Well thats because ponies don't belong in that thread, they have a rule against it. Ponies being posted in a thread just for ponies it wouldn't cause an issue. It would be contained in one place and nobody would have to worry about seeing ponies posted where they don't belong.

My guess is the whole discord situation is affecting the group and/or reality. Spike seems to foreshadow something with the "why is so much weird stuff happening" question, so maybe if they actually do something about discord humping the town into the ground it'll all turn out to be a big hallucination and RD's not actually sawed in half
