Installed the 930 GG&G Charging handle and enhanced bolt release on my SA-20. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/F9r1jA.jpg[/t] Last part is a QD mount for between the receiver and stock. Should come in the mail today.
Any one got a recent edition of the blue book values? I need a price check for a remington model 8 and it is spotty for value online.

It was such an amazing improvement over the stock handle. Yet another gun I sold that I miss.
Is it just me or does iv8888's political commentary ruin his channel? I honestly enjoy just untained gun reviews and shit.. not political commentary.

I feel like he's 100k subscribers away from knocking out some of his own teeth and putting on overalls.
Is it just me or does iv8888's political commentary ruin his channel? I honestly enjoy just untained gun reviews and shit.. not political commentary.
I think he'd be better off keeping the politics compartmentalized in their own selection of videos.
So I was taking a coworker to a court hearing and on the way there, I found out there's going to be a gun show happening over the weekend in one of the cities I passed through. I plan on visiting, but I've never been to a gun show. On top of that, it's taking place in the next state over (Missouri) so I'm sure the laws are a bit different from where I live. (Kansas) So as a first-time visitor, what can I expect from it? Any information I should know while I'm there? Advice incase I decide to buy anything?

Dunno why people complain when gun reviewers show a bit of desire to keep their hobby or business viable. When the guy gets 100% of his income from the firearms industry via the shop he works at, and the reviews he puts out on them, and there are people who want to take the right for him to do that away, well, it's not surprising he wants to get the word out about how to oppose that. I'd reckon most of his userbase (including me, granted) likes most of his political commentary being in the videos. Keeps a good reminder out there to not get complacent.
Is the Mossberg 500 a decent beginner/home defense shotgun? I want to buy something that I can learn well enough on and that will function well without being ugly as sin. I plan to buy/order one at the local gun shop and put in for some courses over at Reed's.

For a beginner its a good spot to start (heck its where I started). I'd avoid the Maverick 88's because they're just stupidly cheapo economy versions of the 500's.
I thought the Maverick shotguns were solid (for the price anyway)
They're solid for that price of $240~. But its just another $100 and you'll have a standard Mossyberg which'll have a much nicer not-glossy-finish, better parts and a far larger aftermarket. But if its the best you can afford, then go for it. They're better than nothing.

Gunshows have the best and the worst of the gun community present. So be prepared to see nazi memorabilia sold by a skinhead, and then reasonable people who just want to buy a new pistol.

I got mine lightly used in good shape for $250
I give my recommendation to the Mossberg. Relatively cheap, lots of aftermarket, very reliable and mechanically simple to service yourself. I prefer 870's ergonomically and weight wise but some parts are riveted together and stuff which means relatively common breakages will need to be serviced by a gun smith or require special tools and time to learn. I had a shell spring or something break on my 870 and it involves cutting out rivets and stuff. My M500 had a burr on the shell stop. It took five minutes with a screw driver and file to fix.
Do they make an 18.5 inch barrel for five round Mossberg 500 models?
yes you can throw an 18.5" barrel on a 5+1 mossberg 500 you're basically only limited on barrel length by the length of the mag tube. Alot of the 5+1 models come with a 18.5" barrel stock
$425 for 14.5 Colt upper with BCG?
$425 for 14.5 Colt upper with BCG?
I'd say it's not a terrible deal, all included yeah seems decent to me. Is it an M16 or AR bcg?
:unimpressed:
It looks just like the ones on our M4s. Same amount of finish wear and the same rear sight.
Might wanna run it by CID or your branch equivalent just in case.
I totally agree but to be fair, how? They don't serialize uppers, how would you ever know? Not condoning by any means (in case the ATF is here) [editline]16th February 2017[/editline] But also because I believe in the law and god bless America
Is it a LE6921 upper? if so it's got an AR BCG in it 425$ is a pretty good price (for a colt)
What are some heirloom guns that can last until I can give them to my grandkids? Not sure if already old heirloom guns like revolvers and lever actions will last another 70 years.
What are some heirloom guns that can last until I can give them to my grandkids? Not sure if already old heirloom guns like revolvers and lever actions will last another 70 years.
Any machine will last forever if it's properly maintained. Those old revolvers and lever actions that are already a 100 years old will still last as long as they're properly maintained. Theres people that still drive tin lizzy's because they maintain them.
I got an old Colt Police Positive that's 103 years old. Still shoots clovers with target loads, even with it's pitted barrel.
1909 double barrel + 1915 C96 reporting in. Shooting fine here, will be shooting fine in the next century too.
