I forget who it was then. Sorry for the call out then, Code. I honestly thought it was you, but I've had a migraine the last two days, so my brain's a touch wonky.

I remember he had the Sphinx, but he also had a second weapon he had been carrying which was a CZ. I'm pretty certain it was an SP-01 or a similar compact of theirs he used with it for comparison and while he waited on the SDP to arrive to his market.
I have a 1911, but I'm familiar enough with it to know I wouldn't want to trust my life to it not double/triple-feeding or encountering some other weird issue. It's a great gun, but magazines all run into the same problem eventually. With my luck, it'd happen at the worst time. Right now it comes to work with me in my bag because I work in a bad area and I figure it's better than nothing, but I'm not gonna stop there.
re: triple-feed - I once had the magazine spew three rounds at once. This resulted in the slide jamming open with one live round in the chamber, one live round jammed in the ejection port, and one stuck halfway through exiting the magazine, nose to ass against the chambered round.
Sounds like you need to find better magazines :v:
I hear Kimber mags run amazingly. :v:
(I say that, but I actually run two and have never had problems with them)
Sounds like you need to find better magazines :v:
I'm running USGI steelies in it right now. The magazines I had before also had double-feed issues. I chalked it up to a fundamental flaw with the feed lip design. This gun has never had a stoppage that I'd say is the gun's fault, though. I'm pretty pleased with it.
Wait, was it Code or was it you Psycho that I had the debate over how stupid grip safeties are and how they ruin the 1911 because you miiiight hold the gun in a weird way to squeeze off a shot with it not turning off?
grip safeties on the 1911 annoy me but they're cheap to fix by pinning the grip safety or even cheaper by slipping a piece of inner tube over the grip (both my para ord warthawg and my RIA have pinned GS's)

It was Trunk Monkay you guys are thinking of. Fuck that guy
But seriously, cc'ing a 1911 is reckless to the point of stupidity, not just because of its retarded grip safety.

Yea I got the CZ75b Omega, fucking fantastic pistol. I love it more than my USP.
Ive been wanting a SP01 for a long ass time but could only ever find them in .40 for some reason. I ended up with the CZ75 after getting a decent deal on it and theres really not enough differences between the two to hold off for an SP01.
Hmm. CZ75b Omega. Sounds like a good next handgun purchase. I'll take it.

It's cool if you want to make a note I'm the guy who has a hate boner over the KSG.
It's a Love/Hate relationship though.
But mostly hate.

Heh. Try telling that to my cousin.

Never had an issue with kimber mags in my 1911. Their build is such that I can't even imagine the spring exerting enough force on the feed lips to actually bend them.

Who wants WASRs that aren't $1k on gunbroker? :V
Why buy a WASR when you can get an SLR
Maybe they don't have $1K for an SLR? Wasrs are still better than almost all of the US made crap AKs
WASRs and Yugos still come with CHF barrels, whereas US made AKs do not.
I think DDI has the best chance to produce a quality US made AK, and they are nitriding their barrels.
I want a FAL so bad. If I could CC a FAL, I would.

Would be like carrying an MP5-K

It's really hard to not start buying every good deal I see on armslist now that I'm making good money again.
Alternatively I just need to find a good local store that doesn't fuck me too hard on prices

Do it and buy ammo because it'll all be gone come November's panic buying.

I know. Figure I'm gonna buy some kind of rifle that isn't a nugget and stock up on ammo.
And I still need to buy a few more pistols including one I can cc with.
What would be a good "first rifle" to own for relatively cheap?
And that is also not blocked by all the dumb Canadian laws?

What do you want to do with it (hunt, range, look pretty, etc.)? Do you have any experience with firearms at all?
What do you want to do with it (hunt, range, look pretty, etc.)? Do you have any experience with firearms at all?
Well I intend to follow a course in firearm handling and get a permit to own one in the near future, and I was thinking maybe I should look into what I could get. I'd use it mainly in a range, but hunting is also a possibility

Well it all depends on your budget and what you plan to hunt then. You could go anywhere from a .270 to a .300 in caliber, and brands like Winchester, Remington, Sako, the list goes on.
Why buy a WASR when you can get an SLR
Why buy a SLR when you can buy a WASR? Its an AK dood, theres no major differences that justifies the cost of an SLR.
WASRs arent like the ones we got 10 years ago that came with canted sights and bent barrels. Ive owned a wasr in the past and it was far better than any saiga or slr ive owned. The only real difference is the finish on the rifles, and that sure as shit isnt worth an extra grand.
But I hate grip safeties.
And I hate 1911's.
inb4 I get yelled at for "OMG IT'S DA BEST GOON EVR, 45 CALIBUR KEELS ERRYTHIN."
I like my 1911 a lot. I find it to be a very natural and good pointing gun - but it was also my first handgun so it's what I really learned to shoot on. The 1911's weight is normal to me and many other guns are uncomfortably light or awkwardly balanced, which is why I'd prefer a full steel, full-size handgun for carry over a more compact/synthetic option.
I still don't see the gripes with the grip safety. I have never had an issue with it. I do acknowledge the platform's other problems. The magazine issues for example are severe and make the whole platform untrustworthy to me when it comes to life or death.
