I had a coworker, old milfy lady of course, who I thought was anti gun for some reason. She walked up on me and another coworker talking about guns and asked about it. He walked away and I kinda justified my position on it. I must have sounded crazy because her next move was to inform me she collected antique sex toys and showed me pictures of her collection.
#cocksnotglocks
A pawn shop near me has a 1940 P-38 with its original holster for $1000. Wish I had cash right now.
Working on my Form 1. Is "Armed Insurrection" a valid justification for why I'm making an SBR?
That reminds me, say I wanted to SBR a CZ EVO or similar and put a can on it, about how much would it cost total?
That reminds me, say I wanted to SBR a CZ EVO or similar and put a can on it, about how much would it cost total?
The pistol is right around $800, Tax stamp is $200, plus the cost of filing your Form 4 and whether you do this as an individual or trust, then comes the cost of the suppressor, which could cost as much as the gun itself.
Priority on the SBR it, so it seems rather affordable. Was also looking into the MPX or MPC but I just can't justify 2k
Priority on the SBR it, so it seems rather affordable. MPX mags are also $45, made by Lancer and the guns have 2 generations, each take different mags. CZ Skorpion Evo mags are around $20 and there are quite a few aftermarket parts out for the gun already; everything from ambi safety deletes, custom pistol grips, triggers, and railed forends.
Yeah, the EVO is still the winner in my book. Just trying to decide between doing this or grabbing the carbine, which is about the cost of the pistol+sbr.
I wanna say the cost to file for a form 1 was like $250, but that includes the tax stamp I think. I think the ATF lost my form 1 app, I submitted it 15 months ago and have heard nothibg.
$200 flat for NFA registration. $800 for the gun, and $250-300 for the stock kit.
TNW has a survival rifle in 10mm thats pretty good, and a lot more affordable than a Vector.
Of course you could always take the cheapest of routes RIP Barry
Can anyone fill me on this? I want to buy a new OWB for my Bodyguard 380 and Glock 26 which are my main carry guns. I like the look and feel of the leather Bianchi holster but I noticed it was canted forward a bit. But not to the extreme, thought it was weird and had second thoughts but I may pick it up tomorrow. While looking for an OWB leather holster for my BG380 (Not many out there) I found this which looks good but I notice if you put it on a horizontal belt like intended that the gun is canted to the extreme. Why? [t]https://i.gyazo.com/b3c97cfb72f64380c9b5d9861963d647.png[/t] What possible reason does this have?

I can't imagine putting my C96 in a kydex holster. I have a custom leather holster for it.
So I went to a great rifle and pistol course over the weekend and learned quite a bit. I definitely want to take my wife there to do a beginner course for her.
IMO, I wouldn't do leather with a Glock or other striker fired pistol, that could cause an ND when re holstering.
How? [editline]16th October 2016[/editline] Also does anyone have an answer for why these holsters are canted so much?
The only thing I can think of is it might make drawing from the holster easier with that tiny grip if you're wearing it in the 4-5 o'clock range. Also, is your BG380 one of the integrated laser variants? I've got a pair of holsters for my old one I no longer own that is taking up space in my closet. (one of which being a DeSantis, and has the same extreme cant to it)
IMO, I wouldn't do leather with a Glock or other striker fired pistol, that could cause an ND when re holstering.
BG380s are hammer fired, double action only with a concealed hammer.
Take a picture of the holsters? I may buy them off you.
Yea dont use leather holsters. Its a huge safety risk.
Yea dont use leather holsters. Its a huge safety risk.
I googled what the safety risk is. Now that I'm aware of it I'm not worried about it. People have used leather holsters for years and years and I can only find two examples online of that ND and one of them was a fabric holster. I just gotta keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't wear out around the trigger guard and if it does I'll get a new one. It's kind of like how everyone cries about how deadly unsafe the SERPA holsters are and I've used them for years.

There was a guy in this thread who had an ND because of a leather holster. Most people who have NDs dont post it on a forum. Just because you dont read about it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Just buy the kydex holster dood. Quit trying to be a hipster contrarion
I went to a gun show today and spent more on foodstuff than I did on gun stuff. What's wrong with me? Though I did get my hands on a CZ EVO pistol, definitely SBRing one.

I want an OWB holster that stays as close to my body as I can get. It has nothing to do with being a hipster it's a CCW holster no one will ever see it.

Theyre like 1/10th of the width of a leather or plastic holster. If youre finding kydex holsters that are bigger profile than a leather one, then youre not looking at kydex holster. The one I have for my USP makes it more concealing than leather holster for my CZ75b does.
I might seem out of my place here, but it's very gun related and I would very much like to appeal for some advice.
AKS-74U as it appears in World of Guns: Disassembly
I've been considering building myself an accurate imitation of an AKS-74U using either 3D printing and/or Lost Foam Aluminum Casting to use as a hero prop for filming and reenactment/cosplay. The gun would not be designed to fire any projectiles and just cycle/eject dummy rounds/casings with compressed air/gas in the piston for visual effect, but it would be constructed entirely from parts accurate to the real thing. If need be, there would be a swappable muzzle-break that is brightly coloured, as well as other interchangeable part substitutes (ie solid mags, static bolt carrier) that would make it more friendly to take to appropriate events such as conventions, etc.
In pieces...
However I have concerns with legalities since parts like springs and magazines could be considered actual firearm parts. I have no means or skill to make workable spring parts myself unfortunately. I'd be certain that it isn't legal for me to order firearm parts of any description from anywhere, which would make getting original spring parts a large no-no which is a shame since I wanted use intentionally weakened springs to use for the build. Getting springs (or any of the parts) manufactured by a third-party company has me afraid that it could be deemed suspicious or criminal to manufacture weapon parts and I could get in trouble for it. I'm not sure what the case is since there isn't anything specific telling me that you can't make imitation firearms here in Australia. I don't know... Maybe I'm in way over my head with this. I just really want to make a highly detailed hero prop that I can enjoy using in my future projects and take to conventions, but it sounds like it might be a large hassle if it's treated with the same regulations as real firearms. :frown:
If you are 3D printing the parts, none of them could stand the pressure of a live cartridge, so it couldn't realistically be considered a firearm, but you can build the bolt with no firing pin, a flat face, and a breech plugged barrel. Deac guns are legal in Australia so I'm sure you could legally get any AK part that isn't considered "the firearm"; e.g. the receiver. Don't take this as legal counsel since I'm American but as far as I know this is all accurate.
Just buy an airsoft gun.
Just buy an airsoft gun.
airsoft is banned in Australia :v: Tecnicast, look up your country's laws regarding deactivated firearms. Figure out what the legal differences between a deactivated firearm and a functional firearm are, and what the requirements are for ownership of the former. If the Australian law is similar to the UK's, you might be required to first obtain a license, then register it. Get with download as well. He's a legal firearm owner in your country, he might be able to help you more. [editline]17th October 2016[/editline]
not to rain on your parade but i doubt that 3d printing will let you print parts that will last more than a couple cycles/dry fires. there is a lot of pressure on the hammer, sear, auto sear when you cycle the bolt. likevise letting the bolt slam home will no doubt create cracks in the receiver
That depends on how strong the springs are. If you're using original spec parts, yeah, you're gonna wreck it in no time. If you use custom, low-strength springs, you shouldn't have that problem. He may still want to make select parts out of metal.
