Story time! I went to the range to shoot more of my reloads and after going through this one batch, I had a FTF. Upon further inspection, I found a piece of brass that had been blown in half. I asked the RO about it and apparently, my ammo is too hot. I'll have to dial it back a bit for future rounds.
So be careful all you reloaders out there! Don't want to end up in my situation.
Sounds like you had a double load. Weigh your batches before you fire them.
and your primer choice, seating depth/crimp method, and COAL are correct too?
Correct. I noticed the primers were bulging a little after being fired. The RO said that this was because the loads are too hot.
Sounds like you had a double load. Weigh your batches before you fire them.
Don't see how I had a double load since if it was, I couldn't seat the bullet correctly. I was already loading at the maximum recommended load. I could not fit anymore powder in there if I tried.
That particular brass more than likely was going to fail soon anyways. The walls were looking thin in some areas.
Sounds like you compressed the load.
Sounds like you compressed the load.
According to the Nosler guide, it said that I would have to and it would be fine. If I took a step down, I wouldn't need to compress it.

The last time I bought a HiPoint 995, I took it to the range and the 8th fuckin round I shot had a case head separation half way up the case wall, leaving the top 1/4" of brass in the chamber.
It took a few days before I could bother to disassemble the gun enough to get in there with pliers to try to claw it out, and ended up having to use a long wooden dowel down the barrel to punch it out.

Fortunately, the RO had a cleaning rod with a brush that we used to remove the brass. Only shot a little more before going home for the day.
Lol apparently if you fly outta MCO with lots of gunpowder and tannerite residue on your hands/body/person in general the TSA gets pissy. "You both tested positive for explosive material can you step over to the side for me?"......hmm wonder what this is about :buddy:
I get searched every time I fly from home back to school because of gunpowder residue on my hands. It's annoying.
lol the funny thing is when we flew out of denver I know for a fact i had more "residue" on my person and they couldn't of given a single fuck less "keep your shoes and belt on laptop out go go go move it people"
We've invented a book shelf that doubles as a bed frame. During development, we had a problem where the books stored in the shelf kept falling out, so we engineered an ingenious solution. Our solution integrates a large wooden sliding plate, several over-sized cam-pins, a 3-ton-capacity linear hydraulic actuator, a truck-load of dry ice and an extremely angry cat. We are not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the operating mechanism, as that is a trade secret of Großehügelschweinekäsefabrikgesellschaft™. Price per-unit is €30,000.
I got through LAX with half a dozen rounds of .22 in my carry-on bag two days after the underwear bomber.

Lol well ya did better than me for sure. The funny thing is I checked 4 guns (My Sig CC, The GF's P938, My 3 gun glock and my R700 plus hand loads for the 700) I had a TSA agent do an inspection with me there BEFORE I HIT SECURITY. Yeah guys i'm gonna go through the trouble of checking 6k+ worth of firearms just so I can set myself and the gunpowder residue on fire while wielding toenail clippers..........
Only shitty airport experience I've had with traveling with guns was flying into Detroit. I had to pick up 2 rifle cases at an office in the baggage claim, when I got there I had to show my ID but they wouldn't give one back. One rifle case was in my name, the other was in the name of my 16 year old stepsister, and they wouldn't release the case to me until I had her show them her drivers license.
When I checked them in, the lady at the counter must have put one of the cases in her name on accident.
Meanwhile in Bismarck ND, rifle cases just come out on the belt like normal luggage.

I want to get the fuck out of California and either move to the pacific northwest, or if I can't, somewhere rural and green out east.
...I just realized 'calico' is California-compliant. I thought it was a nickname for a gun make.
I need sleep.
No, the Calico is a gun.
Is it? I thought the title was meant, like, "All the california complaint guns are over there"
Color me surprised.
e: Doubly surprised, this is some neotokyo looking shit.

Try ND or Montana. Beautiful out here, people are nice, and the guns are plentiful. ND also has some insanely high paying jobs right now.

Calico is a gun manufacturer, just not a very good one.

Aren't they basically defunct?
Aren't they basically defunct?
If they are theres a reason for it.
This reloading press is doing my head in. I want to start loading brass shells for my antique shotguns since neither of them like modern plastic hulls but I can't figure out how to use any of this equipment and the instructions are just like "now, do the entire thing. make sure you do it right, or you'll die! good luck!" :v:
Look it up on youtube, that's how I figured out how to work a powder thrower.
So I was shooting at a coyote just a second ago without a light with my .22, I swear it just sat there like "what the hell is making zining sounds past me?"
I didn't hit it and it ran off.
But I think I woke a neighbor and I herd a bigger single shot coming from his direction followed by a yelp.
With our 26 bullets combined we will take down this enemy.
I wish I could find a good tac light for a AR that's 300+ lumens with a large reflector so I can see what I'm aiming at with my reflex sight..... I have a Fenix UC35 but its currently sent for RMA but it doesn't have a big enough reflector housing...
[editline]10th March 2017[/editline]
i frogot to mention CHEAP
I picked up a ten dollar light for my AR on Amazon. I forgot the lumens or the brand, it's in my work truck. But the thing is bright as shit. With fresh batteries in it I can light up an entire crawlspace to the point I can work freely with the light sitting on the other end. I'll have to look it up sometime tomorrow whenever I get a chance.
Have a quick question - skip to 0:15

Would that AR even work? Doesn't an AR-15 need a recoil buffer to operate?

He's also a real piece of shit. The guy says "Man I ain't got nothing against you" and he shoots him. Human garbage.
