essentially free in the sense that it simply takes a percentage of the refund as its cut, so you're paying for the service out of money you wouldn't have gotten back without it anyway. If it doesn't find you any refunds, you pay nothing.
It's pretty darn handy! It has t saved me any big bucks yet, but as a regular Amazon shopper I've gotten a dollar or so here and there pretty regularly since I signed up. It's always a pleasant surprise, since it's completely hands off after the sign up process is complete.
Here is a link to the website, where you can sign up or read more info.

Go look for a trade that you'll enjoy. The degree may not help you get a job in regards to it's content but it does make you look good. Which means you're more likely to get hired. I do landscaping and no math needed and you get more than minimum. Of course look for something you'll enjoy and if you have a job you want try to get that.
It isn't just limited to the labor end either as office workers are needed in most company's.

Just watching an Australian show on ABC called The Checkout, and they mentioned an nifty government run website I never knew existed.

The information might not entirely be pertinent to your country, but some of the casual advice might be good if you are trying to cut corners on spending.
This page in particular might be of use:

I think the hardest part for me right now is just trying to figure out what i can do, Employment wise. Pretty much a nightmare right now, i've been trying to stay away from having my job consisting of computer stuff since that would have me on a computer for pretty much my waking moment, although i do feel more confident with computer stuff than trying to find a retail job for the third time. Everything's up in the air though and i'm just trying to figure out what my plan is.
Trying to find a job through the internet is just downright depressing.
Would i be better going back to college to learn IT/Admin or find a paying Apprenticeship on IT/Admin stuff?

It seems like finding a job sitting at a computer all day is a last resort for you. If this schooling can perhaps change that work style, go for it!

Any particular reason why?
Welp, after being worried how I was going to go about paying off my medical bills it looks like I'll be able to pay them all off after only two months instead of six, between my HSA and actually making an effort to be frugal the last month. I'm just glad they waited to send the bill during a month I get paid three times. The random gift of $400 from family helped quite a bit too. Family can be pretty great.
Someone please tell me the secret to getting cheap car insurance. All of my buddies have 2015 cars and pay less than 100 a month for full coverage, meanwhile my completely paid off 2015 honda civic is getting quoted for 200 a month at progressive, and Liberty Mutual won't even cover me because of a 10 over speeding ticket from almost 3 years ago.
I'm currently with Geico paying ~120 a month for full coverage, thought for sure I could get it cheaper elsewhere without going to liability only coverage.

My 1953 GMC school bus that was converted to an RV gets liability coverage for $150 a year.
So after applying for a credit card, I found out I apparently have a bill that was sent to collections. Some $15 copay from my old university medical center from about 4 years ago and I moved around a lot so never got the bill. The collections company has never contacted me about this, only reason I found out is my credit card app was declined due to it. Any advice on how best to proceed? Who do I contact to pay?
