I'm trying to decide on it, but I've seen alot of feed ramp issues online so part of me is telling me its a bad idea. I actually like the aesthetics, and I shot a rental t97 at the range and enjoyed it.. but I don't want a messed up rifle for $750. There's also a modification of the QBZ for 12ga which I also found interesting..
Just saw a petition on the whitehouse website requesting the repeal of the NFA. I'd shit a brick if that actually went somewhere tbh. Think the madmen on capital hill will try and pull it off? https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-nfa Holy shit there is one on the 1986 Hughes amendment too.
Signed both. I disagree massively with Trump and his administration but might as well make the best of things.
What are your guys opinions about 357 sig and 40 SW. I'm thinking about buying a handgun in 357 sig but the more I look into it the more appealing 40SW is. Only real reason is because I already own a 45, and 2x 9mm. I want something new. I'm looking at the LEO version of the P320. I think if i buy the 40 i can still swap out barrels for the 357 right?

Personally, .40S&W is kind of outdated because you can buy 9mm SD ammo that performs as well as it does, but you get better capacity and less recoil with that. .357 Sig is great, but it gives you nerve damage

I have never heard a good thing about it.
There's a benelli m4 for sale at the store $1700, yes?

I would get the 357 if you are going to mainly carry it and not put a million rounds through it and get the 40 if you are looking for something to shoot more. The only reason I'm saying that is 357 sig is around 2-3 times as much per round than 40. If price is no object 357 sig all the way regardless ;)
There's a benelli m4 for sale at the store $1700, yes?
They're listed for $1800 online. If it's new and you really want one get it, if it's second hand then the price is a bit steep. [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline] Lol, A$3980 here in Australia. Wish I could own one.
Hey all, Building my first AR-15. I currently own a Remington 870 and a 10/22 for plinking. I'd like to own a rifle that I've built as my own, while also saving some money over buying a completed rifle from a shop. My overall budget is around $600, which could increase if need be. I've got 5 months before I turn 21, so I figured I could split the cost across those 5 months and order the lower on my 21st. Ive been looking at Palmetto State Armory for the deals, but was wondering if anyone has any pointers here for deals or general build philosophy.
You know you can buy an AR at 18 right? Or are you just waiting to get the lower on your 21st just as a gift to yourself? Also, Im looking to replace my 8" plastic handguards on my Armalite M15A4 whats the best free float quad rail handguards for the money?
You have to be 21 to buy an AR lower.
Where does it say that? An AR lower isn't a pistol, isn't only pistols and NFA items that require you to be 21 Or is it a state thing?
Why don't you buy a lower and have the guy in the shop attach your stock to it (or do it yourself in the shop) so it becomes a rifle?
Where does it say that? It may not be by law but I know of many gun shops that won't sell. Like I had to wait on mine because you have to be resident to buy a pistol but not a rifle, and they wouldn't sell me the lower until I had an in-state ID.
I got an aimpoint for my shotgat. [t]https://i.gyazo.com/958d3c6e0f1ec769177b57faaf671e8c.png[/t]
Nice man I just bought bead sights for my sks because the world doesn't make sense anymore.

I'm building my AR in parts so that's why I'm not just buying one off the rack. I'm looking at the 80% route, but I'm not sure if it's worth the jig and time, when I could just wait a few months. Would be badass though.
There's a benelli m4 for sale at the store $1700, yes?
Pass, wait for used one. You'll also need to throw another $500 or so at it and be wary of 922r compliance to bring it as close to stock form that the marines use. Not worth it unless you just HAVE to burn your money. Actually, buy a Colt Python if you are willing to sling that much money around.
Jeez, despite our laws, I'm glad they're federal (with very few exceptions)
Yeah I've lived in 5 states so sometimes it gets hard to keep track. Luckily one of those is Mississippi so I just have to remember "pretty much none" for that one.
You have to be 21 to buy an AR lower.
Oh I bought an AR at 19 so I just assumed the lower still fell under that because my LGS was pushing for me to buy the lower and build one instead of getting it prebuilt. Is that actually a federal law or just an unspoken law that a lot of stores just don't want to be apart of so they don't sell a lower to people under 21?

Section 922(b)(1) makes it unlawful for a licensee to sell any firearm other than a shotgun or rifle to any person under the age of 21. Since a frame or receiver for a firearm, to include one that can only be made into a long gun, is a "firearm other than a shotgun or rifle", it cannot be transferred to anyone under the age or 21.
Well then I guess someone at my LGS was about to fuck up if I went the lower route.
Jeez, despite our laws, I'm glad they're federal (with very few exceptions)
Thats the thing about US gun laws. They were written in the 30s and 60s, and they dont make a lick of sense in todays world, but theyre still upheld like guns havent changed since 1934.
Depends. An 80% can be significantly cheaper if you have someone to loan you the tools or if you plan on making more than 1. Thats the justification process I use. Goes like this: 1. Is it cheaper to make my own? 2. Do I plan on doing it again? 3. Can the tools for this project be used in other projects? If the answer to any of these things is "no" then I don't bother.
I have a buddy with a jig set up from 80%, and Im taking a few tools out of the old mans cabinet. It is not significantly cheaper to make my own, but yea Ill definitely look at the total cost and see if its worth it.

I expected lots of stuff about the 1961 laws as that's the current law (BUT HEAVILY MODIFIED) but after reading about that, the proposal went into details about the 1927 gun laws, then the 1926 gun law proposal. And before this, the proposal had an old norse poem from Håvamål which is from the fucking 11th century. All I wanted to know was what the new laws were, not more god damn norse history :v:
how are the gun law proposals? are things getting better or worse?
Gun laws never get better in Europe.
how are the gun law proposals? are things getting better or worse?
They've already implemented more strict rules for de-activated guns last fall. They now want to have a 5 year medical self-declaration which is done online and a doctors state of health declaration before each first purchase of guns. They are also working on adjusting to the new rules which are going to be voted on in march if they are going to get implemented or not, so they are currently not doing anything until the EU decides if they are going implement the proposal they have currently agreed to. If the EU votes to implement it, which is most likely, they will move forward with the Norwegian laws to adapt them to the EU rules. If the EU votes no, which I doubt will happen, the norwegian laws will probably go ahead as planned. I'm still not done reading the proposal, because I'm lazy and because it's bore to read, but it doesn't look like it will kill ALL the shooting sports yet.
Gun laws being federal makes things so much easier, because I don't have to worry about if I'm breaking the law if I have to move across the country for work and want to bring my guns with me. The only exception is Quebec, because they seem to ignore the constitution when it pleases them and pass laws that they name after shooting victims so nobody will want to challenge the constitutionality of them.
Anyone have any experience with the Pietta 1873 Peacemakers? Sending off for my restricted tomorrow and i'm looking for a good quality peacemaker without the Colt price. I was looking at the Uberti version as well but its a bit more, would be willing to shell out though if there is an extreme difference in quality
