I don't really factor in reliability of an action or anything like that, because if I have any weapon going out into the field camping or etc. with me it'd probably just be a boring old AR or something. Andyeah, cost is prohibitive.
I've never shot any PTRs, granted, but from the few I've held they just don't feel quite right to me. Kinda biased, since I vastly prefer rifle grips.
Yeah, the ergonomics are weird, like the thing was built for a 6'6" potato-and-sausage fed Teutonic giant. I have to flip the rifle on its side to reach the selector lever.
The kick is a bit snappy, but not intolerable. I just have problems getting rounds on target. I don't have that problem with the BUIS on my AR, so I know it's not just me. That open V-notch is a piece of shit.
Lol they gave you the more expensive high cap magazines and theyre pinned. What a terrible place to live.
My Scorpion came with 2 15rd mags and 2 30rd mags pinned at 15. First chance I had, I drilled out hte rivets.
Well, best friend and I are heading to our gun show tomorrow. My budget's no more than $150. Will I find anything cool?
Also, unrelated, but kind of neat for other M1 owners. Someone did a pretty good scientific study on different commercial ammo's pressure through the gas cycle on M1s and analysed which would or could be safe on GI gas ports.

My Skorp only came with 2 15s, I had to go buy 30s elsewhere.
I started to regret buying my Skorp after the carbine models came out and after the ATF reversed their stance on pistol braces, and after the ATF lost my NFA paperwork.
Now that the ATF has reversed their stance again, Im probably gonna buy a brace for it and see how I like it.
Only 3 rounds? Not much of an Auto 5 then.
Finnish legislation requires semiautomatic hunting firearms to be limited to three rounds, two in the mag and one in the chamber. Also, ammo costs money.
That's so weird to me.
I think even the most die-hard of anti-gunners would struggle to argue for this (as opposed to a magazine ban) here.
do they have to be physically blocked even when not hunting??
in norway, shotguns have to be max 1+1 while hunting, and have to be physically blocked with a mag limiter while hunting. clay shooting/shooting bottles there is no limit though.
semi auto rifles are 1+3 on moose/elk/deer, other game is 1+2. no physical block needed, you can just load a 30 round mag with 3/2 rounds and you are good to go
No, it's similar to Norwegian laws except we can have 1+2. Just saving ammo, that's all.
i pay the equivalent of €0,15 for 12/70 saga steel clay pigeon/birdshot from XXL, but idk if those are too weak to cycle the browning
It might work if the friction rings were setup for light loads. We had only hunting loads on hand.

That's more reasonable then it is here, generally speaking.
My dad told me about a guy near where he grew up who had a bit of a feud with a local game warden. He cut a little bit off the wooden plug for the shotgun's tube, just enough to where you feel like you could load an extra round, but still can't. The warden comes up to him in the field and inspects his weapon, and checks to see if he can fit a fourth round in. Doesn't work obviously, but he spends a good 5 minutes trying to force this shell into the magazine.
Friend of mines uncle got jail time for hunting in PA with some ak variant l, if i remember the story rite

It's more than likely a semi auto ban for hunting.
It's more than likely a semi auto ban for hunting.
Here in Illinois, hunting rifles have to be muzzle loaders.
EDIT: I'm glad I live, like, 10 minutes away from Wisconsin. They're much more reasonable. Just as long as you're using expanding ammunition in an adequate caliber for the game you're hunting. I don't know if they even have magazine capacity limits.
[del] In Ohio there's not really any rifle hunting allowed besides pests either [/del]
Apparently this changed recently and rifle hunting is now allowed for deer. Interesting.
Indy is still revolver cartridges and slugs. Only a handful of rifle rounds allowed for public. Private property allows 30 Cal to 6mm. Still crappy laws.
No handgun hunting anywhere in Canada. In Ontario there are certain areas where there are calibre limitations for rifle (usually .270 is the max), other areas where it's shotgun only, other areas where it's muzzleloader only, and other areas where you can use any non-handgun you want, depending on the game. There's no mag cap when rifle hunting except the federal limit of 5 in semis, but when shotgun hunting you need to plug your mag tube so it only holds 2+1. Grouse, partridge, and pheasant can only be hunted with shotgun or rimfire, turkey can only be hunted with a 10, 12, or 20ga shotgun and only using #4, 5, 6, or now 7 shot, waterfowl and other migratory birds can only be hunted with a shotgun between 20 and 10 gauge and only using non-lead ammo, deer cannot be hunted with buckshot smaller than 20ga, but technically a .410 slug is fine, and I think moose is the same.
I got lucky when I lived in So Ill I'd fill rifle tags in crittendon/webster county KY and archery tags in Illinois 2 weeks later. I still don't know why in the fuck illinois doesn't have a rifle season they let us have muzzleloaders it's the same fucking thing
Wisconsin regs on deer-hunting:
It is illegal to:
• possess or use any firearm for hunting if you are a felon or have been prohibited from
possessing a firearm under Wisconsin law. In Wisconsin, a firearm is any weapon that uses
gun powder, including black powder or black powder substitute for muzzleloaders. A hunting
license does not authorize a felon to possess a firearm for hunting;
• hunt with a fully automatic firearm;
• possess or use while hunting any tracer or incendiary shells, cartridges or ammunition;
• hunt with any means other than a gun discharged from the shoulder or a bow or crossbow.
Handguns may be used as described under the “handgun” section on page 14. Bows and
crossbows may only be used as described under the Bows, Arrows and Crossbows section
described on page 14;
•shoot a firearm within 100 yards of a building devoted to human occupancy while on lands
the hunter does not own, including public lands and public waters, without the permission
of the owner or occupant of the building;
• hunt deer with ammunition loaded with non-expanding type bullets;
• possess or control any shotshell loaded with a single slug or ball while hunting game birds
except during the gun deer season;
• possess while hunting, shot or shotshells loaded with shot larger than No. BB from
June 1– December 15 (unless legally engaged in waterfowl or bobcat hunting). See the 2016
Waterfowl Regulations for maximum shot sizes for waterfowl hunting;
• hunt deer with any ammunition loaded with shot other than a single slug or projectile.
Note: Hunters are encouraged to check with local governments for weapon restrictions in
the area they plan to hunt.

Rifles
• Rifles must have an overall minimum length of 26 inches with a 16 inch minimum barrel
length unless the user has a federal license to possess a “short-barreled” rifle.
It is illegal to:
• hunt deer with any center-fire rifle less than .22 caliber, any rimfire rifle, or air gun
In other words, a PTR, M1A, AR-10, FNAR or whatever with a 20 round magazine is legal to hunt deer with, as long as that magazine is loaded with HP. No AR-15s though, unless it's chambered in one of those weird cartridges like .50 Beowulf or .300 Memeout.
lol i would kinda like to see what .50 beowulf or .458 socom would do to a deer we'd spin boar like tops sometimes with .50 beowulf
North Dakota's hunting laws

My store received a large shipment of P10C mags, but still no P10Cs. I just wanna hold one.
Friend of mines uncle got jail time for hunting in PA with some ak variant l, if i remember the story rite
Semi-Auto restrictions in PA, plus magazine restrictions of no more than 4 plus 1 chambered.
Also, the semi part is being repealed this year, thankfully.
And apparently my area thinks $800 for a mosin and $400 for a sporterized 1903 in very bad condition are great values....
I hate my city some days. Did walk away with some .30 m2 ball for $30, so, there was that at least.
The biggest debate right now is that should I re-blue all of the metal parts or just the barrel because right now it looks very neat with bare metal.

Well deer can be considered pests when there's too many of them

Anyone know a decent case trimmer for a decent price?
My order from Varusteleka finally cleared customs. It literally spent one minute in the customs office after sitting at JFK Intl for a month.
