M4geries are a dime a dozen. You can build one sans optics for like $450.
Besides, army models are shit ergonomics. They're made of the cheapest parts that'll fit.
What is sans optics?
To keep it simple, sans = without
Next gun for sure is going to be a US Army clone M4. Sooo sexy! So expensive tho ;_;
Hope you know youre not getting anything close to a real M4 without a tax stamp and a year waiting period. [editline]20th February 2017[/editline]
What is sans optics?
Best optics manufacturer on the planet. Hard to find though.
Sans is another way to say "without." Sans optics = without optics. Sans serif = without serif. It's from old French (not Latin apparently, my whole life has been a lie) but commonly used in English.
*stuff*
I know, i'm not making a perfect clone by any means, but as close as I can get myself. I plan to buy that BCM 14.5 Barrel Upper with a permanent flash hider on it to make it 16 inch legal. I just like the style of it overall personally. In my position, there's no way I could build a PERFECT clone, and i'm fine with that.
Thanks for the help goyims! I'll keep all that stuff in mind.

Youll need to buy the upper and the flash hider then take it to a gunsmith. Do this before you buy your lower, else its constructive intent

The idea of constructive intent is so stupid. I could own a shotgun with an 8.5" barrel that has a stock and it's non-restricted because it's over 26" overall length. I could also own a pistol grip that would reduce the length below 26", thus making it restricted, but I don't have to register the gun unless I attach the pistol grip to it, and I have 30 days to call and report it if I do.
call and report? like you can register restricted firearms over the phone?
Yes. You can also apply to register them online IIRC. I know you can check the status of a registration application online, however unfortunately you can't check the status of a transfer, you have to call for that. The government knows that people find old pistols and shit, which is why an application for registration is different than a transfer. An application is for a gun that has never been registered, a transfer is for one that already is. Also you can make guns for personal use, including restricted firearms (someone 3-D printed an AR lower and registered it), but you're never allowed to sell them.

I'm surprised there aren't any companies making live fire replicas of guns from movies and games. They aren't all nonsensical. Seems like there'd be a fair bit of money in that.
Cost of fabrication would be retarded big for what would likely be a pretty small, if any, profit. That'd be my guess, anyways. I'm sure there's a few oddball guns out there that are recreations of something in a movie.
I dunno. There's a market for 400-500 dollar movie sword replicas, and you can't even really sell post-market support for a sword whereas with a gun you have replaceable parts, magazines, etc. Not to mention guns appeal to a wider audience than swords (in the US at least) and more than one customer will just buy it because it looks cool rather than because he's a fan of the source material. Maybe the profit margin would be too low compared to sword replicas, or maybe it's a red tape issue.
Well if they're anything like most movie replica swords out there you'll be spending $600 on a hipoint made to look like a movie gun. Or worse.

Hell, the FG42 project had to be built from the ground up even with blueprints and the only way they can turn a profit on them is to sell them at $4k. Theres no market for such insane costs. A shitty mall sword is no comparison. Theres no moving parts and really only 4 parts total. Its like wondering why no one has built a commercial model of Mad Max's semi truck from road warrior.
Welp. I now have an M1 Garand unfired, a 1916 Mauser G98, and an Ariasaka (I haven't been able to completely ID which Ariasaka). And I bought a car yesterday. This has been a good week, so far. And I go shooting Saturday.

Get a compensator that looks like the barrel weight, longer barrel, and a trigger job, and youre most of the way there. [editline]20th February 2017[/editline] Actually no, cheapest movie replica gun in a star model B. Thats it, done. Or you can go pulp fiction and chrome it.

Since its supposed to be a clone there'd be no reason to remove the muzzle anyway, save you completely wrecking the gas block somehow.
I decided to go with a classic style AK74 instead of modern style. Is this one good? Looks nice and it is cheaper than that Arsenal AK74M

James River Armory makes other firearms as well. Now you'll need mags, so be prepared to pay $26 - $40 a piece: https://www.legionusa.com/izhmash-5.45-x-39-magazine.html
