I'm trying to buy this K31 carbine off a guy but he has yet to respond :(

I yearn for the days of quick responses when you contacted the guy the day of his posting
Once. I didn't like it for CC, but my clothes are usually rather slim fitting in the torso area so it just stuck out like a sore thumb no matter what. There are some of those ultra low profile ones that go under a button down but that just seems counterproductive.
I just ordered one for my CZ75. I feel that it would be perfect for winter time where I live when youre wearing layers. Probably use that in winter then get a kydex belt holster for summer.
Did the actual holster work well and sit comfortably? Easy to draw from?

I didn't use it long enough to really say due to mentioned form factor issues. My ex's dad loves his though and he draws smooth from it.

I probably wouldn't mind one for my 4506 in less public situations though. Like winter hiking or just out and about not really stopping anywhere.

ITALIA STRONG
What are you guys going to be shooting at that competition? Rifles, pistols, what?
It's a handguns only match as far as I know. I'm thinking of shooting in Open and Standard classes. I know I'll be at a disadvantage, especially in Open, but not everyone has to be there with a 20 000$ race gun.
I'm super late here but nobody mentioned that this is pretty much how the original Maxim gun worked. Check out this video:
Skip to 1:05. You can see how under recoil the joint mechanism spins basically like a piston and then comes back to close the action. According to ForgottenWeapons, it originally continued in a single direction of rotation like a piston rather than reverse direction after each shot, but this led to its rate of fire increasing as it built up rotational momentum and this was deemed unacceptable.
The comments on the forgotten weapons page also mention another flywheel delayed machine-gun developed in Russia in the 1930's. It had an extremely high firing rate at 5000 RPM, and failed due to wearing out barrels extremely quickly.

There's an article in what appears to be Russian on this machine-gun: http://raigap.livejournal.com/152801.html
Celebrated getting my CWP by buying a glock 19 last night. ITs surprisngly comfortable.

Went to a gun show today. Traded for a new pistol (P320 Subcompact), got a bayonet for my K31, an ammo can, and morale patches. Good times.
4 out of 10 shots landed on a 2'' x 2'' steel target at 300 yards, standing with no optic. The gun? Hex mosin. Felt real good hearing that ding.

So you mean a 2 foot by 2 foot target?
The price on PTR MSGs just went up about $300+ and all the gunbroker listings are gone... :suicide:

When I saw this post I went to check some distributors. of the 15 I work with none have any. My guess is they'll do another run of them some time next year.

On distributor for them on Gunbroker said they were expecting a shipment of them in January. But I am not sure how reliable that is since PTR beforehand said they only make them when there is a big enough demand from the distributors for them.

I could buy a real MSG-91/PSG-1 for $3200 :S
If I wanted to change the gas block on my AR-15 to one with a forward ironsight, would it be more practical to hire someone to do it or to attempt it myself? I don't have any of the tools that I would need to do it successfully. Should I buy them or hire a gunsmith?

It's definitely worth it to go ahead and buy the tools you need because they'll definitely come in handy down the road. Either route you take, go ahead and get the tools.

Hell. At that point, I'd rather pick up a SCAR-17.
Selling my Chinese AR and my 1911-380. Probably gonna net me about $1200 for both, AR for $650 and 1911 for about the same, assuming I don't trade for something.
Well, long time since posting last, but I was taken shooting today, was able to shoot an AR-15 for the first time, m1 garand, VEPR12, for the first time as well, along with Akimbo Steyrs, the AR-15 just holy hell, I knew it didn't kick at all, but wow.

Best thing about the AR (other than it being a $2,000 custom job) was that the owner was a legitimate Bosnian out in the middle of nowhere Indiana (also I've switched from brinks to garda)

I thought that was well known.
He defies stereotypes which allows morons to make hugely incorrect assumptions about him.
What a cool guy
Ordered a kreiger custom barrel for my AR10 build (6.5 Creedmoor 24" Fluted satin SS, 1 in 8 TR, threaded for an eventual suppressor) also ordered a 17.2" JL billet M-LOK handguard and a geiselle SD-E trigger. What should of been a relatively cheap build is creeping up on being more expensive than my custom R700 however with a little luck it'll be a tackdriver

Rule #1 in dealing with ARs: There is no such thing as "cheap".
I got a cheap foregrip for my AR.

Speaking of ARs, I can't wait for Clinton to get elected today so I can sell mine.
