I'm extremely tired right now but I'm scared to go to sleep, every night I have extremely depressing dreams about people being forced to do things/people dying/people comitting suicide/me making people commit suicide and other things
Is there any way I can go to sleep and not have any dreams?
:(
I don't think this makes you messed up in the head. Frankly, I don't think there's anything wrong with you.
We all go through this phase where we're fearful of death and picture those we know dying in our dreams. If not our dreams, we still think about it at least once in our life. It's really the only way to get comfortable with the concept of death.
Dreaming that your committing suicide or you're making others commit suicide could imply a fear for your life, or for those around you.
I'm no dream interpreter or psychologist, but that's the most rational reason I can think of behind your dreaming patterns.

Being scared to actually go to sleep because of that really reinforces what I said, too.
Any GTA game. San Andreas will keep you up sometimes.

Listen to this before you go to sleep.
this, or the The Dark Side of the Moon, in its entirety.
only way i managed to get to sleep many a time.
I thought this was going to be something about the "Generally Just Fucking Creepy Stuff" thread...
Try listening to music, and if it's really bad you should talk to your doctor about getting something to help you sleep.
Also, if you find yourself wide awake in the middle of the night, just completely unable to sleep, read. I've got a bunch of Calvin and Hobbes books right next to my bed for just such an occasion
Play Dead Space. It's very good for relieving stress and calming you down.
I have similar dreams. They always involve me being forced to kill someone or to kill myself. I really don't think they are stress related at all. I think maybe they might have something to do with a feeling of wasting your life or wasting other people's time. I'm no psychiatrist though. If that doesn't help just know that you are not alone OP.

Meanwhile, that "message" was about me, and you need to take my words to heart. This problem was resolved already AND YOU WERE TOO STUPID TO ACTUALLY READ THE THREAD TO SEE THAT.
So, YOU shut the fuck up, you elitist. Just because I joined 6 months ago doesn't mean I'm an idiot.

fixed it...
what? its true!
I know how it is, OP...
For now, I would suggest you just sorta let it happen, trying to avoid the dreams is just gonna pile even more anxiety on you and potentially make them worse...
It might help to write your dreams down, having them all laid out and organized really helps to make sense of them and hopefully identify the underlying cause of these dreams.
this thread made me smile so hard.
Listen to some "happy/relaxing" music while trying to sleep. Have some light. Try to sleep, should help a little.
Talk to a psychiatrist as a last resort.
There's an app for that.

:smith:
so anyways if you really want a dreamless sleep, get some good weed and smoke until you can't sit up straight.

It's not my fault that people are unable to read the rest of the thread.

Do you eat bananas ?
They make your dreams vivid.
Don't eat them.
Buy a lava lamp.
It keeps the monsters hiding under the bed. :buddy:
Have you been playing a lot of scary games or watching horror movies recently? Having the memories of doing that makes your mind come up with ideas and such. It wears out over time, fortunately.
When I have trouble falling asleep, I put on my earphones and listen to some happy and relaxing music.
Get one of these and cuddle them to sleep.

You could get a soft toy of some sort, but I'm not sure people would approve of that...
I don't know if depression can affect dreams but as said before, go to a psychologist.
why
Smoke weed untill you pass out.
