So a real M203 is only like $1000, looks like getting a DD is my future
Who knows how much per shell, and they all have their own individual tax stamp. Or just fire flares.
Is your gas block a clamp on, or does it use cross pins? The ammo should be fine, how many times did you fire it and experience that? Were they all consecutive? Is your bolt/carrier lubed?
Its a clamp on. Approximately 10 rounds and all consecutively. Bolt/carrier is lubed.
Yeah the Python is a gorgeous gun. I don't like to buy guns I don't like to look at as much or more than I like to shoot.
You dont want to shoot the Python anyway. Anytime you take it to the range, youll get a 10 minute lecture for shooring it from some fudd
Its a clamp on. Approximately 10 rounds and all consecutively. Bolt/carrier is lubed.
Hmm, yeah, it could very well be out of alignment. Is there any wiggle on the gas block?
Hmm, yeah, it could very well be out of alignment. Is there any wiggle on the gas block?
Took a closer look at the gas block. It didn't look out of place when I initially looked but on a closer inspection it had slid forward a tiny amount.
Realign and bang it some more. If it still has issues after a few mags after realignment, and it's rather new, I'd take it back to the manufacturer/purchaser and have them fix it.
Get some bullet weights in the 60's. That will work much better in the 1:8 barrel.
Fuck, that means I'll have to re-zero :v: Maybe once I've worked through my current supply of 55gr. I've heard good things about 68 grain, think that'd be suitable? Or would it be worth moving all the way up to 75gr HPBT? [editline]14th May 2017[/editline]
Watch that FC brass for signs of case head separation if you plan on reloading it multiple times. also some FC brass has thicker case walls and therefor has over-pressure issues the military stuff usually doesn't have this issue but something to watch out for. also starting low is a good idea but you can safely get up to 22.4 grains with H322 hodgdon recommends 21.0 as a starting load. one of my favorite loads for 55's is 26 grains of varget (I really like varget powder use it for pretty much everything I can haven't found a situation where it doesn't preform comparably or better than other powders) hornady 55 V-max usually LC09 brass CCI 400 primers at 2.200 (some load data recommends 2.250) C.O.L I wouldn't recommend starting with this load but if you feel like experimenting at some point work up to it and see if you like it
I'll keep it in mind, though I'm just following the data listed in Hornady's manual. I bought like 500 pieces of once-fired military brass though, so I don't think it'll be seeing particularly heavy use unless I get really crazy :v: By the way, how can I check the lot number on a 1 lb bottle of Hodgdon powder? Just for records-keeping purposes?
theres two rows of numbers in the middle of the bottle where the label meets top 1st number is bottle size next 6 is date it was put in the bottle next row of 4 is the lot number EDIT: also fair enough on the 19.5 vs 21.0+ grains if you're going by hornadys manual I generally go by powder manufacturer vs bullet manufacturer but whatever you feel comfortable with EDIT NUMERO DOS: the 68gr HPBT's work great in some guns but others don't like em the 75gr SMK's are tack drivers with the right load as are the 69's
theres two rows of numbers in the middle of the bottle where the label meets top 1st number is bottle size next 6 is date it was put in the bottle next row of 4 is the lot number
You're going to have to point it out to me. look for 11 numbers on the 8 lbs it's on a little yellow sticker on the 1lbs I'm used to it being where the labels meet on the caution side but that may of changed haven't bought 1lb in forever EDIT: you can see the lot number on the top right of this image. they may of changed the placement again though like i said [t]http://i.imgur.com/a2D7Ry4.jpg[/t]
Yeah, no. Ain't there.
Got to play with an M107 at the range. what a fuckjnh gun
Anyone know any good target loads for 30-06? I'm considering taking my dad's M1903A3 to a CMP match in August. The rifle has a 2-groove war emergency barrel, if that matters.
Alright, I did it boys. I decided I had enough practical guns (wonder 9's, AR's, bolt actions etc), and decided to get me something purely for the fun factor. Is it normal for Aero Precision to have a 20 day processing time for a lower? They told me 10 days ago that they received the FFL and that it'd be shipped that week...I paid for express shipping and shit. Should I just cancel the order and look elsewhere?
Word of advice for anyone seeking some: do not carelessly toss down a fully loaded magazine on your bed next to your open laptop. It might bounce and land directly on the hard drive compartment, causing a head crash. RIP laptop HDD, all the por- I mean work documents you contained will be missed:hiddendowns:
ah the desert eagle Is it cheap?.......fuck no is it practical?.....not even close is the recoil tame in any sense of the word?......I mean i guess it's not the hardest recoiling pistol i've shot (here's looking at you .475 linebaugh .500 linebaugh and .45-70 BFR) Is it a goddamn blast to shoot?......oh hell yes
Well, SB 1657 is set to move to the House. Fucking Illinois. Oh, that reminds me. There's been an amendment to Illinois Senate Bill 0556:
A person commits the offense of unlawful use of weapons when he knowingly: Carries or possesses on or about his or her person, in any vehicle, or concealed on or about his or her person any semi-automatic assault weapon. I want a federal bill that advances the definition of "antique" to pre-1982 - which would be older than 35 years, the same age as when "antique" was first defined by law in NFA.

I'm sure you don't want to see that.
You'd have them advancing the nfa tax stamp cost too by that logic. I'm sure you don't want to see that.
As a historian, I'd much prefer to establish protections for post-1899 antiques, personally. That would put the tax stamp up to like $4000 which is obnoxious though again a de facto ban on new SBRs and SBSes would be preferable to continuing the pointless destruction of WW2 machine guns and whatnot.
Oh hey look illinois is set to become shittier then it already is because Chicago is a festering hell hole fucking shocker god I'm glad I moved. other than shotguns and bolt guns I don't have a single gun that would be illinois legal if that passed
Put that Mossberg 590 I got up for sale. I just don't care for it. Hopefully I can get some cash for it to put towards a car.
What do you all think about open carry machine pistol's ?
I think without a class 3 SOT and a demo letter new machine pistols (assuming fully auto) are highly illegal to possess much less open carry

Going to write to my rep, because this is the purist form of bullshit i've seen in a while.
