Why would you carry 4 mags for a P90 though? (5, counting the loaded mag) You wouldn't carry 7 AR15 mags.
Yea you would lol. You carry as much ammo as you can. P90 mags dont make that practical. [editline]6th May 2017[/editline]
I bought a gun that doesn't exist. No, it's not a ghost gun, and not it wasn't a prototype. I put down money for a special CZ that isn't available anywhere right now. My friendo that works in receiving and inventory management for our store has put out "a special kind of buy order" for one. Money gone from my account, so now all I do is play the waiting game. I've been saving and waiting forever.
Is there a reason to buy that over a 75b Omega?
Actually you would, as the standard combat load for the US Army is 7 mags, 210rds.
That's standard, yeah. You get issued 7 on your way to deployment. A lot of guys will try and nab a few extra. I have a buddy who went to Afghanistan back in 2011-ish, he never left the FOB without 10. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline]
Not like you're bending over half way up your rib cage, so that's not much of a concern.
Yup. If you're wearing those pouches on an IOTV or some other type of plate carrier, it won't matter.
Why would you carry 4 mags for a P90 though? (5, counting the loaded mag) You wouldn't carry 7 AR15 mags.
Why don't you carry those rounds on your thigh? or put them on the sides instead of the front. On other hand, you could stack them up horizontally and that would be much better
What's the brand on that holster? You know if they make a version that would work for appendix carry?
Got it from this guy on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/222063882433?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Check his storefront he might have something. I got different clips for IWB carry if I need them but don't anticipate doing that very much.
Is there a reason to buy that over a 75b Omega?
Rail for a flashlight+heavier frame. I've been told the omega trigger feels better +option for safety, but I really want a handgun with a rail. I've shot the shadow 2, and if the money was there I would buy it, considering I'm really into steel + USPSA, but for now this will do.

Also, if you want Omega trigger + rail, why not get a P-09/P-07?
Oh and I got another new holster today for my Glock 19 w/ APL [t]https://i.gyazo.com/25527d908d49fc51e3f68227dc0b92b0.png[/t] [t]https://i.gyazo.com/5e31a0b7cbc842d6f37fff11c5dde0ea.jpg[/t]
Went to the range today to take part in a military rifle IPSC shoot. There's this guy at the club who's a range officer, and also the biggest fucking cunt I know. He's one of those stupid people who thinks they know everything but actually know nothing and he's likely only an RO so he can lord over people. Anyway, my brother took his M44 to the range to use during the shoot. As soon as cunt RO see the rifle with the fixed bayonet folded back he screams out "you can't use that rifle, bayonet's are illegal! Get off this range immediately!". All I'm thinking at this time is "I know this is Australia but last time I checked bayonets weren't illegal". Anyway, my brother goes to argue it but he continues and tell my brother if he doesn't like the rules, he can take it up with the club president. My brother basically goes "ok, I will." He's back about five minutes later with the club president who basically says it's perfectly fine to have a fixed bayonet on your gun. Cunt RO is fuming at that. A few hours later my brother fucks off to the clubhouse to get some drinks when cunt RO starts complaining. Apparently he didn't like it that my brother "undermined his authority by going above him". All I could do was roll my eyes. He literally said "if you don't like it take it up with the club president". Tough shit if what you said was retarded.

Also, can someone give me the rundown on why Ruger rifles get some heavy criticism?
Was this on a SSAA range?
We're affiliated with the SSAA as are nearly all clubs in Australia but the range belongs to our club and a blackpowder club.
Also, can someone give me the rundown on why Ruger rifles get some heavy criticism?
I only know of the political criticism. I know that at one point Ruger supported the AWB so quite a few Americans hate their guts.
We're affiliated with the SSAA as are nearly all clubs in Australia but the range belongs to our club and a blackpowder club.
Yeah, I've had a few issues with SSAA clubs in the past - nothing as bad as what's happened in your case. Just some rules that don't seem to be... necessary, and some range officers in over their heads. Range near me doesn't allow you to use magazines that load over 5 rounds, like, last time I checked the state maximum was 15 for Rimfire.... Also a time a RO got angry at my father and I for using "excessive loads" despite using bullets sold by the club.
I only know of the political criticism. I know that at one point Ruger supported the AWB so quite a few Americans hate their guts.
Right, I was looking at the Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308. Any issues with that particular rifle you're aware of? I've had a few people recommend it to me, but I've heard a lot of criticism just with Ruger as a whole.

I don't really post here but I spent way too much time drawing this after watching a buncha Forgotten Weapons episodes [t]http://i.imgur.com/mVBOt9W.png[/t] on a related note, I need to file down my reproduction dust cover on my Arisaka since it doesn't fit too well
Right, I was looking at the Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308. Any issues with that particular rifle you're aware of? I've had a few people recommend it to me, but I've heard a lot of criticism just with Ruger as a whole.
The usual complaints as far as the guns go are usually, that Ruger's fit and finish aren't the greatest. It's no S&W or CZ rifles, but Rugers will get the job done. And you won't feel as bad about abusing it like with more refined firearms. Ruger Scouts are hit or miss. It's too much money for what it is. Buy a Savage 11 Scout rifle instead, cheaper and great quality.

I've shot my 75BD for so long I'm content with double action.
Right, I was looking at the Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308. Any issues with that particular rifle you're aware of? The 223 version takes AR mags, and the .308 version takes G3 or M14 mags, IIRC. You'll be spending $80 a mag Ruger's guns don't suck (generally), but the reason they design things a certain way is just senseless money grabbing. Will Ruger was also a dipshit
The best way to address the firepower concern is therefore not to try to outlaw or license many millions of older and perfectly legitimate firearms (which would be a licensing effort of staggering proportions) but to prohibit the possession of high capacity magazines. By a simple, complete and unequivocal ban on large capacity magazines, all the difficulty of defining 'assault rifle' and 'semi-automatic rifles' is eliminated. The large capacity magazine itself, separate or attached to the firearm, becomes the prohibited item. A single amendment to Federal firearms laws could effectively implement these objectives. William B. Ruger

they are completely different rifles, one has a big chassis, tiny ejection port, and is meant for shooting off a bipod or barricade, the scout is meant as a... scout rifle, with scout mounted optics and can be loaded through the ejection port
Well, it can be loaded through the ejection port if you are single loading or you have one of the polymer mags. Don't even think about it with the steel mag. I still say get the Savage if you can get it.
Proprietary magazines were invented by Satan.
if every gun ever used the same mags, what mags would you want them to use? stanag 4179 mags aren't exactly god's greatest gift to firearms technology
PMags seem to be pretty good though.
sure, but if they had had a constant curve they'd be better. not like we can do much about that when the AR has been around for the better half of a century by now.
True. I guess what I should really say is "proprietary mags where they don't make any sense are the devil". Reference the Mini-14.
if every gun ever used the same mags, what mags would you want them to use? stanag 4179 mags aren't exactly god's greatest gift to firearms technology
STANAGs kinda suck but theyre cheap and plentiful, and its not like a million different but better mags exist in the same design. Obviously every gun doesnt need to be in the same caliber, but its nice to get some reciprocity. Like I wish my Scorpion used MP5 mags because theyre plentiful and theres rigs dedicated to that magazine.
If you can get them in Australia, I'd get a Ruger Precision Rifle instead, it takes .308 PMags as well and is a much better rifle.
Not allowed to own the Ruger Precision Rifle, unless they offer a fixed stock chasis. Plus it's like $3000 in Aus so. For the most part though, what magazines they take isn't relevant, because my state has a fixed law, 10 rnds max for centrefire. [editline]7th May 2017[/editline] Plus I likely won't be using more than one magazine at a time, it'll be mostly recreation usage although my uncle is considering getting into pigging.
Got to pick up and shoot my Para today, Great feeling gun, probably the funnest time I have had at the range [t]http://i.imgur.com/eZKuTys.jpg[/t]
Is that one of those drop in comps that replaces the barrel bushing?
Yeah, the 'Predator' from Valkyrie Dynamics
if every gun ever used the same mags, what mags would you want them to use? stanag 4179 mags aren't exactly god's greatest gift to firearms technology
Kimber 1911 Single Stacks. :v: No, really, probably something like Enfield's box magazine, honestly. Simple, useful, and okay-enough to handle rimmed cartridges. And I'd say PMAG 20s, if all three of which I have used have turned out to be junk. I personally just find 20 round magazines easier to use when shooting than 30s and 40s. A little more versatile in stances and rests with the shorter length. But I'm weird.
I'm thinking about making one of these. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/Plkls2.jpg[/t] I'm not thrilled about it. But literally all they did was make it hard to hold. The lack of a threaded barrel and bayonet lug doesn't really effect me. Still gay though. I considered getting a second M1 Carbine but I've always found they're less than reliable and 30 Carb is how to source around here. I also looked at Mini-14's but the mags are like $50 a piece and nothing about it really excites me either. All I'm trying to do is find an AR replacement in the end so I might as well just get an AR.
Not gonna lie, if you had those made in patch form, I'd buy one just for laughs.
