I have this weird skin thing going on, I don't want to go to the doctor because that's a huge money sink just in case it turns out to be nothing, but at the same time if it was something important it feels like now is the time to be doing something about it. Do you guys have any advice?
It's in an inconvenient spot, I'm spoilering this in case people think it's gross or whatever.
[sp]basically there's a small patch of chicken-skin that one day just suddenly appeared on the underside of my dong out of nowhere and none of the skin care things I've tried so far have done anything to it.[/sp]
I really feel like this is something I should be worried about, I mean that's the one part of the body you don't take chances with.
If you've tried skin-care products already, I would def go get it checked out if it's bothering you.
Might be a money-sink but sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry. And a doctor can probably recommend something that'll make it go away.

If there's anything outside of the ordinary near/on the jewels, you should definitely get it checked.

Dude, you go to the fucking doctor ASAP and you raise your donger and get that shit checked. Maybe it could be a rash because you've been whacking it too much (:v:), but if it's something more serious, you'd want to catch it early, especially so if you're sexually active.
I'm probably overdue for a general checkup, anyway. That way I can at least justify the expense, I'll be there anyway, ask the doctor to look at it, worst case scenario they say "I don't know, I'm not a dermatologist" and do nothing.

Is it not wart?
My name is Dylan Raub. You may know me as Raubana.
You may know me as the guy who made the demo songs Cool Nights and LIFE, which are found in FL Studio. You may also know me as the guy who made the Weeping Gman addon, the Clock Blockers gamemode, or more recently the Attack Of The Mimics gamemode.
I’m at a point where I need to make a decision about what to do with my life, and it’s a decision I need to stick to. I’d like if you guys can give me some advice and direction, because I honestly don’t know if I can make it myself.
MY SUCCESSES
Back in middle school I wanted to make video games, but I didn’t know how to program. It was during this time I was introduced to my first programming language, python. I studied a module for python called pygame during my time in middle school, and by the time I’d started high school I’d already completed a couple of small games.
In high school I knew enough to be able to start the programming classes early, although the school couldn’t allow a freshmen to take any of those classes, so I had to wait like everyone else. I excelled in every programming class they had, as I already knew most of the material.
I graduated from high school in 2012. After high school, I spent some time working on a game called Jak Attak, which was based on a flash game I’d made back in middle school. I made a new iteration in python using pygame, and it was actually pretty good, if I do say so myself. I even implemented a time travel system for the game. Here's a video of both python versions of the game.
Late in 2012, I decided to try out Ludum Dare. That was a mistake, the contest requires you to make a game in so little time. I don’t even want to mention what I placed, that contest is ludicrous. The point is that this was my first game programming contest ever, and it didn’t go so well.
In 2014, a friend of mine convinced me to tackle a pygame contest called PyWeek. I’d known about PyWeek since I was in middle school, but I’d never considered competing myself, since I’d always known I was not good enough. However, at this point in my life, I knew I was ready. I competed in PyWeek #19. I created a game which I called The Never Ending Dungeon (which was a misnomer, but that’s not really important.) I did the game all by myself and ended up placing 2nd in the contest! I was genuinely surprised.
Some time in 2014, I started looking into Garry’s Mod. I’d looked at it before, but it’s complex and messy. After much trial and error, I finally started to make some headway, and by 2015 I managed to create my first addon, which was The Weeping Gman.
In early 2016 I started working on Clock Blockers in Garry’s Mod. I originally thought what I wanted to do was impossible to do in the source engine, but I actually managed to get it working! I used a lot of what I learned from Jak Attak to do some time travel stuff in the gamemode. Before I knew it, I had created something pretty awesome. But I never released the gamemode because I wasn’t prepared for people to scrutinize my code, plus I just didn’t feel like it was ready.
Here's a video of an older version of the gamemode.
In mid 2016, I started working on a contest called The Pancake Games. The idea would be that people could program their own team and their teams would compete autonomously. I even designed an entire programming language just for the contest. Sadly, the project was never finished. Here's a video showing simulants running on Pancake Script competing against each other.
Late 2016, I started experimenting with horror game modes. I created something relatable to Dead By Daylight which was called Cold Blooded. It was a game where you would be either the predator or the prey, and the levels would be procedurally generated for every match. Once again, the project was never finished. Here's a video of that gamemode.
Sometime in 2017, I got my associates in Applied Science in Programming. The degree has sat in its envelope on my shelf since I got it in the mail.
Finally we reach the most recent events. In mid 2017 I decided to compete in the Gmod Store Gamemode Contest. I started very late into the contest, and after scrapping two gamemodes, I ended up settling on a horror game that is comparable to Prop Hunt which I called Attack Of The Mimics. At that point I had only two weeks before I’d have to submit my gamemodes, so after much work and help from a talented mapper, we managed to place 2nd in the contest, winning a little over $1,200 USD.
MY REALITY
Overall, I think I’ve done well for myself in regards to making games.
But reality is a bit more harsh than these cherrypicked events. I’m currently 24 years old, I’ve been living in my parents basement for a while now. In reality my life has not budged since I graduated high school. Right now I’m currently working at a fast food restaurant, and I was recently fired- well, I had my assignment terminated- for my second job that I had through an employment agency. I’m not making any income, I have depression, and pretty soon I’ll have no choice but to move out, weather I’m ready to or not.
A lot of people say they don’t know what their doing with their life, but I really REALLY don’t know what I’m doing with my life. So I’m asking for your advice on the matter. I have a few ideas of what I’d like to do, but whatever I end up doing I’ll have to stick to and hope it ends well for me.
I’d love if I could keep making video games. If I could work with an indie game programmer, even if it means I won’t be making games that I’d came up with, I’d be happy. I just don’t know who to ask for advice on the matter. I don’t want to do commissions though, especially nothing involving python or Garry’s Mod. I suspect that wouldn’t end well for me.
Anything else, I’m not sure yet, but I’m open to suggestions. Please, I need guidance.

So I'm in school to be an Audio Engineer and I had the same kind of problem that you have about doing commissions and I may guess some freelance work. In the music industry right now it's all about your resume and projects that you've finished because they see that you have jobs under your belt and if they can contact the people you've worked with and they're pleased with the work you put out then you'll be set. I don't want to work with some random "up and coming" rap artist that thinks they're the shit but I still do it because it makes me a better engineer and lets me learn how to work with different people.
You can't start at the top, you gotta work you way up and that usually starts with doing shitty work that you don't want to do but it'll pay the bills.

I hear you, but I'm not an audio engineer. I don't know how similar our situations are or will be, I don't even know if I'll be able to pay my bills.

I work at fast food place rn, I also do some simple recordings for other students for cheap to pay rent. You have to either find someone who is in the industry that can help you or just put your shit out there until you have a strong portfolio and places will want to hire you.
Whatever you do, find a job that can put enough food on the table and a roof over your head first. Preferably something with enough time for a hobby/project like a shift-based job, or 9-5
Then, we can start thinking about other things, like making games, or find another game-making job.
Don't worry, just having a job to sustain your life is a noble enough life goal to work for. Everything after that are just self-fulfillment, just a nice-to-have
So now I'm 26, am still in school so I'm technically jobless, don't make enough of an income to afford a regular insurance plan, don't qualify for Medicaid in Texas, and I have prescriptions that I need to have in order for my disability to not affect my daily life.
I have no idea what to do. There's student health insurance but even that requires a 400 dollar upfront fee and a 200 dollar monthly fee which I can't afford.
If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it. I'm pretty lost.

This might be a bit of a stretch but check to see if your university has any positions? I work full-time at the university I attend in the security department and get a set amount of free hours as a benefit, though I'm pretty much limited to only attending half time. Your university may not offer the same benefits, but similar benefits aren't all that unusual, and are sometimes even better.
I would but between classes twice a week, the homework that comes with it, my internship, my freelancing work, helping to care for my one year old niece, and the tiny, extremely flexible part-time job that I DO have, I literally have no time to have another job.
My freelancing pays a little bit but it's obviously not guaranteed.
I'm doing my first investment deal, sort of! Really, I just acted as in intermediary, connecting buyer clients interested in a rehab property I found for them to my investment partner (who will coordinate the actual rehabilitation). There's no money to be made out of this deal for me, aside from the commission for selling the home, but it's an exciting opportunity to put what I've been studying into practice, as the financial foundation of the deal was based on my research and estimations combined with the rehab budget provided by my partner.
Seeing this deal through on budget and on time will act as a proof of concept that I can take the same methodology to other properties and make a profit. That said, I have no concerns about this NOT working out, short of the buyers being unable to obtain financing, because the financial details are as simple as can be. The After Repair Value is a reasonably well established $155k, based on my research into comparable properties, and the repair budget is $40,000. Thus, I was able to go to my buyers and tell them, "you need to purchase this property for $115,000 to get it at fair market value. Every dollar below that is equity in your pocket."
Armed with the numbers, I was then able to take that to the seller and negotiate a purchase price of $105,000 (asking price was $119,000) by making the case that the repair estimate was only for work that we knew needed to be done, and that the risk of undiscovered defects justified the $10,000 padding the budget. Of course, if I were purchasing this as an investment property, rather than trying to help my clients get a good deal on a home they get to design themselves, I would require bigger profit margins to make this truly worthwhile.
Still, I'm chuffed! Not to pat my own back too vigorously, but it was well researched and very well negotiated. I'm feeling very confident in my abilities, and am eager to see how to the next 45 days plays out. On a successful rehab coming in at or under budget, I'll know that I have what it takes to do this on a larger scale.
Started my second year of college on Wednesday and I've hit the ground running.
- At 205 pounds I'm back on a diet. (the same one that led me to lose 15 pounds (200 lbs to 185 lbs) in my first semester freshman year)
- I've started working on improving my study habits. (Boo, reading-heavy classes)
- I've increased my involvement at the student TV station and satire magazine.
- I'm ready to have a great fuckin' year.
Anyone have any Resume/job searching advice? I've been looking and applying for jobs for the last 3 months and i've only had two interviews. That's after sending out applications for probably 50+ jobs at this point.
Probably need to send more applications out, and fix your resume potentially. It sucks, but it takes an absurd number of applications to get anywhere sometimes. What jobs are you applying for? What experience do you have?

How your resume is formatted can end up being more important than what is actually on your resume. If the formatting is a mess or it's just one big essay then it's sending a sign to potential employers that you are unorganized or unable to be concise. You want it so that potential employers can quickly glance at the resume and find whatever it is they are interested in immediately; whether it be education, work experience, or highlights such as project experience.
Whatever you have on your resume isn't going to help you get a job if the recruiter dislikes the format and tosses it without actually reading what's on it.

Also if they give you the opportunity to submit an "optional" cover letter then you submit a cover letter, it isn't really optional unless you don't want to hear back from them.

Quick update but between adjusting my eating habits, walking literally everywhere, and accounting for other factors to my weight I'm down 2 pounds in the last week, progress is already looking good
If anyone's curious what I'm doing, I've done it before and I've proven it to work; get the MyFitnessPal app and log everything you eat. It gives you a calorie and macronutrient goal for most efficient weight loss with whatever amount of exercise you get, and lets you look up food by brand or scan the barcode. If you're a fan of home cooking logging food might be more of a slog (scanning/searching every ingredient is a pain but you can save the recipe when you're done) but I promise it's worth it.
Also, don't let the app access your phone's pedometer and subtract calories using your walking data. It's usually way off the mark, and if you're burning 300-500 calories a day from walking without accounting for it, it just means you're effectively eating your calorie goal minus that, which equals quicker weight loss.

I've taken a half semester class on making a resume so I know how it should look and my cover letters for jobs are pretty good. (After 4 years of writing at a college level I hope they are good lol)
A photography related job would be great. I've applied to everything that I could out here. It doesn't help that I live in Las Vegas but at this point im just applying for anything that's paying around 12-14 and hour. I know its going to take time but I just don't know if im the norm right now of not finding work or if im doing something wrong.
the photo is bad imo
the email/web/phone thing is cluttered and hard to grok easily

Lol good. My mom did it for me and insisted that my old one looked like crap. Going back to the old one for now then.
And my school had me make it like the one posted above mine. Good thing I still have it. My main problem then is my font, I love the one thats above the post.

This is pretty good, it's clean and not too flashy but also fairly informative.
I'd stick another line or two into the "Skills" section to better balance the page out, even if that means bullshitting another two lines into existence.

Seems to be a mom thing.
