How? Unless you bought it in like 2002, that's insane
I bought a lot of guns from Gander Mountain. It's one of the few places we have to buy guns in NY.
They're overpriced like fucking crazy. If it wasn't for the prices I wouldn't mind. They were okay people at the gun counter and all that. It's just their prices were really high. And in NY? They were basically competitive with everyone else because gun prices in NY are high as fuck anyway.
It sucks they're going for me.

That photo is file dated April 2012, but I think I had it a little before than that.

What shop did you get that from?

The one in Aurora. It closed last summer and they opened a brand new store at Parker Rd and E-470 in October.
Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane posted their full presentation on the M-LOK vs Keymod test

USASOC is also looking into updating the M4 SOPMOD package to have a M-LOK handguard, mid-length gas system, and flash hider/compensator hybrid muzzle device

That was about the going rates back in the mid/late 2000's. Hell I remember seeing the basic model for $800 back in 09'. I Have a standard that I paid $1,100 for back in 11'.

Even then, that was a steal; I got my standard in 2012 for $1,200 and they were regularly seen at $1,400 +
Edit:
Actually I was just able to locate a few on Buds that were just over $1,200, so there are good deals if you look.
Everywhere else is nearly $1,400+

Almost ready to start on my 1911 build.
be sure not to forget the grip safety :v:
Maybe a dumb question but do you guys ever think your milsurp could be haunted? Been killing time on r/paranormal and it made me think about it.
I mean I have k98 from 1943, a Luger now from 1941 and a Mosin from 1926. I would wager quite hard all 3 have seen action and wonder if the person who used these weapons killed people or was killed. Not that anything has ever happened to me nor do I believe it will, I just find the topic interesting
Literal ghost gun.
Buddy of mine just built a new varmint rifle in .22 nosler using an odin works 18" barrel/ATLAS compensator. damn thing is a little fireball and shoots flatter than 6.5CM out to 300. I might think about running it in 3 gun if it catches on

If the 7 milsurps I have are haunted, I'm sure my safe can keep their spirits contained.

Yikes, it's a real barrel burner, like 6.5 CM:
"Approaching 22-250 velocities in a significantly smaller package, the 22 Nosler® yields nearly 25% more capacity than the 223 Rem/ 5.56 NATO making the round capable of pushing a 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip bullet at 3,350 fps out of an AR-15 fitted with an 18” barrel and a 77gr. Custom Competition® bullet at 2,950 fps.
Barrel Life with all barrels, it really depends on how they are treated but one should see approximately 2,000 rounds as used in competition and as many as 4,000 rounds if used as a plinking rifle."
Uses 6.8 SPC mags and you can't use 6.8 SPC brass to reload it either; cool, but expensive all the way around.
Sound expensive to shoot for little gain. Might as well shoot 22-250.

Well. I must be safe, knowing my M1 and my 1911 only killed Nazis, so no souls were damned by that. Maybe my Ariasaka could run the risk of being haunted. It could have slaughtered innocents and shot at Americans bringing freedom to the local isles.
But.. come to think of it.... things have been disappearing and creaking at night in my house since I got it....
Can confirm no ghost in K31.
I have a watch of my granpdas in my safe with it that no longer ticks, and it has not been fixed by swiss magick.

My dad's M1903A3 won't shut up about how it was totally on the beaches of Normandy, shooting krauts.
You were issued to a coastal defense artilleryman who sat on his ass in San Fucking Diego for the entire war you goddamn pog.

Between my m/96 and Mosin, I cannot keep any vodka in my room or it disappears overnight and I am woken up to arguing over Talvisota.

Yeah ATM it's roughly 800$ per 1k using nosler brass/ballistic tips, CCI 400 primers and hogdon varget powder shit's expensive but it's almost 1500$ if you buy the pre-made stuff. The barrel life is a concern but I'm already shooting 6.5CM out of an AR-10 so as long as it's not too much worse than that I'll be fine with it. I'll definitely wait until it gets a bit more manufacturer support though before doing anything

I dont think a Swiss gun has killed anybody in the past 200 years, unless completely by accident.

Didn't they have a number of border skirmishes with Germany during WW2?

Not the best picture.
But the Mini-14 and Bubba'd Schmidt Rubin I picked up along with a fubby five and 10/22.
The Schmidt Rubin was covered in a bunch of white paint specs. Which I've largely gotten rid of, but I want to try to find a stock for it. Although I'd loathe to do it. Because all the serial numbers on the gun, even the mag, are all matching.

iirc most of the people the Swiss killed were American and British (not many). And most Swiss casualties were from the same 2.

Bombers. Swiss didn't want 'em overhead and sometimes allied bombers missed the German mark.

They'd also crash-land on purpose sometimes. My great uncle was a tailgunner on a B-24, they took flak over Germany and managed to crash in Switzerland. He ended up spending the rest of the war in an internment camp.
He always said the Swiss were in cahoots with the Nazis.
They were ready to fight them and the nazi party in Switzerland got the boot pretty hard when they tried something. But yeah, internment with the Swiss was a hell of a lot better than with the Germans

Yeah. I read a pretty good book back in high school about how the Reich was ready to roll into Switzerland from pretty much the get-go, but they just couldn't figure out how to deal with the ridiculously heavily fortified mountain ranges that comprised most of the country.
I suspect he may have ended up at Wauwilermoos, or some place like it.
