One day though I'll get a shotgun with a pic rail on top and a 14" barrel and slap it under my AR.
:terrists:
:terrists:
The AR has a 15.7" barrel, so it would be a tax stamp too. Thankfully we don't do tax stamps in Canada.
Anyone have a good recommendation for outdoor rifle ranges near Myrtle beach in SC or NC?
The only one I remember was an indoor pistol range down in Murrells off 17 Business. But, It's been probably two years since I was there last and about four since I went down that way consistently. I know there's a hunting club outside of Danville VA that opens up a field to shooting during their off season, but that's probably a bit too far.
I did a thing today. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ja7A4Jt.jpg[/t] Shame the saddle mount's weaver rail doesn't line up right with the adapter, so I can't actually lock that shotgun down.
Gunnit rust?
Gunnit rust.
I don't care for the guy in office, but god I love ammo being available again...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/AFZ9e5x.jpg[/t] The collection continues... getting way too expensive.
for the love of god, mount your bipod the correct way
Pardon me? Why does it matter on a .22LR?
Pardon me? Why does it matter on a .22LR?
You just realised you asked the one person on Gatpunch that thinks .22lr is perfect and never missfires what's wrong with something that 'ruins the experience and accuracy'? Right?

So. A wild unicorn appeared at my local gun store today. Talk shit about Ruger all you want, but that's fucking cool. I wish I were still working so I could afford it.
People always shit on Ruger mini's but I love their look. What's actually wrong with them?
They're open at the top so shit can easily get into them and jam them up. Ian did a video on it I think. [editline]21st March 2017[/editline] Or a video on the M14 which is basically the same thing.
When you fold it up doesn't it interfere with where you want to place your hands?
The rifle weighs like 2lbs, It doesn't make any practical difference to me, but I suppose for the purists' sake I'll fix it.
Got the sten tube milled out, and then I learned that it is FRIGGING USELESS, because I will need a semi-auto closed bolt conversion kit, which is proprietary and only works with special tubes made to work with the semi-auto kit so I have to spend ~$250 more and redo an entire tube in addition to buying the semi-auto kit and aaaaargh Who knew learning so much could be so frustrating
My sten lives in an ammo can now, never to be finished
There's a place that has Chinese 870 knockoffs that feed by detachable mag for $179.99. I'm debating getting one to make a proper masterkey with it, but at the same time it's kinda a waste of money.

I got a couple friends with norinco 982's (basically the same as the YJ12 without the mag/short barrel) and for the money they are actually really decent shotguns
Dominion Arms Grizzly, they have 18.5" with folding stocks and 5 round mags for $179.99, and 12.5" with fixed stocks and 5 round mags for $249.99 (remember no tax stamp in Canuckistan).

I mean, there goes like 99% of all semi-auto systems including the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine and more than a few manually operated systems if that's your criteria. They did those videos to highlight the difference between closed systems vs open systems, not to say which gun is good and which is bad. I mean, most weapons that have been in military service in the past 150 years would fail the sort of test they did.

but cottage cheese and ham sandwich
The AR15 passed :v:
Didn't say it didn't pass, just saying it's silly to use that as a metric. Again, they did it to demonstrate the difference between a closed system and and open system, they even state in the video that if they had allowed mud to enter the action and fire control group on the AR it would have been stopped just like the AK and M1.

You are right though, the test shouldn't matter much to most people. Ian even said that he still considers the vz. 58, which failed hard, to be a good rifle. Unless you're planning on taking a rifle to war and crawling through mud and dirt and sand with it, you're not going to want to give these tests too much weight in your purchasing decisions. My advice to anyone looking for a rifle would be to focus on more relevant areas, like price, ergonomics, accuracy, cost of ammo and so on.

We have a mini 14 on sale at my store for like 767 dollars, kinda ridiculous. I like them a lot, really wouldn't mind owning one since I prefer rifle grips, but that's a little high for what you get out of them, in my opinion.
