Those Chinese stripper clips for the Mosin are finger destroyers. Been a week and the cut still hasn't healed on my thumb.
Going to a gun show tomorrow. Lets see what I can come home with.
Last time I went to a gun show all I came home with was bbq sauce and beef jerky

Oh wait I picked up 200 rounds of 45 too, nevermind

IMO paint bubbles not a deal breaker, but see for yourself
i thought the paint bubbling was something they recognized themselves and have offered to fix on rifles with shit paint?

pretty damn amazing how ALL semi auto triggers for AKs are fucking garbage btw. i have handled four or five milspec AKs from different countries (russia, bulgaria, hungary, poland, and some other east bloc country come to mind) and the triggers were simply put very nice in semi auto mode. in full auto mode they are much more gritty but that's to be expected. how can you make the semi auto triggers assemblies so shitty??
Blame 922r. There are good AK triggers out there but Crapco G2 triggers plague all AK's for some reason. I guess they're so cheap and people don't expect quality triggers (or parts in general) even in $1k+ AK's?
Building an AR pistol, bought a 11.5 Del-Ton pistol upper and going to get the lower soon!
Should look something like this, minus the rear flip up for a carry handle and i'll have the SB15 on it.

So excited!
ijdgi, you would think that making a decent semi auto trigger is as easy as taking an original one and removing the auto trip lever and filling in the shelf for it on the hammer? design-wise, i mean, obviously not just jerryrigging a full auto trigger. really hard to wrap my head around why e.g. the crapco one has two hooks and is just all around weird.
[editline]11th February 2017[/editline]
do the civilian ak triggers even have the nice little bushing around the trigger axle pin?
It comes down to 922r. The trigger in an AK counts for a lot of parts so it pretty much has to be all American made to meet 922r compliance, which is fucking stupid. That means we don't get the nice worn in original triggers, we get pot metal, chock full of burrs, Tapco G2 triggers instead.
Can't answer your second question, been a long ass time since I've owned an AKM.
I can't wait for Gun Jesus to release the WA2000 video.
So 3 weeks ago Catbarf recommended that I get a vintage Balkan war hand-guard and grip set for my Yugoslavian NPAP. It arrived.
At first I was like, cool, a battle worn handguard that has probably seen combat.

Then, I noticed something strange on it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Dj0vjdp.jpg[/t]
owo what is this?
Upon further inspection, this.

Yep, some guy in the Balkan conflict had a sense of humor I guess. Proud to have this unique piece of history on my rifle. Tomorrow I will put it on and show you all.
[sp] The guy/kid who put this on his gun is probably dead. :( [/sp]
Hahahah that is rad
Thanks guys, I think I'll get it anyways despite the paint issues.
Now about Kobras
Is this one good? Is there a better place to get them cheaper or anything like that?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, pretty new to megathreads despite being a member of FP for a long time, but I've been trying to find a good answer to this for the past month:
Which govermental dick do I gotta suck and apply citizenship for in order to get a new machine gun?
Please tell me I don't have to move to Somalia. I only wanna shoot watermelons and ballistic gel.
While the US is a chill place to live I would rather move just to shoot off a fucking assault rifle (Or a battle rifle, that sounds like fun too). Lots of stress and it's better I shoot up a range halfway around the globe than snap and smash up whatever house I have.
I want myself an automatic TAR-21 or SCAR or some insanely scary looking gun thats gonna make an anti-gun person shit themselves. Just because. No other reason.
Please tell me I'm not the only one and there is a place in the world that is safe to live that I can do this.

Short answer, move to Somalia.
To get your hands, legally, on a post 1986 machine gun, you need to establish yourself as an FFL, sell a certain amount of guns every year, then get a class III dealership license. Then you need to buy class III firearms and other NFA items and sell a certain number every year to maintain that. THEN you can buy your fantasy MGs that probably arent available in the US regardless.
Unless youre going to go on a decade long adventure of starting a successful gunshop, youre not getting a post 86 MG. Youre better off just renting from the gun range or moving to Somalia. Also, not to be a dick, you probably dont have the funds for a pre86 MG either.
Your fantasy is gonna be a fantasy for a long time.

Try something more attainable, like being the first man to break the speed of light, or the first man to ride a dragon.
Too late I've ridden some dragons in my days.
So here's a question for you guys. I'm fitting my Aimpoint on my new CZ Evo and no matter what I do, I can't seem to co-witness the red dot with the irons. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
while i'm glad firearms are super restricted in my country, if i lived on a rural property i would definitely have some. my friend has a few guns up on their property nothing big, but my favourite is one of their shotguns. it has a lot of kick and its a lot of fun to shoot shit with.
they also brought home a desert eagle bb gun from the states which we've played some sharp shooter games with, like holding up a cracker and taking turns shooting at it. if you miss you have to hold the cracker. though no one aimed for the cracker, they just aimed for the hands, ears and neck because it hurt like a mother fucker.
Anyone ever go to Nation's Gun Show in VA? Headed there Sunday

Sir, thems fightin words in my country
while i'm glad firearms are super restricted in my country
Why?
i'm not gonna argue my beliefs on gun control in a firearms thread

Direct cowitness or lower 1/3rd? The former you'll never be able to do, even with a micro.
i'm not gonna argue my beliefs on gun control in a firearms thread
Lol.
Either way, might I suggest you take a look at New Zealand's gun laws and compare it to Australia's? NZ has relatively lax gun laws and a lower murder rate than us.

i don't doubt that having lax gun laws can work, its just been working the way it is in australia the way things are and i don't see a reason to change it. you can still get a gun here, if you need a gun.
If the US were a place where strict gun laws and gun bans would work, I'd be happy to see them in place if it means criminals wouldn't have them and thusly lawful citizens wouldn't need them save for employment/constructive activity, either.
It's not, though, so I'd rather gun laws be made so that lawful citizens can procure whatever they please and be able to inexpensively educate themselves with it and keep it on their person.
I'm also the kind of nutjob who wishes any crime that employs a firearm in its perpetration be an immediate life sentence without parole. You use a tool built to take life in a crime, that's a statement.
well australia is a smaller country, and was much smaller back when the ban came into place so it was easier to remove most of the guns.
it would be a nightmare trying to achieve that in the US because you guys have more people, more guns and have a proper gun culture.

Even though your gun laws have had no appreciable effect on firearms crime whatsoever, you still opt for a ban? Any other bullshit feel-good laws that don't do anything that you support?
i'm not gonna argue my beliefs on gun control in a firearms thread
Then maybe don't start your post in a hobby thread with "While I'm glad that your guys' favorite hobby is nearly outright banned in my country...."

Except you didn't remove most of the guns. You guys got like 33% of them at best.
Theres an old joke that goes "How do Australians oil their guns? They pour motor oil in their gardens".

That's something I wish a lot of people outside of our country would understand, and it's refreshing to hear it.
Cyke, you catch more flies with honey, you know.
they also brought home a desert eagle bb gun from the states
I hope you realize that's very much illegal here, and that your friends can get into super deep shit if they're caught.
