I imagine you fire it during training don't you?
No issued rifle will ever be unfired, period. There's no such thing. An unfired rifle has to have sat in a warehouse, unissued.
He wasn't active front line forces being in the artillery division and his rifle was issued after basic training?
The chances of it being unfired are insanely slim and theres not really a way to verify it. I honestly wouldnt worry about it.
Just pass it a cute note asking if it's been discharged or not with little check boxes next to y/n Post pics of reply

Unfired, hell no. Lightly used, yeah. [editline]28th February 2017[/editline]
I imagine you fire it during training don't you?
Yup. You'd be kinda worthless in a fight without knowing how to load your weapon and get rounds at least somewhere near the target. So I am working on the STEN MK3 kit and had a question: I ordered the 8 inch barrel for the aesthetics, that is an SBR, right? Can I build it, and then get an SBR stamp? Or do I have to give it a 16 inch barrel and cut it down later? Can I get the stamp in advance, before I build it? I really don't want to be a felon.

I cleaned mine up but I don't want a closed bolt Sten so I haven't done any rewat work on it. Stupid NFA
Buy a 16" barrel or don't assemble it at all. Do not give the ATF any reason to lock you up.
dang, guess Ill have to spend $140 more which I guess is better than a $100,000 fine
dang, guess Ill have to spend $140 more which I guess is better than a $100,000 fine
$100k fine, plus time in federal prison, plus forfeiture of second amendment rights. Yeah, no thanks.
In retrospect, I should have gotten a Mk2 STEN to build, but I've already made the investment so oh well maybe I should sell the parts on armslist / gunbroker and start over [Agree] = Just build the damn mk3, you already spent lots of money on it [Disagree] = Sell the parts at a loss, and spend even more money on a mk2 which is easier
You can now feed your AR with a stripper clip: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/02/27/come-side-feed-stripper-clip-ar-15-loaders/ [t]http://www.meanarms.com/uploads/images/meanslide2_3c2080a528ed.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/gallery_99e1fdf0c57f_meanslide1.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/gallery_03a0a93b517d_meanslide3-1.jpg[/t]

Turn your AR into an over-engineered SKS.
Looks pretty sweet, if it were cheaper I might pick up a few just because stripper clips are fun. Plus this might even be faster than manually loading a magazine. Watch Cali try to ban stripper clips now. :v:

The fabled tactical assault clip?? I have seen the face of GOD
If only it were "military style". They need to sell one with a cheap rattlecan camo paintjob.
If the yes or no doesn't have a bullet hole in it I'm gonna shit.
See you Saturday, sir. Haha.
I'm purchasing a used SKS. Any quirks I should know about or red flags I should look for? Is getting an 20-round magazine installed worth it? Are there any redeemable removable magazine set ups available?
The only removable mag SKS' that are worth buying are the Norinco ones that are factory converted.
That's not 100% true, though getting removable magazines to function properly is literally a case by case basis. All SKS's have a fairly generous tolerance varience, and as such many aftermarket "removable" magazines are very hit or miss without modification. My recommendation would be to either A) get a bunch of stripper clips, or B) buy a 20rd mag, tinker with it until it functions properly, then buy a bunch of stripper clips and never remove the 20rd from the gun. I say "removable" because it practically takes 3 hands to change mags with those things.

I say either get a Norinco or do what you said and get good quality stripper clips.
I've had to explain 5 times on various mediums that no Trump did not repeal the Social Security portion of the NICS improvements act because he wants "Tards and degenerates to buy guns" (actual quote from an argument I had today) I've literally just started posting the ACLU letter on the subject and ghosting and letting them fight it out cause good lord I have way to many super liberal friends EDIT also actually on topic instead of me venting my frustrations on dumb people. Norinco SKS's are usually the go to for mag fed but that isn't to say that the other versions won't work I used to have a yugo with a paratrooper barrel that functioned with mag's just fine

It's just more fun and those duckbill mags can work, but really they never are good enough in my experience. I've been a lot happier since I switched to a fixed magazine.
Not to mention the detachable magazines are shaped weird, which means they'd be a pain in the ass to fit in LBE.
