I got shit to save up for. I need a car, there's gun to buy, eventually I need to find somewhere else to live than my parents' basement. 9mm is expensive. So is .223. Especially since I could easily have ran through 500 9mm today if that was all I had brought.
You also gotta save up to move to a country thats not Canada.

Reloads from my gun club are $43/100.

Does the Communist Imperial Australian Government tax ammo heavily down there?

Hahaha holy shit.
Leaving aside the initial costs for equipment, how much would reloading cost you?

30c a round maybe, using cast bullets. They use FMJs in the club guns for some reason, maybe to cut down on cleaning.

Wait, is that normal? 9mm is usually less expensive at the local shop than .22 tends to be.

There was never a .22 shortage in Sovijet Kanuckistan so it never got stupid expensive, but since our dollar is a pile of shit ammo costs a crapload now.
the 22lr shortage has been over in most parts of the US for years now, its back to being cheap as dirt
Not in the People's Commonwealth of Virginia. At least, not in my area. The only time you can find .22lr on most store shelves are still on inventory days. Save for maybe a small brick of 100 or 50 subsonics.
I guess this is firearm related. I wanted to share just because of how ridiculous it is.
Please stop with the "lol move" comments. Because if you want to wire me some money I'd be happy too but you can't just uproot your entire life because a law or two got passed years after you were born and established. You can't convince your entire family to quit their jobs and uproot their lives over shit like this. Consider this a cautionary tale if you let the fucks get their way.
Anyway, so I have this little hobby of buying toy guns and making them look really cool like this:
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/L8Ur0a.png[/t][t]http://i.cubeupload.com/PVUJVK.jpg[/t]
Anyway, I saw this thing:
[t]https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71Et95Q5FML._SL1500_.jpg[/t]
And I thought it was cool. You can load shells into the tube and when you rack the pump it ejects and it makes gun shot noises (Doesn't even shoot anything) but I saw potential in it and it was like $15 so I was like sure why not.
I tried to buy it from a seller on Ebay. They refunded my money and said something was wrong with my address. That was odd but I was like, whatever. I went to Amazon and tried to get it and when I got into my cart it said there was a problem with my address. When I checked apparently it's a "restricted item" in NY
So I tried to buy it from several other places. All the Ebay sellers refunded my money.
What I'm assuming is that they're aware of a law in New York City saying all toy guns need to be brightly colored. Toy guns with just an orange cap are illegal, but as long as they're bright colors it doesn't matter. So here is the issue I have with this. 1. I don't live in NYC I live hours and miles outside of it in the county. 2. According to the Amazon listing they don't even send you the same gun in the picture they send you this:
[t]https://i.gyazo.com/90f39a6878d993e59c418b3c24234d0d.png[/t]
Which means this is 100% legal in NYC anyway.
I get 1:1 scale airsoft guns shipped to my door but all the sudden I can't get a toy gun that makes sounds? Fucking ridiculous. I think it's because my area code starts with "10" and NYC's area codes start with "10" too but for fucks sake they don't know the law. For reference here is a short article summarizing the law:
http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/toy-guns-banned-new-york
Ironically enough I ordered and got this one from Amazon no problem.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/3DZygi.jpg[/t]
The end of the story? I paid a friend in a different state to order it for me and send it to me.
Yes, you heard that right.
New York State forced me to commit a straw purchase for a toy gun.

None of us are being serious when we say this. We're just poking fun at the fact that you live in the worst place in the best country in the world.

If you're at Walmart, it'll be hard to find, but I've never had any real trouble picking it up at local shops or at Bass Pro or something, if I'm not ordering online for reason or another.
I can't find good priced plinking 22 at 500 round bricks. Most of the ok deals are lick 300 rounds. I miss paying 15 bucks for 525 of federal's plinking ammo.
still never going to be able to cope with several boxes/wrappers I have laying around from buying innocent gun accessories say "this product [may] contain(s) a chemical known to the state of california to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm".
like is cali the only place that realizes lead is shitty and using it in paints is pretty much 1950-tier shitty cheap manufacture?
Theres not a company in the US that uses leads in paints. Its from different chemicals that that note refers to. Pretty much everything on earth is a carcinogen in some way, and California makes it mandatory to note that, so pretty much everything manufactured in the US has that label on it.

In the Roanoke area, you only find it in Gander on Thursdays (they get inventory Weds evening or Thurs morning), and Walmart on their respective stock days (they rotate, which makes it annoying). I've seen some special style .22 ammos in the local maw an' paw stores, but rarely ever see bricks bigger than 100 and always a 'limit of two per customer per day' no matter where you go. It's kinda ridiculous.
Anybody have experience with carrying a Glock 19? Do you find it to be too big or have any problems with it?
Before I got my P320 I carried a G19 it wasn't too bad I didn't have any major problems with concealment/comfort carried it in a alien gear cloak tuck 3.0. now note I am a pretty big dude (6'5" 265) so YMMV but it worked for me
I'm 6'4" myself. I'm just looking for a gun that will be a good all-rounder. I've shot a few different subcompact pistols and the two-finger grip just isn't comfortable, so I want something a bit beefier.
You guys like my new Sig carbine?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/auCSyw0.jpg[/t]
Don't worry, no ATF will be coming to shoot my puppers, this is legal in Canada because "Once a pistol, always a pistol."
How do you like that 226?
It's my main range gun. I just put an SRT kit in it and it made a huge difference. I love it, never plan on selling it.
Anybody have experience with carrying a Glock 19? Do you find it to be too big or have any problems with it?
I'm 6'3" and I carry a Glock 26. I carry IWB Appendix mostly and I would not want to carry anything bigger. I also have a Glock 43, which is much much lighter and more comfortable, but I prefer the 26 for the shooting feel and capacity. I also run a Taran Tactical 3/4 extension.

I also have polished all the surfaces, and installed the Glock Extended mag release and slide release. I love the gun to death and have carried it daily for a year now. The only thing I want for it is a set of Trijicon HD Tritium sights, and then it's about as perfect as I can get.

Glock 19 is my summer gun. Its comfy and small enough. My issue is I suck shooting with it still. Not like Im missing the target by a mile, just not getting my groupings as tight as Id like them to be.
I purchased two very heavy duty DeBourgh lockers today. They weigh a few hundred pounds a peice. Made in colorado, fully built with 1/8" steel angle iron, and the sheets are heavy 16 gauge. Has a three point cremorne type latches, all solid steel. No bolts all welded. I bought the one pictured, and then a longer 5 unit matching one that is divided horizontally and has two lockers per unit. Picking that one up tomorrow since I could only move one at a time. Also the top 'triangle' is just riveted on from the inside and removable. Depth wise they also are 12" deep and fit 30 cal ammo cans like a glove. 50 cal cans won't fit, because they are about a half inch longer, but 30 cals are fine.
I bought them to go in my new concrete reinforced armory room in my new commercial buildings basements. Concrete and steel beamed ceilings, concrete walls. It's perfect for an armory room and network and security hub for the building. I just need to fabricate a steel door frame and vault style door for the room. Each of the locker bays can hold 4-5 guns once I fabricate brackets and all the carpeted fittings. The lockers are almost 6' tall. Once I paint them up they will look great and I'll have my own military TA-50 style armory lockers. The company that made these is also a big supplier for the military.

I adore my mom's 229, and can't decide if I want a 229, too, or a 226, since I'm a blubbering fatso and like bigger guns. But, I'm also weird in I found the standard trigger just fine on her 229 in sa.

I started not liking it when I was out shooting it and my Tokarev and found myself preferring the shorter reset on the Tokarev. I'd debated the SRT kit for years, and that finally pushed me. Now, any other Sig I get in the future I'm getting an SRT kit for it if there is one.

Unless you want a vault door to complete the aesthetic, you can find solid steel doors commercially pretty easily. I service jails and cop shops and their armories are kept behind a normal looking office door, but its solid steel with a huge deadbolt.

Do you have it in 9mm or .357 sig? and why did you choose whichever you got?
