We could use this thread as a demonstration that a peaceful conversation can exist in a thread about MLP, but I have a deep feeling that our attempts would be futile.

Considering how well this thread is going, I think FP may actually be ready for a general MLP chat thread. I think Dai and the other mods are complete against the idea though and can't be swayed, unfortunately, due to how the old ones turned out.
If we really wanted to bring back the pony discussion I think the best solution would be a passworded MLP section with its own mods (where the password would be given out by PM, and going in with the sole intention of shitposting would be permabannable), although really that's a lot to ask and I doubt Garry would be on board.

the MLP thread regulars created their own forum a while back, which acts as its own completely isolated FP section, somewhat. There was a shit-ton of drama with golds following them there when it first happened, but that's mostly behind everyone.
I treat actions cross-forum as if they're all facepunch, so nobody think being an asshat there will grant immunity. I'm not a mod there but I have enough power to call in any favors and kick ass on both sides of the fence, which I've had to do with the likes of Flutterraeg.

Yes but pony central is nothing like Facepunch. I cant exactly put my finger on it but theres something about it I really just don't enjoy as much. Its not as fun for me.

If you're talking about Pony Central, I honestly didn't like that forum when I tried it out. Sure it's got Facepunch members, ratings, and a few other things reminiscent of FP, but it's just not the same either in feel or community.
Facepunch is special, it's the only forum I've stuck with for more than like a month. There's just something about how it's constructed that makes it unique and enjoyable and somehow better than everything else to me. I think it's a combination of the userbase and the steamlined nature of the interface, there's so much less of the bullshit that makes other forums a pain to use and read through.
I suppose Pony Central is the best option as far as what already exists, though. Thanks for the reply

yeh, I'll be honest, I mostly just post in a private section with the mods and a few better members, and a lot of them even got turned off to the show due to the kind of regular posters they have over there.
