If Trump reopens the MG registry, the media are going to have a fun time explaining how MGs weren't trivially easy to get before.
Oh, they won't have to. They'll just post article after article about how Trump wants to put dangerous, military-grade, baby-killing murder-machines in YOUR neighborhood!
Been hearing some rumors that some of the newly voted Senators are finally going to push the Hearing Protection Act for voting, any one have any more info?
Somewhere in this interview, DJT jr says that if the HPA reaches Donald's desk, he'll sign it. a signed HPA, working towards constitutional carry for all states and hopefully ditching the NFA? fuck yes can i get a hallelujah. I'm not the biggest fan of trump but I'll be damned if i don't really like some of his policies and Hillary may very well be Satan in a pantsuit
How much did you pay for it?
$1,200.

I can't fucking get gas in NJ right across the border with my NY permit or I go to county jail and don't get out unless I pay bail. It's like getting arrested in NJ for having a NY drivers license. Absolute lunacy. Also Korea still has stockpiles and stockpiles of M1 Garands and M1 Carbines they're waiting to give back to us. If Trump repeals some executive orders like he said he will we can finally get them and not only do we get them we get them cheap [editline]10th November 2016[/editline] And as far as the NFA goes. I'm not saying we need to have full-autos unregulated like shotguns and .22 rifles but some of the shit in the NFA is retarded. Silencers and SBR laws specifically are what I want taken out. If you put a plastic stock on your pistol it's a felony. Come on now, that's silly. Or if you get an arm brace and shoulder it that's a felony too. Let's just be grown ups and acknowledge that's ridiculous.
If Garands and M1s become the new cheap rifles on the market.... I'd be so, so damn happy.
But in August 2013, Obama reversed course again. With an executive order banning reimportation of the M1s, the president publicly embraced the argument that an infusion of 10-pound, three-and-a-half-foot-long, 60-year-old wooden rifles could endanger American citizens. “This new policy will help keep military-grade firearms off our streets,” read a news release. With a single stroke, Obama scribbled out all previous strokes and ended the dream of a million old-yet-new M1 rifles entering the U.S. market.
I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW READING THIS UGGGH
An M1 Carbine might actually be my ideal truck gun. I am very stoked. Can I start buying .30 Carbine in bulk yet?

I own 2 .300BLK SBR's that are perfectly legal here however if I were to take them back to illinois I would end up in FMITA prison regardless of the fact that the only thing that has been changed is the addition of a stock. I originally built them in Illinois on pistol lowers but since I added a NEA CCS stock to one and a deadfoot arms MCS to the other they automatically became illegal in illinois without a C&R license as far as machine guns go I don't believe they should be unregulated but at the very least the hughes amendment should be repealed
There is absolutely no reason vintage machine guns should be torch-cut by the dozen and absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to bring one back to life the way it was designed.

I still need to get my Colorado resident permit now.
Why did I buy a bunch of M855 first instead of XM193? I shot a bunch of XM193 today and it was much more accurate out of my AR.
Also, in case I run into anyone who was trying to make a quick buck on an AR and got screwed up by the election, what are some midrange AR15's with very standard parts that I could build off that I should keep a lookout for?
My MP-15 is probably the best off-the-shelf AR I've played with in its price range, but I'm by no means well-exposed to the AR market, so take that for what it's worth.
Yeah that is a great buy. Good value for money and from a reputable manufacturer. You could always build if you have the tools as well. If you don't, it's a little investment but worth it if you plan on building multiple rifles.
I'm planning on building it. Just figured if I see some guy trying to offload one for cheaper than a build because he was planning on flipping it I want to know what to grab.
I've shot a few different MP-15s, a Daniel Defense, and a Colt. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between them. Basically if you buy from a reputable manufacturer, you'll get a good rifle.
Well as I said in my post I'm also looking for a very standardized AR. To be able to SBR and such down the line.
Well as I said in my post I'm also looking for a very standardized AR. To be able to SBR and such down the line.
It was my understanding that the AR15 platform... is a standard. Am I wrong? In what cases would one buy any shelf AR and not be able to... swap the upper or change the barrel or whatever?

It's mostly in spec, but if you want to replace the front-sight frame, you'd need to replace the barrel, owing to the positioning of the taper-pin holes. Good price though, and it shoots just fine.
In case anyone is wondering, heres Trump's official paper on his plans for guns and the 2nd amendment for his first term. [editline]11th November 2016[/editline] Honestly I teared up a bit reading it. Of all the people in the world to propose sane and responsible gun regulation, it's fucking Donald Trump. I'm so fucking happy that we don't have to worry about bans, restrictions, and price gouging for the next few years. This is incredible.

Can anybody school me on the Colt Series 80 1911s? My father has been wanting a 1911 for a while now and one of his co-workers has one he said he'd sell him for $700. I haven't seen pictures of it yet and I haven't felt up enough of them to have formed an opinion on it.
What you want to know? I don't have a lot of hands on time with the 80s, but I know a fair bit of the series 70 and the older models.
Isn't the only difference in the 80s is a firing pin block?
That is what I was most curious about. Does it have much of an effect on trigger pull? I have shot a Colt Gold Cup and really enjoyed it due to how crisp the trigger was... But then again, I also enjoy my TT-33 for the same reason.
Father and I ordered our Beretta Silver Pigeon Classic today :toot: Oh, and Make America Great Again! :toxx:

You CAN use gas blocks that lock onto the barrel with set screws or clamps. Both work well when tightened down right along with loctite. The set screw one will need a divot drilled into the barrel to have the screw set in. It's to prevent it from moving out of place when tightening it. The 70's do not have them. The Series 80's does so there's a few extra pieces both in the slide and frame. If you ever detail strip it, you may have trouble reinstalling the piece that pushes the block up. It also has a standard barrel bushing. Series 70's has a 4 fingered collet bushing that put tension on the barrel to center it. It won't matter in the long run though, it's a solid Colt 1911 unless other things have been done to it or neglect.
