So apparently, this can happen to the unstoppable Glock: Yes, if you dry-fire a Glock a whole lot you can get some pretty weird failure modes, like the whole freaking breechface coming off. These happen from time to time in heavily dry-fired Glock firearms. Lesson learned: Get snap caps for dry firing.
Lesson learned: Glocks aren't worth owning. I stand by my opinion that any gun made since the end of WWI that cannot withstand being dry-fired, especially any modern gun, is not worth owning.
Theyre also virtually non existant and wildly overpriced. [editline]28th September 2016[/editline] I should have phrased that better. Compared to what you can get for the same price for what that gun is, its an awful value. You cam get a Colt AR for about $150 more than that keltec costs.
I'm not looking for a full sized AR, I'm looking for something tiny. I've basically got it narrowed down to the PLR 16 or a CZ EVO.

I'm not saying that couldn't have been the straw that broke the camels back, The firing pin could have been enough to pop it out, but there's more at work there than dry firing alone. The pin would have gone long before the breech face, and judging by how it broke it looks like it has more to deal with shooting stresses on the breech face.

I recommend against one of the pistols because its just awkward and not fun. The evo has a 16 inch rifle version now, which is great.

[editline]28th September 2016[/editline] How are they not fun?
So I got those .30 snap caps in for my C96 and they fucking suck :v: The rims are too small and narrow, so they don't stay straight in the clips like live ammunition does and I usually get one or two that jump right out of the clip when I push them down into the weapon. They also don't eject reliably and the rims are getting chewed up by the extractor whereas the spent cases I used to test the extractor with are totally unmarred. Don't know if this is representative of a-zoom caps in general or if specifically their .30 Mauser caps suck, but either way, these things are not much use to me.
What state do you live in?
Good ol freedom loving Virginia. On another note I have almost no time for fun gun stuff while I'm delegated to the wasteland that is an 8am to 5 pm shift.

Check out how your extractor is engaging normal brass, then the caps. I learned that Walther was cheap and used the exact same extractor and slide assembly for both the 32 ACP and the 380 ACP. Hell, the only real difference between the two models is the barrel and mags. This sort of explains why it chews up snap cap rims.
What? That's a pretty normal shift and many still have time for fun gun stuff :v:
I typically work the graveyard shift. After waking up at 6 and getting off at 5 I'm lucky to be productive enough to shitpost the rest of the day.

[editline]28th September 2016[/editline] How are they not fun?
I still have it but I never shoot it. I sent in SBR paperwork for it ages ago so I figured its a bad idea to have a tax stamp for a gun I dont have. Its just really awkward and heavy without a stock, even with a brace. You really cant fire it very accurately and its honestly a chore to shoot it. With that said, the actual design and ergo of the gun is just fucking fantastic.the magazines are light but durable, the HK style charging handle is just awesome, and the overall handling of the gun is great. It just sucks without a stock. CZ has a full size rifle version now and I highly recommend it. I wish I had waited for it instead of buying the pistol.
Stockless rifles and shotguns are totally horrible. You can't use the sights without looking and feeling like a moron and without the sights you can't hit anything very accurately at all.
given the choice between a CZ evo pistol and a PLR-16 I would go EVO all day every day. The PLR-16 hits that weird price point where it just makes more sense to spend a little more money and build an AR pistol and as it seems you've not got a problem in the money department seeing as you're considering an EVO. I think you would be much happier either building an AR pistol or buying the EVO as opposed to the PLR-16
What happened to the keltec m43 btw? Haven't seen hide nor hair of it since it was announced in 2014
What happened to the keltec m43 btw? Haven't seen hide nor hair of it since it was announced in 2014
It is going to be offered in a very limited quantity at a high price point if they offer it at all. They originally created it as a concept. That said, this isn't a one off thing, glocktalk and glock forum have several documented cases. Most likely a metallurgical failure, or everyone on Team Glock would've seen this by now.
I think the M43 looks really cool. Other than a sub2k, it's the only Kel-Tec I can see myself owning. Too bad they won't even make one with pseudo-bakelite furniture. Would be a good way to keep the Cold War aesthetic but it'd cost a lot less.

Seems a bit harder to find and it doesn't look like it has bottom rails? Probably going to pick one up anyway.

Will do. I've got this thing where I get super specific on 3 completely different guns then just kind of buy one of them at random. [editline]28th September 2016[/editline] Like my RAMI was almost an AR build or a .357
[t]http://i.imgur.com/H7G4CcO.jpg[/t] on saturday I learned just how MASSIVE the lahti is. took a picture of my finnish gf with it too but it turned out shitty. swedish army museum (armémuseet) puts their hands-on deac guns in a really shitty weird permanently fixed position so you can't really move them at all, just crouch down awkwardly and try to aim without breaking your spine.
Dude we can see your mouse cursor in that photo. Did you screencap the museum's website or something?

It's still a very interesting firearm. I've got a customer who has one that he converted to .50 BMG (to get around it being a destructive device) which is a lot of fun to shoot but sure as hell cumbersome when compared to a Barrett M107. Not that a Barrett isn't cumbersome in of itself. A P90 is my dream gun. I've shot plenty, both full auto and semi but I want one for myself. I am very close to getting one through my job, and yes a P90 not a PS90.
I dunno, I've never been a huge fan of the oddball magazine design and placement. If I were allowed to own a submachinegun, I'd prefer something like an MP5 for practical use, and an M1928A1 Thompson for reenactments and fun at the range. That being said, that's just my personal preference. I definitely understand the appeal, it's a handy, well-engineered weapon. The cartridge is pretty dope, too.

Uncle Jimmy, that's cheating!
So do you have an FFL through your job?
01 FFL with SOT 3. We'll probably go 07 this year. AKOU is going to test one of these: https://www.premiershootingsolutions.com/photos.html Looks like a good option to add a side rail to AKs
AKOU is going to test one of these: https://www.premiershootingsolutions.com/photos.html Looks like a good option to add a side rail to AKs
There was a side rail like that on early AKM imports. Basically the pins for the trigger group were just bolts that extended out of the receiver and bolted onto the rail. It was pretty awful since you got so much movement from it. So im extremely skeptical of the master rail. Pretty much every AK now-a-days has the molot rail anyways.
Assembled my lower today: [t]http://i.imgur.com/8sDw8ZL.jpg[/t] And then tested my Chinese upper from my other gun on it, and it fit perfectly: [t]http://i.imgur.com/24SNQ6p.jpg[/t] I learned a lot. Like apparently the hammer has a J-spring in it and that spring was so high it was interfering with putting the retaining pin through the hammer. It took 10 minutes of hammering, injuring my fingers, and fucking round with a screwdriver to finally get it in. The trigger is like 8 pounds or something too, it's a really heavy trigger. I can't imagine I'm going to keep it in this gun for very long. Also apparently the trigger can't be installed with a safety already installed.
