Went and shot my 1917 enfield today along with some other guns. Still pretty damn accurate at 100yds after 99 years.
Tested out my P220 today with a new recoil spring. For whatever reason with the old rolled steel slides they put a 16lbs recoil spring in it, with the current production stainless having a 20lbs. Considering stainless is heavier you'd think it would be the other way around. Prior to putting the 20lbs spring in it was painful to shoot, now with it it's gravy. I even chucked in some 255gr Buffalo Bore +P's and it was just fine, though it did cause the slide to bottom out.
What year is your P220? My P220 Elite Stainless definitely has a 20lb spring, which somehow feels even heavier than the 24lb spring in my G20.

About 93'-94' ish. Yeah, the 20lbs spring feels like a ton compared to the original 16.
I really want the new Canik TP9SFX however because of the 20Rd mag and CO's stupid ass magazine laws (because mass shooters are super worried about magazine capacity in the commission of mass murder....) I can't find anywhere that will sell it to me even though I can remove the extension and install a magblock to "comply" I see a trip to a more gun friendly state in the near future
We need a super spergy CO Gunpunch meet.

So you can fondle each others 5 round magazines?

Fingers crossed, and let's hope the rhetoric doesn't get too stupid.
If it's passed, I'm going to CC into New York and visit family, and take my grandfather shooting.
I might look into threaded barrels again if this passes.
Uh has anyone here used a Knoxx Specops gen 3 stock? Does it actually reduce 80% of felt recoil, because that seems like a reeallll stretch.

Some people have had reported an increase in felt recoil from the stock slamming into their cheek. It might be worthwhile if you are shooting a pistol grip only shotgun, but not a full stock. I don't trust Knox's products to do anything worth while.
If you want to reduce recoil in a shotgun, make it heavier, use reduced recoil loads, install a recoil absorbing pad on the stock, or get a stock fitted specifically for you.

Dear god it's actually happening possibly no more silly ass tax stamps and able to CC without needing 3 different concealed carry licenses. Not to mention if the HPA passes as written i'll get 800$+ back depending on when it passes

I'll still be SOL here in Illinois though. IIRC, they've banned NFA items outright.
Thanks for reminding me that I have a small sized backstrap for my M&P waiting at the post office. For me the issue is mostly with Brownells sending shit only once a week.

So many of you probably know the Finnish surplus webstore Varusteleka, it turns out they're going to the States for Shot Show and wanted suggestions for what else they should do while they're there. Since a few weeks ago Ian from Forgotten Weapons discovered their page and posted about it on the Forgotten Weapons Facebook page (and Varusteleka returned the favour), I figured I'd suggest they meet and go shooting. Both Varusteleka and Ian himself responded favorably to the idea.

I don't drive through commie states like Colorado. On my drive from FL to ND in December, I added extra hours to my drive to specifically avoid Illinois lol.

Got to shoot some IPSC today, both pistol and rifle, I had only prepared for pistol, so I had to borrow a rifle, and got to borrow a SAR-M1 in .223

Really fun gun to shoot and I think I might end up buying one down the road.

Don't do it, .223 AKs are the bastard children of the AK world and mags are expensive.
H&K is opening a plant in the USA
COLUMBUS, GA – Heckler & Koch, a manufacturer of firearms and accessories, will invest $28.5 million to expand its existing operations in Columbus, Georgia. The new 50,000 square-foot facility in the Corporate Ridge Business Park will be ready in the summer of 2017 at which time HK will consolidate its New Hampshire operations into Columbus.
HK worked closely with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Development Authority of Columbus prior to making the decision that is expected to create 84 new jobs over the next 2 years.
“HK’s new U.S. factory will make use of advanced manufacturing technologies and will be staffed by German and American engineers and technicians,” said Francisco Hidalgo, CEO of HKUSA. “The HK products will maintain the same level of quality and reliability that the consumer has grown to expect from HK. Our company motto is and will remain ‘No Compromise’.”
“Georgia’s pro-business environment and well-connected logistics network allows manufacturing companies to thrive in our state,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Heckler & Koch’s decision to expand its existing operations corroborates our efforts to not only attract companies to Georgia, but to also retain them and support their growth. We look forward to working with our partners in Columbus to support HK in all of their endeavors.”
“One of our main priorities is to assist existing companies to achieve success,” said Brian Anderson, president & CEO of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. “By taking time to understand HK’s business, our team was able to provide the company access to valuable resources and guidance that will keep them firmly planted in the Columbus region.
“HK has been a company that has quietly excelled in Columbus for many years and we are certainly excited about their investment and plans to hire more people,” said Russ Carreker, chairman of the Development Authority of Columbus. “Columbus is a great place to achieve business success and we’re grateful HK chose to grow its business here.”
HK already has factories here Im pretty sure, or at least assembly plants. My USP is marked as made in Alabama.
HK is just moving out of New Hampshire. We're not getting any more rifles from them. Its well known that HK hated the Civilian market.

I thought that was mostly due to shit like the assault weapon import ban.
Get a Mosin - Y/N? It's a hex receiver, decent condition, 1928 Izhevsk manufacture. I'm selling a decent .22 and hoping to spend very little on a new gun.
