Hey, hiding your gun works. I keep my L85A1 well hidden behind a load of preserves. If anyone gets concerned I just offer if they'd like some jam.
Anybody been to Machine gun america in Orlando? Me and the GF are gonna be down in the orlando/kissimmee area for about a week visiting my brother and I saw MGA is in orlando and wanted to know if it's worth checking out. If not any places we should check out while we're down there?
EOTech 552.XR308 plus EOTech G33 magnifier for ~$1,100, or Trijicon ACOG 3.5x35 w/ 308 ballistic reticle for ~$1,400? For the 18" RFB. I like them both but I can't justify buying both.
But then I'll have to wait an extra week to afford a Steiner DBAL D:

Reloaded my first 60 rounds of 8mm today. The 170gr Hornady Interlock RN is so short I was measuring to make sure the rounds weren't below SAAMI spec for OAL rather than above it.

I bought the ACOG... we're gonna be so poor. But I'll have an ACOG!
bought my first actual rifle last night, 1942 smle no1 mk3 sporter [t]http://i.imgur.com/6JK7Aao.jpg[/t] needs a good clean, oiling, and maybe an eventual refinishing of the wood but everything is solid
Buy an original or repro stock
The barrel's been chopped from the looks of it. An original stock wouldn't look right. Sporterized Enfields are good rifles, it's just a shame they're made from such pretty vintage military rifles. But even after they've been chopped, they still deserve a good home.
Huh? I loved my Lithgow SMLE. One of the most comfortable rifles I've ever owned, I could stay cheek to stock for hours, and the magazines are built like tanks. Maybe the later magazine designs are flimsy, but the older ones are machined out of solid hunks of steel. The trigger in that rifle was great, too. Very crisp break and the trigger itself was a nice shape. The bolt was smooth, ran like greased glass, and cock on close took a little getting used to but it worked fine. I'll concede the sights were not amazing, but few military rifles have much to offer in that department, especially such early designs. [t]http://i.imgur.com/kbkzG7v.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/Oe7V5OF.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/HLVbsTq.jpg[/t] I miss this rifle so much. I swear if I ever find the cunt who stole it I'll be going to jail.
sorry guys, lee-enfields are dogshit ugly.. from the horrible looking and worse feeling grip, the nose cap, the flimsy magazine, the not so excellent sights, to the absolutely miserable joke of a stock design (way too many pieces attached in dumb ways and affecting accuracy), i can't say i like anything about them. by far worst is the trigger and cock on close mechanism..
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my friend. Also, I've been led to understand that cock-on-close gives you an advantage during rapid fire. [editline]3rd March 2017[/editline] In other news, my gen2 windowed PMags came in. I should have done that from the beginning, to be honest.

I got a sporterized Arisaka thats in perfect condition, aside from the chopped barrel. A WWII bring-back ruined by some fudd who wanted a DURRAFFLE. He even chopped the original sights off. The guy who sold it to me even tried to tell me they were original IJA sniper irons. Nabbed it for $50 at a gunshow because the bolt was stuck. The safety was on lmfao
Sorry guy but you're factually wrong. The bulldog front end of the Mk.3 SMLE is one of the meanest sexiest looks on any military bolt action rifle. That face is so iconic, too. I was super jazzed to get my mitts on a WW1 era one, even though it never went to the trenches.
Yeah, SMLEs are pretty good milsurp. But then again, if you're not str8pull, you're just inferior all the same:

SMLE did it first.
So I was thinking of spray painting my AR with an od spray paint in a sort of diagonal stripe pattern so it would be od stripes on the black finish of the gun. Should I use a certain type of paint and if I get sick of that look is it easy to get off without ruining the black underneath?
What brands and models can people recc for electronic earmuffs?
What brands and models can people recc for electronic earmuffs?
What are you shooting?
What are you shooting?
Everything, though I'm mostly thinking IPSC handgun. Not sure why it's relevant though.
I use Caldwell, but their NRR is only like 23. I think Radians has some electronic ones that are NRR26. Never seen higher than that in an electronic.
I want a MSA Sordin Supreme Pro but they're $300+.
i have a pair of the msa sordin supreme pro-x with the add-on silicone rings. best earmuffs i have ever used, both electronic and regular ones. when shooting indoors i use my 3m reusable clear-ear earplugs under them. [editline]5th March 2017[/editline] worth noting that the regular rings on the pro-x are kinda meh. i'd only get them if you put on the silicon rings. i think i paid in total 230 usd for the muffs and silicon rings, the former were on sale
I might wait for a sale then.

They have kits exactly for this sort of thing. If you buy a can of spraypaint at walmart and spray your gun with it, its going to flake off and fade pretty quick.
I built a gun rack yesterday. 2x4s and bike hooks. I would have just bought one, but all the ones I was seeing were 100$ for fuckin assemble yourself laminated sawdust highschool woodshop racks. I dont really care for asthetics, I just wanted something tough.
