The Ruger Blackhawk is larger than the original Peacemaker, right? I have a 1970s Armi Jager Peacemaker clone that's something like 25% larger and the hand keeps snapping and gunsmiths keep trying to put Pietta/Uberti hands in it even when I tell them not to and it works for a few days then breaks the hand again. I'm wondering if a Blackhawk hand might work with some fitting.
You might want to find a real gunsmith then. It sounds like you need a hand crafted and case hardened part.
The old style blackhawk/vaquero is larger than the original peacemaker the new style is much closer in size to a peacemaker. if it's 25% larger or there abouts the old style blackhawk hand MIGHT work try calling/emailing this guy http://www.codyscowboyshop.com/ he does work on EMF's (armi jagers were imported by EMF) might be able to point ya in the right direction
I'll shoot him an email today, thanks for the tip. Haven't been able to find anyone who still has parts or knows where to find them, so this is a boon.

I love my Pietta 1851 but it had to travel back to Italy and get rebuilt and hand-fitted with hand-select guts by Alessandro Pietta himself before it actually acted right. :v: No issues with it now, it locks up tighter than a nun's cunny and shoots straight as an arrow. But it's tedious to load and shoot so most of my time with it is spent cleaning it for an hour after putting five or six shots through it.
I replaced all the springs with replacments from the internet and prayed they werent oem parts. It seems to fuction alright now, but i havent fired it yet, too cold outside. [editline]30th January 2017[/editline] Ive got spares either way
So the aero ac-15 is slightly cheaper than armalite def-15 and comes with rear sights. Do gun dealerships typically charge you if you send FFL required items to them and pick them up?
Man I'm fucking annoyed. Fuck SafeAct and fuck people who have no idea what the law actually is. So basically I went to order the Bullpup Unlimited Kit from Bud's Gunshop. So, the Bullpup kit is legal, nothing wrong with it. Fixed magazine so that means by law in NY you can have a pistol grip, forward grip on it, whatever you want and the kit isn't a firearm it's a plastic stock more or less. But I added a Magpul MOE grip to replace the A1 style pistol grip and a Magpul RVG for the pump to the order. So I get an email like ten minutes later saying the order is on hold and to call them, so I do and they said it's on hold because I have "RESTRICTED" items in my cart and it turns out to be the MOE/RVG grip. So I told them to take the items out but I'm fucking annoyed because there is no law against selling me parts like that, it's ONLY illegal if I put those on an """"ASSAULT WEAPON""" and since there is a Bullpup Unlimited kit in the order it's pretty obvious what I'm going to do with them. You can buy MOE/RVG grips at my local Gander Mountain for fucks sake. It was just cheaper on Buds. Fuck it's like all the dumb fucks who won't ship us ammo even though it's 100% legal. Or even worse are all the gun shops and websites that saw SafeAct get passed and said "We will not ship ANYTHING to this state anymore" you're punishing the wrong people you assholes. Move
Move
Thanks I didn't have any idea I could do that. You going to give me a loan and a new job to finance it?

Stay strong, one day you maybe be liberated

Let's take all the fun out of it." and passed the laws we have today that makes them oppressive socialist states. Honestly if they repealed SafeAct I could live here my entire life happily even if NYC is a huge cancerous tumor on the rest of us. My only hope is that they bring assault weapons bans and magazine bans before the Supreme Court and rule them unconstitutional. That will save us all. As it is though no state is safe. Slowly but surely the liberals draw up their plans against us.
I'm a department store security guard by day and I engrave anime tiddies into wood by night.
Transfer to a different store out of state and ask for a travel loan. They'll take like $30 off each paycheck till you pay it back.

Seems like most Californian subjects like their laws, but most places in New York are completely shut out by the dominance of NYC. I feel you on the last part. Virginia is already fairly blue, but it seems as though most people like their guns enough to ward off any really insidious legislation. At the rate things are going though, I wanna fuck off to Wyoming and never look back.
Transfer to a different store out of state and ask for a travel loan. They'll take like $30 off each paycheck till you pay it back.
It's more complicated. If I really, really wanted to move I could buy a van and just live out of it. It doesn't bother me but my family is important to me and I'm not really big on relocating my entire family, especially when they also have jobs, responsibilities and so on. We'd have to sell the house, get new jobs (Only one of us works a job they can transfer) and at the end of the day, why? So I can own an AR with a 30 round magazine? Was it really worth uprooting my entire life and changing my lifestyle just so I can own a specific type of gun? I live in a nice area, all my friends are here, my entire life is here. I just figure until they repeal SafeAct or Andrew Cuomo dies I'll just focus primarily on shotguns anyway. They're fun to shoot, cheap to shoot and entirely legal. At the end of the day until Cuomo sends in the national guard to confiscate them door-to-door it's just a hobby for me. I played their dumb game and got a pistol permit too so it's not like I can't carry, I can and do CC everyday. I'm just annoyed once in awhile for a variety of reasons, doesn't mean I need to move yet. The funniest shit is this year we get to vote on redistricting the state but the most ironic thing about it is that NYC will out-vote the rest of us no matter what so they're going to control the state forever. Also if you need any more evidence how fucked up NYC and how badly it fucks us look at SafeAct. [t]https://i.gyazo.com/cebffd7bbec9e1050d41d6b92777c997.png[/t] When people complain about the electoral college system being broken, NY is a perfect example of WHY we need it. Imagine if what happens in NY happened on a national scale and a dozen cities were the only ones who got to decide who was our president every four years. [editline]30th January 2017[/editline] I live on Orange County by the way. It's the one that looks like a wolf's head.
Every rural NY'er Ive ever met wants to push NYC into the ocean and watch it sink. Its like the rest of the country with CA, on a smaller scale.
Yeah, upstate actually seems like it'd be a fairly nice place to live (never been tobNY, but this is what I've heard from anecdotes and my own reading) if you didn't have a bunch of screaming jackasses in the very very bottom corner of the state constantly reminding you nothing can ever be perfect. Cascadia pt. 2: east coast edition when Secession is always the answer
Just need to make NYC a state.
How about a country [editline]30th January 2017[/editline] how about a crater?
Every rural NY'er Ive ever met wants to push NYC into the ocean and watch it sink. Its like the rest of the country with CA, on a smaller scale.
It's like how most of Illinois wants to nuke Chicago.
Just need to make NYC a state.
Making them their own district like Washington D.C. would fix most of the problems we have with them. But ironic as ever they'd vote against that.

Cascadia pt. 2: east coast edition when Secession is always the answer
Sounds kinda like Illinois. We're not allowed to own suppressors, SBRs or machine-guns, all because a bunch of people in the Northeast corner of the state think they're scary. At least they haven't banned AR15s or high capacity magazines. They've been trying, though.
Most of Canada hates Toronto, sometimes I do too, like whenever I have to take the subway during rush hour. Also the transfer paperwork is with the Provincial Chief Firearms Office for that P38 I bought, so now I just have to wait fro them to approve it and the guy to ship it. If the approval isn't too slow, I may actually be able to shoot it when I got to the range mid-February.
I live in Upstate NY myself (Otsego County) and everyone up here agrees that NYC needs to be a separate entity. It's bullshit how they have an entirely different way of life and culture yet they can make up bullshit laws and taxes for the rest of the state. The SAFE act is unconstitutional garbage that the corrupt assholes passed overnight behind closed doors. FUAC

I'm thinking of getting an EAA Witness in 10mm, anyone here have any experience with them?

Hey, at least you NYCs and Californians can at least go to another state to fire some proper guns. I have to fly half way across Europe. : (
95% of europeans complaining about gun laws are too lazy and/or cheap to do something to get guns of their own. 5% really do have it bad. which category are you in?
Are you implying you can't complain about laws while owning guns? Go on then, tell me how i can legally get a semi-automatic weapon higher than .22 in England. Oh wait Well while you figure that out, i'll stick with my process to buy a SMLE.
