The new mainsprings for my pietta finally showed up. Apparently, 2-3 day shipping actually means 2-3 days after when you email them about why they havent shipped it 8 days after your order. Time to fix the yankee ghettoblaster
Damnit, the trigger spring is snapped too. Time to wait another 2 weeks.
Sounds like Piettas are pieces of shit. Parts breaking from minimal use.
Yeah, they really are. Its a good thing I like wasting my time and money on broken garbage projects.
Well, I mean, when I think Italian guns, I think super high quality. Just ask Carcano fans.
The issue with piettas is tolerances & heat treatment. The parts are all fit too tightly together and the springs aren't treated right. My Sten is here, I guess showing forgiveness caused the UPS gods to smile on me. The bolt is fucking massive.
Hey, a guy on here posted a video of him firing his AR-15, and it had this silver muzzle brake on it. It kind of changed the firing sound to this higher pitched PING sound. Who was that and what muzzle brake was that, anyone know?
KAC Triple Tap muzzle brake, made of inconel. Expensive as hell, and the gases burn it and it can't be polished back afterwards. The "2" stamped beside it is part of "22" which is on a few other parts, I don't think it's part of the serial number. I can't find any other markings on it except the "LB" for Line Bros., the manufacturer.

I think my problem is I'd be too tempted to... Well lets just say all you need is a tube, a grinder, and a welder.

Typical southerner : No sir I've never seen that box before I'm my life that's barried conviently in my backyard that I just so happen I have bulk ammo to feed what's inside it. No sir thoes nuts and adapters go to a transmission they defently do not perfectly thread onto a ar or oil filter.

Good thing we caught it in time! Unregistered machine-guns have been known to whisper words of madness into the dreams of everyone within a block's radius! I'd have given it a month longer before you'd turned into a raving, one-man militia!

Hello ATF I don't know these people
Lightning what? [t]http://firearmdeals.com/Dons/LL08122007_%20001.jpg[/t] No sir this is a vintage bottle opener, I collect bottle openers.
So anyone familiar with CHL and the process... I saw something that caught my attention. I've been wanting to get my CHL for some time, but i've just never had the time or taken the time to do it. However I seen I can take an online class that is based out of Virginia and apparently I can apply it to get a CHL in Texas. Does anyone know how this works and if it is even legal? I don't mind taking a 6 hour class, but apparently you can do the class for less then 20 bucks and it takes an hour online...It would be really convenient for me. At the same time I think the class is 6 hours for a reason.

If you're a TX resident I'm not sure what their laws are, but if the state recognizes online training as valid for applying for a CHL then you likely can do that.
Yeah non resident Virginia permits are legit, though there's been a shakeup in reciprocity lately.
Just came back from the gun shop. Went in looking for a S&W 19 or a Colt Police Positive. Ended up finding a S&W 10-6 heavy barrel with Magna grips in impeccable condition for $600. It's now sitting on layaway for me.::excited: Pics when I get it.

The enhanced one has more reciprocity than texas'.
Today I rented a gun to mocap person that works for Cloud Imperium games. "Which gun would you recommend that isn't too cliche so I can see how recoil really feels and looks? Would a glock be fun?" Love my job.
While you're at it, show them how guns actually look :v:
Come on guys don't tease SVTs I want one toooooo
Well, after going to two gun stores, a Gander Mountain, and looking on line; I still can't find the damn bolt for the end of my pump to my 7600. What the shit? It's amazing how a fifty cent screw can impede the easy use of a firearm and how NO ONE has any or even knows what the hell I want. The closest offer I had to help was 'Well, if you leave the rifle with us, we can repair it for you...'

Otherwise you could try numerich if you don't want to deal with Remington customer service.
Took out the XT-22R for it's first shot, took a while to sight it in, but for my first time in shooting rifle in ages, I'm happy with my grouping. Best grouping I got at 50m [t]http://i.imgur.com/gF7Q0kb.jpg[/t] For $400, I'm happy with what I got. The Nikko Stirling held up surprisingly well.
Hey Grenadiac, forgot to mention, I won a Gunbroker auction over the weekend for a C96. It appears to be a Chinese import with mismatched frame and barrel assembly. The frame shows minor pitting under the bluing so it's been reblued, but some of the parts on the barrel assembly have nitre bluing (not really visible in this pic), which to my knowledge wasn't typical for refinished Chinese guns. It's also been rebored to 9mm. Scheduled to arrive Friday. I'm pretty excited to get my hands on it and figure out just what exactly it is.
Awesome find! What'd you pay for it? Looks like it's in great shape, especially by Chinese import standards. I don't see any aggressive pitting on the usual spots. Keep in mind all the Chinese brooms are original German guns that were bought after WW1. The Chinese army then shot the hell out of them and when they were stored, they were mostly stored in pieces. It may not have any Chinese markings, even if it was used by the Chinese. If it's just the frame and barrel that are mismatched, you shouldn't have any of the reliability issues endemic with Chinese imports. Tear it down when you get it and see if the lockwork is all numbered to the frame and that the bolt and bolt stop are numbered to the barrel. Also pull the grips, there's a serial number on the inside of each panel. Knowing how much of a frankengun it is will be helpful when it comes to diagnosing any issues it may have. A lot of the 70s and 80s Chinese imports were imported in parts bins and assembled at random and since these are hand-made, hand-fitted guns you can imagine how that caused problems. A competent gunsmith can do the fitting needed to bring a Chinese import into line. I know a few guys who specialize in C96s and can refer you to them if needed. While you have it apart, inspect the bolt stop carefully for peening or cracks. This is the only part of the gun that will fail in your lifetime. The Chinese shot their brooms a lot and Chinese ammo through the Cold War wasn't the highest quality. Any over powered ammunition will cause the bolt to batter the bolt stop, which, when it fails, is designed to catch the bolt one last time, preventing it from launching out of the frame and into your eye - but it doesn't always happen that way. If the bolt stop needs to be replaced, I know of a guy who makes them for $70 apiece. Be careful putting it back together because there's some component (I can't remember which) that can go in upside down. If that happens and you put it back together that way, it won't come apart again and a gunsmith will have to drill through the frame to free it. Let me know how it shoots. I almost envy people with 9mm brooms because they're so much easier to get ammo for, but then again I wouldn't modify mine for a million bucks. If you do want to convert yours back to 7.63, I can show you where to have that done for $200.
