I'm planning on possibly building an ar15 and possibly buying a hunting rifle to bag deer. What would you guys recommend in terms of parts and retailers to buy from?
Ruger American rifles will do you well for a budget hunting rifle. Otherwise, buy a used one. Building your AR is another thing. What do you want your AR to do that an Off the Self one can't do with minimal modification.
2 grand is too much for a clone.
Thats the cheapest option that isn't garbage. Those are made on HK tooling in Turkey, the only thing closer is an HK gun itself and those are even more expensive. [editline]16th January 2017[/editline]
There's no way I'd have the money ready for it but I fucking wish.
It's still a ways out. I talked to my Sig guy last week and he said they've got a bunch of frames done, but they still have to do all the slides and barrels. If we do see it this year we're looking 3rd/4th quarter.
Found out that this thing exists. LVTP 5

Just off the top of my head I'll second lone_stars suggestion of the ruger american I got a ruger american predator in 6.5CM. another one to look at is savage specifically the 10/110,11/111 and 16/116 trophy hunter lines real nice rifles for the money (500-600$ with scope) comes with a 3-9x40 nikon scope another plus is savages accutriggers are really nice for a stock trigger and comes in every caliber from 22-250 to .338 win mag

They're extremely good rifles, very cheap, and have the best possible trigger you can get in a bolt gun that doesn't cost $3,000. A lot of them come with decent scopes pre-installed too. Can't help you with the AR-15, but they're so cheap now that you don't save a whole lot by building one. Hell, Colt AR's are like $700 now. [editline]17th January 2017[/editline] Don't buy Ruger.
Magpul has a pretty interesting "History of the PMAG" booth at SHOT show [t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7371.jpg[/t][t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7372.jpg[/t] [t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7375.jpg[/t][t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7376.jpg[/t] [t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7366.jpg[/t][t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/img_7367.jpg[/t]
Don't buy Ruger.
Eh. I've heard bad things about Ruger American rifles (particularly relating to the cost and reliability of the magazine), but my AR556 works fine, albeit after a trip back to the manufacturer. Quality control is kinda shit from my limited experience, but they redeem themselves with excellent customer service.

Also land or water doesn't matter, all I can describe about riding in one is imagine being crammed as tightly as possible inside a metal box full of other Marines and exhaust fumes and going over a roller coaster in it. Shit sucks.

I'm sure their ARs can be fine but I wouldnt trust it.

I had a ball bearing fall out of my GP100's cylinder arm. I found it and put it back, and it seems to spin and double-action seems fine, but I don't know if I now need to replace the cylinder arm or not.

Those are supposed to be retained with some staking but it shouldn't hurt since you almost never have to pull the cylinder off a Ruger. I've pulled the cylinder off a few times before, but it's a bitch to do every time so I don't do it.

Bought it second-hand so I don't know about the previous owner, but I've taken the cylinder off 4 or 5 times and shot about 150 .38 and 450 .357.
Put the paperwork for my handgun licence in. Wooh, now I just have to go through the 6 month waiting period again.

[t]http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/IMG_0059.jpg[/t] I was kinda excited for this until they revealed the pricetag $2500 for a M16A1 clone? Fuck off, Colt
Send an email to Ruger, that should not be happening unless you are using some truly shit ammo at 500 rounds at a time.
I'll be calling them tomorrow.

Fuck off, Colt
Aside from the pony on it the pricing makes sense though. The original forging forms from years ago have long since been scrapped, so new forging forms had to be made. Forging is an expensive process, and the only real reasons other AR's are so cheap these days is because everyone gets their forgings from the same 10 outfits who make them in the hundreds of thousands which brings the cost down.
Anywhere you can get grips for a eaa windicator .357? Stock grip sucks ass and google hasnt shown me anything so far.

Their receivers are pretty close/similar to a M16A1's and do not come from old parts kits or anything I don't understand what Colt is doing that would make it cost 2x as much as this
It has Colt written on the side.
Anyone got an idea where i can buy straight pulls of rifles like the FAL, G3 or other military/battle rifles? Copies, licensed or whatever. Britbong laws are rubbish so i'm stuck trying to find straightpulls.
It has Colt written on the side.
This^. You're not buying the gun, you're buying the brand.
This^. Sure 80% of the rifles in daniel defense, noveske and PWS's catalog? you got it any F1 BDR-15 that's not cerakoted? yup 2 aero precision M4E1's and a TP9SA? yaaasss
straight pull ar15, slr l1a1/fn fal, ak, svd and a couple other are quite "common" in the uk
Don't you, or a gunsmith in this case, just have to disconnect or block their gas ports/tube?

If anything, Colt should have contracted them to make em to bring the price down since they had the forgings process down.
